August Start Weight : 159 lbs August Goal Weight : 156 lbs Ultimate Goal Weight : 132 lbs (3 lbs isn't super-ambitious compared to the many awesome goals I've seen in this thread, but I just need to move in the right direction again! This year I've kept gaining and losing the same 5 lbs.) August 1 : 159 lbs August 5 :…

Kevont actually included some useful tips, unlike me, lol! I'll chew a piece of sugar-free gum after eating, which helps because I don't generally want something else on top of that minty-flavor. Some people brush their teeth after each meal for the same reason, I've heard. Protein and fiber-rich foods also help, and…

I'm so sorry for your loss! Such deep grief must make everything much harder. When you eat, say, the 4 slices of pizza, and start wondering about dessert, is it a "I could possibly fit more in me" feeling or a true "I'm still hungry" feeling? Is it a craving? My brain can still crave sweet things even though my stomach is…

Congratulations!! I remember how much it meant to me to be overweight at last! Dance and be proud as hell, you've earned it!

I have hypothyroidism,( and if it helps, am also a nurse.) I've had hypothyroidism for nearly 20 years, and I've lost about 60 lbs over the last 2.5 years. I'd like to chime in with those people who've said that weight loss is very possible, so long as you're taking your thyroid medication consistently and at an effective…

I take one of Dannon Oikos's flavored cups of Greek yogurt (like orange sherbert or lemon meringue,) split it into two servings and make up the difference with plain Greek yogurt. (75g of each to make up a single serving.) But that boils down to adding sugar, basically. Still, I find the citrus-y flavors of yogurt go…

(I'm going to try so many of these! Lovin' this thread.) At the moment, it's usually some Raisin Bran with half a cup of skim milk, or a banana and Greek yogurt.

11 lbs, which is better than I'd realized! Thanks for starting the thread and helping me see that I have made some progress, even if it feels slow. :D

When I slip up (and it's always 'when,' not 'if,') it's been helpful to look backward a bit. Why did I slip up? Was I particularly hungry? Was I distracted by being social? Was I anxious, bored? Did I slip up a bit and then just say "screw it" for the rest of the day (or weekend)? This has taught me to, for example, always…

I'll chime in with another vote for thrift shops. I've also had a lot of luck by mentioning my clothing woes to good friends--a couple times, they've said "Oh hey, I have ______ that might fit you, if you want it!" At least half of what currently fits me came to me that way!

When this happens to me, I switch things up in my diet, my exercise, or both. It could mean some extra high-intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio or strength-training, particularly lower-body or full-body movements. Maybe I do an extra long endurance cardio session (which for me would be anything above 60 minutes.) As…

Like others have said, I've found it best to weigh after I wake up and use the bathroom. I weigh 5-7 days/week and record the results for myself in a 'private' app on my phone. Saturdays are my official weigh-in day, when I log my weight on MFP. The rest don't "count" per se, they just help me stay accountable to myself.…

What a fantastic accomplishment! Congratulations on your 800 day streak and on the baby bump!! :D
-
'Officially' I weigh in when I wake up on Saturdays, after using the bathroom and before eating/drinking anything. (The actual time depends on whether I worked a night shift!) And I weigh myself unofficially, um, too often. More than once a day at times, lol.

You could take measurements, but only about once a month, since that change takes time. Have you ever seen one of those models of what 1lb of fat looks like? It's a good chunk when you heft a model like that in your hand, bigger than a coffee mug, but if you imagine that spread out all over your entire body, it would be…

I feel your pain! I've experimented with ways to track meals while on night shift. My current method is to count from when I wake up (as a breakfast) to when I sleep (as dinner.) If I wake up and eat a snack, I'll usually count it on whatever "day" it's closest to. I worked last night (Sunday,) so I counted calories…

Phentermine acts as a stimulant, so it should make you feel more energized, or at least be elevating your heart rate some. I agree with Brookieb1326, check with your doctor if you're not noticing a difference. Any difference in appetite? Are you on a small dose?

Disclaimer: I'm a nurse, but not a doctor, and can't assess you in person, so take with a grain of salt, etc, etc. You sound dehydrated from those symptoms, but if drinking more doesn't solve it, do see a doctor ASAP. The simpler explanation is usually the right one, but sometimes it's something more complicated. Drink…

I looked into this myself not long ago. There's a hunger satiation hormone called leptin--having plenty of it tells your body that it's got plenty of food around. After a significant weight loss, you produce less leptin, which causes that greater feeling of hunger. That extra-hungry feeling is (one reason) why many people…

I'm in! Sounds like a fun challenge!

I made it!! Without an ounce to spare, lol. 169 lbs as of this morning, or 8.8 lbs lost since the start of May. How did everyone else do?
-
That's about 14 weeks, it looks like, or about 2.9 lbs/week. It's possible, but very difficult to maintain that rate of loss for so long, I would say. The higher your starting weight, the easier it would be, e.g. 300lbs vs 150lbs. Machka9's advice is excellent. Any net loss is a victory, in the end. Best of luck! :)

I don't know if this is the one you mean, but it's definitely the one that blew MY mind, lol! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjKPIcI51lU

Count me in! Late to the game, but I'd like to hit 169lb by the end of May. Ht: 5'1 CW: 177.8 lbs GW: 169 lbs 8.8 lbs to go--hard to hit in a month, but I've managed it before! Granted, not with a trip home to the parents with all those southern-cooking temptations . . .

Congrats on your success so far! I started Phentermine in mid-January and have about a month's worth to go. I'm down 29 lbs now. I'm back at a weight where I can walk without pain, and for that alone, I'm grateful for it. I'm trying to build good eating habits in the time I have left. Good luck--I look forward to reading…
