I just changed from a shopper to a hybrid and love it. It has the advantage of being lighter but with robust tyres I can cope with some rough roads and tracks. Luxury of so many gears too. Love it

Look on the Internet for a cycle training programme - it will build up with short rides three times a week up to longer ones at the end of maybe 14 weeks. I am building my fitness from non existent rider to 30 miles (48 km). I pushed myself a bit much twice this week (first time on speed, second time distance) and feeling…

I eat up to 1500 calories a day. If I exercise I do not eat extra as I have enough and I aim to lose 1 lb a week but have been losing around 2 lbs a week
-
Cycling is low impact and a lot of fun too

I still eat bread and ice cream every day. I set aside calories for food I enjoy and also eat salad, veg and some fruit every day. I have lost 9 lbs in 4 weeks so it does work. I have 1500 calories a day and usually eat most of the Is. I do not use calories burned through exercise and I am active every day

Sounds as if you are very active, well done for your determination!

I have been on MFP for 3 weeks, lost 6 lb aiming for 1 lb a week, maybe slow and steady is good enough?? U r doing well and losing well done xx

My weigh day is Wednesday but I do step on the scales in between out of curiosity. This Tuesday I was set to lose 2 lb but the following morning only 1 lb! That's the way it goes I guess! Still happy as my goal is 1 lb a week and I have lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks so far

I am probably the one annoying them! Instead of eating a cake in the cafe where I volunteer, I say "I am fine, I have some grapes and juice" and I guess it stops them from munching cake too! They all say they want to lose weight and for a change I am the healthy one, must be so irritating! Love it though

I plan my eating at the beginning of each day so know I might want 150 Grammes of rice, a piece of chicken breast weighing 90 Grammes, 30 Grammes of stir fry. I just put my p,ate on the scale and set it to zero, add the rice, zero again. It is really accurate and easy to do. I weigh out each member of the family in the…

Losing weight rapidly is dangerous and unnecessary. It places strain on all ur vital organs, y risk ur health when u can lose slowly while learning good eating habits and enjoy developing ur fitness?

I have been on MFP for three weeks and have 42 lbs to lose. I set it to lose 1 lb a week and have 1500 daily calories. I do exercise every day and do not eat extras burned through activity. I have lost 6 lbs - 3, 2 and then 1 lb (2 per week)! Happy with that. Will keep doing same for time being
-
Congratulations on your surprise! My surprise is 18 now, wouldn't b without him xx

Sorry it is a typo - shd b MFP

That's great news. My husband has been riding for 6 months but I was just not interested. I had my trusty shopper in the shed and when I joined map about 3 weeks ago, I thought I would go for a ride on my shopper, built up to doing a 5 mile ride with a couple of small hills which I could manage. I got a tax rebate and so…

Thanks. I have been doing a 5 mile route with moderate hills I can do. Improving on that. Will need to do a longer route this week so will see what I can achieve. Have a suggested 12 week plan I am aiming for which works up to 30 miles

Click on the + at the foot of the page, select Exercise and find the one u want, enter minutes and then tick xx

I have two types of hunger - mental hunger (I just want to munch something but I'm not actually needing food, physical hunger - empty tummy)! I have 1500 calories daily and I have a small breakfast and small lunch, saving up for a good sized evening meal with a pudding. That way I don't need to munch because I never really…

My son was overweight and wanted to get fitter when he was 13 and started running. An adult man he did not know shouted from his car "run fat boy run" and he never went out running again

My allocation to lose 1 lb a week is 1510 calories a day. I burn additional calories through exercise which I do not eat. So far I am losing weight and I may say no to additional food but not hungry at all. How many calories are you using and still feeling hungry?
-
Of course you can, you already started tracking and found it easy. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and lost 5 lbs which surprised me as only aiming for 1 lb a week! I track everything and plan each day in the morning and stick to it. I am also exercising well (which is not like me as I hate exercise)!
-
I haven't been eating mine as I already have 1510 calories and feel pretty full already. I lost 4 lb on my first week and my aim was for 1 lb per week. For example, I wanted a slice of toast today for supper but was just under my daily calories even though I had over 300 calories burnt through exercise. I stubbornly…

I love chocolate too, and crisps plus fizzy drinks! I can't do them in moderation, so I have given them up as I find it easier to have none. It is working so far, joined 10 days ago and lost 4 lbs! How r u getting on with calorie counting, I am tracking everything and making sure I eat well but also leave some for food I…

Thanks everyone! Expecting to keep fit into old age now - I am blessed at 51 to have joints and muscles that work after all the neglect. I see people my age hobbling about or even in mobility scooters. Play time is now LOL! For me it is about variety, I don't have to do only one type of exercise and become amazing at it, I…

I am 5'4' and 1510 calories was recommended so I am sticking to that. Already on week 1 I have lost 3 lbs, so I trust the advice given by people on this app. I do additional exercise but usually don't need to go into the additional calories on there because I feel satisfied. I weigh and log everything and it is working
-
Why does anyone have 1200 a day plus exercise cals when I have 1510 a day? I lost this week too so must be right. Are they lower because they want to lose weight more quickly? I am aiming to lost 1 lb a week but actually lost 3 lb

I bought a spiral isn't and so far used it once! Makes a lot of mess, requires major washing up for a bit of salad and it makes a long hole in the veg which is waste. Would rather use a chopping board and knife, disappointed, am I doing it wrong?

Need to see the weight coming off too, was frustrating to be losing then gaining 1 lb on Weight Watchers
-
You can use the food diary to check the calories of the daily food you eat. Then the daily calorie goal is put on the page and if u do any exercise, you earn additional calories which you can either eat or leave for additional weight lost. I am 5'4", I have 42 lbs to lose, currently 183 lbs. I have set mine to lose 1 lb a…
