Good ol' California. My keyboard is drowning in my sweat right now, if that's any indication of how things are out here!

From California over here! Would love some more Cali friends!

You can absolutely do it! Making small changes each week helps make the weight loss permanent.

You've got this. The hardest part is starting, but once you do nothing can stop you!

All of these salads sound sooooo delicious! My boyf and I will be going grocery shopping soon to try some of these out! I feel a little guilty that I've never actually tried beets before. Growing up I heard nothing but "ew" and "so gross" and similar such comments, but I DO want to try them. One of my favorite youtubers…

Because I like salads and only need a 100-200 calorie increase?

I'm 5'4 SW: I don't even know but close to 200 I'm sure. CW: between 165-170, I don't check until Saturday GW: 130-135 (how much I weighed when I found out I was 3 months pregnant) I'm trying my best to be realistic in my goals, especially since I'm hoping to have muscles - as opposed to the mostly skin, organs and bones I…

why do people think fasting is an ok way of losing weight? (seeing a bunch of posts on fasting (that have nothing to do with medical or religious reasons))

I understand doing things for the sake of an experiment, but you can literally lose 44 pounds (just over a pound a week) without resorting to 1200 calories/day as your maximum. Personally, I'd suggest you add 200-300 calories. Your body will thank you.

I prefer nuts and seeds or power trail mix.

Literally what I just said... No one is asking you to justify yourself.

Surprisingly Whole Foods carries some of the Quest varieties for cheaper than GNC. We got my tub of multipurpose protein powder for $30. It was closer to $50 at GNC.

I'm talking about the OP, who is probably just a troll looking to rile everybody up.

I was hospitalized about four years ago because of that myth.

Don't feed the trolls, guys.

Fruits, veggies, add peanut butter to your favorite fruit or veggie. Nuts, yogurt, baked kale or spinach chips, popcorn.

International Sports Sciences Association - I have a personal training certification through them, though they have several different programs.
-
I got certified through ISSA because I was pregnant and had a full-time job, so I needed a program that I could do on my own time. I'd recommend just sending an email with your inquiry, or even calling to find out the specifics.

Sugar comes from a large number of sources - honey, HFCS, your usual table sugar (the grainy stuff), fruits, etc. While cutting out white sugar is fine, removing every source of sugar results in a diet made up of pretty much just meat and/or fat. Without sugars, like glucose and lactose (and several others), you'll…

Better weight loss tools: 1. A canteen/reusable water bottle 2. Running shoes 3. Jump rope 4. Resistance bands 5. Rewards cards to your most visited grocery stores

Disagree, protein is protein. Eating MEAT is good for protein, fat, and essential amino acids; however all sources of protein count at the end of the day. Whether from legumes, meat, store bought bars, or wherever, as long as you're GETTING protein, that's what really counts.

There literally IS such a thing as starvation mode @tpereira333 Congrats on your loss, btw!
-
I've looked through the ingredients in a few Quest bars (for exactly this reason), and the long and short of it is: They're as good for you as any source of protein. As for the protein powders, I've got the Multipurpose powder, which is pretty tasteless. I use it in smoothies and it doesn't change anything besides the…

Um... Harry Potter fanfiction...

You've said literally everything I was going to say. Although I guess it might be interesting to add that organic food is 4-8 times more likely to be recalled.

Yes, and you create your own chibi avatar! /sarcasm
