Favorite smart fabrics for summer? (Cheaper is better but not required...)
Ran in the heat. Did not do so well. LOL. I like to cover up because I'm deathly pale. Suggestions as to your favorite wicking fabrics for summer? Official SPF a bonus.

Super-beginner tip: Squat LOW--it's good for you!
Some coaches used to (and maybe still do) give the advice to not drop all the way down into a squat for fear of injuring your knees. You're more likely to injure your knees if you inappropriately develop some muscles over others, and when you don't drop all the way into a squat, that may happen to you. (Reminded by a…

Pear & hourglass ladies up to size 18, maybe 20--I found cheap workout leggings!
Sometimes it's hard to find leggings that fit a more generous backside or hips without rolling down or exposing things when you bend over, but these are AMAZING and cheap: http://www.amazon.com/iLoveSIA-Womens-Tights-Capri-Legging/dp/B00VYXZXSG/ref=sr_1_3?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1436153484&sr=1-3 Wearing them in my new…

What a difference a month can make!
Six months ago, I just tipped over into overweight from having been a healthy weight all my life. There were a ton of reasons, as there always are. I wasn't happy with it, but I was so busy with other things that I didn't have much time to do things other than just be a bit more mindful of my food and walk a little more.…

I jogged a little!
Just a little. Didn't trigger my exercise-induced anaphylaxis, as I was doing about :10 on to :30 to :50 off. My genetic muscle disorder makes it so that my muscles get depleted extra fast and I start stumbling (right about when I break out in hives from the allergy, lol), but by staying below that, I was able to drop back…

Inches and pounds...always decrease on different days!
I'm somewhat bemused by this. If I hit a new lower number in weight, I almost never hit a new lower number on the measuring tape anywhere the same day. But I can lose up to an INCH overnight in certain areas...that pretty much stays off permanently when there was a higher number on the scale than yesterday. Also, I never…

Victoria's Secret now has decent sports bras for larger cup sizes!!!!
They cover their bra range, which now goes 32-40 and up to DDD (but only DD in 40). Choose "maximum support." :) Their Incredible and Ultimate both handle 32DDD. The Incredible has a wider band, which I like. You don't have to either have your boobs squeezed until you can't breathe (my previous approach) or have them fall…

Watching TV...and eating "clean"
Not stirring the pot. Had a thought that maybe would help people understand. A lot of people get interested in this idea of the BEST MOST PERFECT DIET EVER. Let's ignore the details--half the time they're contradictory, anyway. Instead, let's talk about screen time and certain foods. Like eating immoderately, too much…

FOUND IT!!!! Better calorie recommendations for pregnant women!
Okay, so I knew that the calories-by-trimester numbers that American women were being given were being pulled out of people's rear ends and were, in fact, contributing to women gaining TOO MUCH WEIGHT in pregnancy because they're too high in the second trimester and impossibly low by the end of the third. I found a study…

Introduction: WAHM/home workouts/@#$# tired of being chubby
Hi, all! This is my intro. AND THAT <--- is my before picture. It will not be my picture in six months. It will not be my picture in one month. I've mostly been in REASONABLE shape my adult life--not great, like I was most of college, but reasonable. Having baby #3 + starting my own company made that all fly out the…

Yeah, guys, I wasn't naked.
Someone reported my avatar because they thought I was nekkid. I was wearing a pink shirt that got cut off by the auto-cropping that the avatar does. :P So this is what I was actually wearing: So sorry to disappoint. ROFLOLOL.

Gained 1.4lbs overnight on a 1000 deficit...and it's OKAY
I've been eating a lot of salty food for two days, so I was unsurprised when my weight jumped overnight. Will I eat less salty foods? NOOOOOOPE. lol. Not deliberately. Salt's not bad for most people. And I don't really care about the slight variations in water weight. Why would I stop eating yummy stuff just to avoid a…

Pregnant and post-partum moms...You need to know about abdominal wall separation!
You may see videos of super fit moms lifting weights all through their pregnancy. But this is a REALLY, REALLY bad idea because it can dramatically increase your chances of abdominal wall separation and can cause even permanent damage to your core. Starting a core program that's too aggressive too soon after birth or if…

And THIS is why I'm tracking....
I am apparently naturally the most sedentary person in the world. I've done more than two hours at my treadmill desk today (11k steps) with my FitBit and BARELY nudged the adjustment to 150 cals over versus my default setting. This is supposed to be a rest day, so no real exercise, but I want to earn enough calories for…

I finally saw a number today that I hadn't seen before the last baby. :D
I'm quite sure now that I'll break into the 130s by the end of the month. Whoop!

I have a Fitbit and a HRM...
I'd like to use the Fitbit to measure my steps, including treadmill desk steps. And I'd like to use the HRM to estimate calories during actual workouts. How would I wear the FitBit to do that? Take it off when I exercise?
