  • Please add me too! Strong Moose we are similiar in our fitness approach! I recently started Strong Curves as well but I still do my kickboxing, running etc, every day. Before Strong Curves, I did a LOT of body weight exercises which actually worked for me in terms of preserving muscle... (I look pretty cut I think) now I'd…
  • That's my goal too.. to continue to lose while "gaining" muscle. I'm following (just REALLY started) a progressive weight lifting program (with some modifications) while lifting in a small deficit.. a few hundred calories less than maintenance per day.. I was hungry as heck when I started increasing my runs, but now that…
  • Still working to get size 10.5 inch arms.. been at 11s for quite some time with the rest of my body steady shrinking and tightening. Lol Doing progressive weight training and eating at a slight deficit. Will reevaluate in a couple months. I know I can't spot reduce, but I can hope right?
  • Her motivation has to come from within. Definitely be there to support her (as the other poster said) by watching the children when she needs to work out, telling her how sexy she is (in a real unforced way) etc and then just doing the little nothings that many of us love.. lower back touches, eye connections etc... she'll…
  • Dancing Moose, I wonder what management would say if you requested that they add these items..It is crazy that a gym wouldn't have such basic tools!!
  • @kharmon2013 Great job starting! I too waited a year since I was breastfeeding and it was a struggle hanging on to an adequate supply of milk...I didn't want exercise and calorie reductions to impact an already struggling supply...Once he turned one though, it was ON...I nursed him until 2.5 yrs but since he was eating and…
  • Phenomenal progress and worthy goal! I'm sure your mom really appreciates your efforts! :-)
  • Thanks @youdoyou2016 and @mangrothian! Yes the hunger is REAL! lol I'm 5'8", 140lbs. I gave myself a bit of wiggle room weight wise just for situations like this. lol I have a Fitbit Challenger 2 that has been seemingly pretty accurate with gauging my heart rate.. the readings are comparable to what you mentioned.. maybe I…
  • Way to go, phenomenal progress!! I Definitely feel that way as well... my friends and I from the gym joke about our self-created "powers" all the time for sure! Like if people only knew our "old selves" could climb poles, do hand stands, headstands, push-ups whatever like women half our ages!! Shooo, We in this MFP…
  • That increased running (specifically for me) may drastically increase your appetite... I took up running recently and I've been consistently HUNGRY.. and that's after eating back my exercise calories!! The intensity is not unlike me taking an additional class so I'm not sure why I'm so hungry now with this specific…
  • I started running about two months ago...,due to some very sage advise from one of the MFP posters, I've been taking it easy even though I'm pretty fit from taking cardio and body weight training classes every day, just about, for the past year and a half... anyway ran my longest run to date of 5.77 miles in under 10 mins…
  • 5.77 mile run with under ten minutes per mile... longest run to date... was more than able to keep going but the group (that I ran with) was finished and I'm pacing myself as a new runner.
  • I was referred to as "the Real MVP" lol by one of my friends after commenting to a mutual friend the steps I took to lose the weight... and making suggestions on what she could do as well... AFTER being asked! :-)
  • Every day... Weight training, kickboxing, advanced step, African dance, line dance... and now RUNNING.. every single day it's one or more of these exercises.
  • Awww I love this!! You DID IT!!
  • I started running about two months ago and haven't stopped since...nine or so miles a week max, as I'm still allowing my body (joints, muscles) to transition into this new form of exercise gradually. (I'm a kickboxing, advanced step, body weight exercise fanatic... recently became more consistent with a progressive weights…
  • That you could always feel like you are in training for something, when you aren't!! Lol! My fitness schedule, in the opinions of many around me, is pretty intense...I don't necessarily think so since my progress was gradual and I rarely feel truly exhausted....( well not too exhausted to hit it all over again the next…
  • Aww good job Treehugn. :-)
  • Yeah... I'm lower than my ideal weight but still not portioned right either... my arms need to be at least an inch and a half smaller than they are compared to my small waist ....and everything else... I've been consistently weight lifting in a deficit (as mentioned above) for a month now and hoping for the best. :-) We…
  • Phenomenal journey! Great job on taking back your life! :-)
  • Great job OP! I use to hear the "are you having another baby, Mommy" comment from my children as well. Thank GOD that's over and will never return if I have Anything to say about it!! Lol smh. Finishwhatustart, you too CAN have those words be a thing of the past as well.. just KEEP GOING!
  • Beautiful! You did the darn thing!
  • Great job; you DID IT!
  • So you have been weight training and "eating in excess" for eight weeks or so, however the scale hasn't moved and you have gained visible muscle and mass in lower body?? This sounds like you are recomping, right?! NICE! I am 5'8 and I appear very lean at 139 lbs. I have SOME muscles from primarily executing MOSTLY body…
  • Yep, guilt free eating in large amounts....My top AND my bottom. Lol I lost boobs AND most of my bottom. My ONLY saving grace right now is having a small waist. It makes me look at least "decent". It, and my skinny belts, give the illusion of more curves sometimes. Smh lol
  • Still trying to break into the 130s... I thought I had a few months ago, but my scale was being ridiculous as it hasn't said it since! lol Becoming a runner. I can jog full out no problem for a minimum of 4 miles but will take it SLOW as a beginner and increase my joint/muscle stregth for RUNNING as another poster…
  • It helps tremendously! I will follow your advise and start slowly... Thank you!
