  • Ultimately though, it's you who has to be happy with what you're doing for your own health, right? It's certainly an ego boost for me when i step back and observe areas where i can perform simple movement with less effort after having lost excess fat and gaining strength. I no longer have to lift 100 extra lbs of untapped…
  • Mine doesn't count steps i take when in small spaces or in place either. Not sure if that's a problem yet though, calorie burn seems pretty accurate even in spite of this.
  • This was a fun thread to browse through! I'd like to offer a character building outcome of this currently insurmountable issue you descreibe. If you can take full ownership of your own ability to monitor your own health and wellness while having to be so close to the edge of temptation, you'll just prove to yourself that…
  • The reporting tools are a little more robust for premium membership too. For example, on the android app, in the nutrition section, choosing a macro or micro nutrient with Premium membership will display a list of all the foods you've logged (for the time frame you're inspecting) that have contributed to that macro/micro.
  • My goodness, you're all so critical of your bodies. You all look great!

  • If you make the fried chicken tenders yourself from scratch, you'll be better able to track how much oil is used. Consider that for next time you choose to eat them. Hmm i should make some...
  • You were talking about defining worth by weight. I am suggesting there is some truth that a person's perceived "worthiness" is reconciled with the perception of worth that is reflected to them by their peers. I can run around thinking I'm a perfect "10" all i want, but if everyone else perceives me a "5", i will only be…
  • Well, there is some evidence that people who are described as attractive by others have different experiences with employment and discrimination, social functioning, and self esteem...
  • When people take pictures of themselves with their cheeks sucked in and their lips puckered
  • I am also " struggling " with this. I have read a few posts here which suggest waiting till you're at maintenance for 9+ months to see how your skins elasticity has fared after that much weight loss. Tbh, even if my skin stays how it is now, I'm not too worried, but I'm sure this is not a common sentiment for others who…
  • There are some posts that discuss this, sorry i have no links. Sleep affects ghrelin and cortisol, hormones which can fluctuate weight and affect hunger signals, masking your weight loss or causing water retention. General consensus is to aim for ~8 hrs of sleep a day, but that's a subjective number.
  • I had this happen once on Android. It had two entries for a fitbit adjustment in one day, both different numbers. I deleted one of the entries by tapping the pencil at the top of my diary and selecting the erroneous data, then using the trashcan icon to delete it. You might be able to tap and hold the erroneous entry to…
  • Scrimps, brown rice, veggies, water. Maybe ice cream for dessert, or 2% yogurt and raspberries
  • I am a fitbit charge hr cult member :-) one of the things i do now, in maintenance, is make sure I'm getting a certain amount of cardio done in a week. The charge hr has the ability to track when your heart rate is elevated from exercise. So, each week i try to get around 2-3 hours total of cardio heart rate exercise, and…
  • The first time I had one of these, it was on a thick crust, like the type used for sicillian slices. I was told it was called a "Tomato Pie." I don't know if most pizza places will know what a tomato pie is if you order it that way, though.
  • The area I've bolded is where you answered your own question. It sounds like restricting so much is something you don't feel is sustainable in the long term. You even say so yourself. Maybe you can make a compromise here that will keep you aligned on an ultimate goal, such as continuing to rely on those healthy lifestyle…
  • Eating more than you burn will never make anyone lose (more) weight. However, I've definitely eaten more than when i first started and lost weight, but that's because I'm a lot more active now than when i first started. If i were no more active, then there would be no way to eat more and stay in a calorie deficit
  • Switching from sedentary to active is about making movement a regular part of your life. I've seen great suggestions written by the community here that demonstrate this. Parking further away from your destination and walking, or just relying less on labor saving devices can really add up over time. Start slow if you're…
  • I agree with other posters here, a medical professional will no 4 shur if it hormonal
  • So, am i understanding this right? Are you implying your symptoms are due to having eaten Mexican food? You've never felt bloated or tired before this meal?
  • Eating fat doesn't make you fat, it's your total calorie intake versus output that determines how much fat storage occurs. Enjoy the chicken, all of it.
  • I'd wait until a 4-6 week stall before changing up my logging. So, i'd suggest you keep doing what you're doing now until it stops working, and only then, look at ways to improve your accuracy
  • I really like what you wrote here. Thank you :)
  • This is an interesting perspective on things! I don't know if I can speak for anyone other than myself, but I believe our culture is a bit more permissive of drug and alcohol abusers being the way they are as long as they don't start doing anti-social things. Drug and alcohol abuse is sometimes glamorized by our media;…
  • For me, I liked being comfortable a little lot more than being uncomfortable. I generally managed to include some form of exercise in my life since my teens till now, but I was not very consistent, and I would eat far too much for the amount of activity I would do. The desire to exercise dwindled because the lure of being…
  • Thank you for this! :-) it makes great sense. Batch cooking definitely has made my food choices easier to manage
  • I also think a bodyweight program will help you feel more comfortable with your body shape, probably more than losing any more weight will. I picked up "you are your own gym," there's an app for it that also has video demonstrations of all the exercises you'll be doing.
