What an interesting notion. How are you determining your metabolic rate? Are you being monitored in a lab? What are the signs you're seeing of metabolic slow down?

Most of my anxiety has lifted since making a habit of walking a minimum of 45 minutes daily. Shedding the excess fat from maintaining a calorie deficit, and exposing the little muscle development beneath is really great for my depression. For me, my attention to my physical appearance is a good indicator of my emotional…

Are you asking because you want to eat more since throwing up, or because you're hoping to see a bigger drop on the scale?
-
Taking a 4-5 mile walk is the absolute minimum i will do daily for the sake of my health. It's habitual now, like showering and oral hygiene. Thanks for the video

If you won't be accountable to yourself (you're not alone, many aren't) then you may want to consider in person accountability rather than virtual. I suggest joining weight watchers, or finding an over eaters anonymous group.

I wing it. I used to pre log when i was doing less cardio and was less active. "Winging it" is closest to how i expect the rest of my life will be in terms of eating and exercise.

I second this. Tortilla chips( sodium + ) cheese (sodium +) and likely, the pork has been cured in sodium. You're probably retaining water.
-
Just keep weighing your food and counting those calories. Being sore from exercise means you're retaining water to repair muscle. Having high sodium intake can also mask weight loss. Weight loss is not linear, look for trends that develop over 4-6 weeks to determine if you're at maintenance or gaining and need to refine…

There's have been a few threads about "fluff" which is something like a low cal high volume soft serve ice cream: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10260546/protein-fluff-where-have-you-been-all-my-life

If the kink don't hurt you ain't doin it right

Are you set to lose 2lb a week? So that means you need to eat 7000 calories less than you burn in a week. If you're eating 4000 less one week instead of 7000, you'll still be in a deficit for the week (a little over a lb of weight loss in this example, instead of the usual 2 lbs) Or you can go on a bender, and drink 7000…

I am intrigued by your post. I am curious what the gurus suggest for you, because someday I'll be wondering the same. Have you posted this in the fitness sub? I wonder if they'd have more to say. Great job on the weight loss, and thank you for being such a beacon of positivity and strength around here :)
-
The recomp thread will probably clarify for you, but my understanding of recomp is, you're in maintenance calorically, and exercising (weight lifting specifically) but should only be done when you're no longer overweight. The thread will probably do a better job of explaining it

Eat those calories from running on days you don't run. Win!
-
Are they slippery like noodles when dry fried? Or is it drier, more like pasta? I am really interested in these since this post
-
Thank you for this post! I am going to try a package of this over the weekend. Maybe two!
-
oh gosh, that would upset me too :(
-
If you're confident in your weighing/logging then yes, it's unlikely you ate 3500*3 calories ABOVE maintenance to gain 3 lbs of fat. Definitely watch for salt intake, that's one of those "Gotchas" when watching the scale.
-
Thank you for this great message, @msujack !
-
Are you eating high sodium while doing low carb? That can cause water retention, too
-
Doesn't sound terrible but i haven't looked up the calorie totals myself... do a Google search for visual portion guide and see if you can guesstimate the amount of scrambled eggs you had in the omelette. I'd log .5 to 1 cup of peas, the same for mushrooms, and guesstimate my fries/chips. It's not going to be as accurate…

Salads are super easy to make, too. No cooking required, just throw together a bunch of diced/shredded veggies, herbs, meats and cheeses and you're good to go. Two ingredients that work well together are red onions and cilantro.

I have pierced things, and scarred/ inked parts of my body. I dont want cosmetic surgery. Strange...
-
Well, you know you're giving in to your impulses. Up till now, doing this has made you overweight/obese. If you're not mentally ready to make sacrifices then there's no amount of coaching that can make you get there. This has to be something you want for yourself.

The fitbit exercise tracker on the phone app is dependent on your phone. There are quite a few times when ive noticed the phone app recording me being in one spot, then within 5 seconds I'm seeing my blip appear almost a mile away in another direction, then return back onto my original trajectory. I am more aware now of…

For me, my weight loss started with calorie restriction and no exercise. Lots of video games and visits from my friend Mary Jane. Then i added walking for at least 30 minutes straight on most weekdays. Prior to that, i was very very sedentary, and the thirty minutes of walking at a 3.1 mph speed (according to map my walk)…

It may, and you should be emotionally prepared for that possibility in your diagnosis... but definitely let the nephrologist examine you to be sure. You may also receive a clean bill of health from the nephrologist too
-
My doctor told me i had this going on too; he said some people just have more than average protein in their urine and not to worry about it. He documented the amount i have and i suppose we'll keep a record of it each physical exam
-
Are you taking measurements? You may be losing inches but not weight
-
Ahh, i see. Thank you for providing clarity
