At 51, definitely been exercising for 40 years. Really fun to read all the posts - I've played everything and now do spin class, hiking, swimming, golf (walking course) and tons of online classes & yoga. I think the biggest factor is that I'm one of those people who LIKES exercise and likes the endorphins it provides. My…

You might try Stitch Fix. you put in your size and "themes" of what you like and they send you a box with about 5 items. What I love about it is they also send a card with photos of different ways to wear the items. You will know you have on trend items that fit. I still use it as a treat on my birthday - really cool…

Thank you for this thread WaterLily82! Just what I needed. My reason today mirrors many of the previous posts. I have a 12 week old new bionic hip and have just lost a loved one, both are keeping me in the endorphin-less space. It will get better, but for today - I want to wear my cut off jean shorts out of my house. They…

to wear my favorite cut off shorts. They go on, they zip but they should not be seen in public YET!! 5 more lbs I'm hoping will do the trick. :)

The comment about your spouse is hitting some nerves.... you are being healthy. Please tell them they need to be supportive overall and negative comments need not be said out loud.

Good Luck, you can do this. You will never regret getting fit for your kiddos -so much more fun. Next time you take pics -smile!

SO many!! Cabbage soup, nothing till 2:30 - coffee & dinner, Jenny Craig, WW, Atkins, pills (fen-fen) - remember that one? IF, low carb. I'm sure there are more I've forgotten. I moved to LA in my mid 20's and realized everyone was very thin. I immediately joined Jenny Craig to look like my friends. I remember when I went…

Some months it feels like cruel joke.....and I'm 15 again! Who wants to do that again? I'm 50, when I was 48 I was having crime scene periods. Having to leave work to change pants, etc. Had an endometrial ablation. They definitely got lighter. Still have them tho.... every 2 weeks, then once a month, then every 3 months,…

That's FOUR sacks of sugar!! Next time you are in the grocery, try to hold up 4 sacks - you'll be amazed that you used to carry that around every day. Congrats!

50! New hip in Feb, excruciating pain and no movement prior - plus I want to wear all the cute golf clothes this spring and summer. On the road to loose 25. Down 5.6.

You look like a different person! Look at your face! Fantastic job - all of us here know how hard it is. Be proud.

Onion and red pepper cut up. Frozen Chicken thighs. 2 cans chopped green peppers. One pack taco seasoning. High for about 6-8 hours. Stir. Delish! I've also made it with skirt steak vs chicken, very good as well.

I lost 25 lbs in 2020. Tore labrum in hip - just had replacement surgery 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, gained every last bit back and then about 10 more. My body has a completely different shape!! Friends have been bringing food which I've stopped and I'm walking about 20 mins 3x a day with a cane. Beyond frustrated and…

Hi! I'm back again too! I turned 50 last year and b/t Oct and May had put on 30 lbs. Worked really hard, IF and low carb and lost about 25 of it. Then injured hip and subsequently have a torn labrum. Surgery soon - hip replacement. But have gained again in December. I'm determined to pick up all my better habits -water and…

I'd like to add that I had a similar experience in March and April and finally found that walking was not enough of a calorie burn (For my lifestyle) Logging 10-12,000 steps was awesome but doing 30 min HIIT classes made me sweat and took less time and are MUCH easier to fit into my day than 2 hour long hikes. Of course, I…

Everyone's body is different. Low carb keeps me more satiated for longer periods than low fat. I can loose and maintain weight more consistently following a lower carb lifestyle. And really we are all more likely to be consistent with things that come a little easier. My 2 cents! Good luck!

IF has worked for me in the past and is working for me again. Basically cuts out a meal - I choose breakfast. Eat first meal around 11-1 - I find after several days I'm not hungry until then. I do combine it with low carb and exercise. Seems to be the only formula for this body. Hope that helps - read all you can about it…

You are not alone - it's happening everywhere. The things that are working for me are: logging food & exercise, IF, low carbs and drinking only for occasion ( someone's birthday - not the occasion of "I'm bored on Tuesday ). It's really really tough, I have never struggled so much with weight. Having college kids home who…

I'm walking a ton. Joined a 10,000 steps a day challenge with neighborhood friends and that has helped to keep me motivated. Im in California, and the first 6 weeks I think i was in shock/fear. Drinking and eating too much. I'm back on board here - sheltering in place is bad enough - I don't need to be sheltering in…

I like the Arizona Green tea concentrate. Add to a giant Thermoflask of ice water - no calories and great tea taste. Add an artificial sweetener if you like. Just a squirt in the thermos.

Height: 5'9" HW: 185 CW: 180.6 GW: 167 I've been super stuck at 183 for the past month. Changed jobs and am much more physical than prior desk job. I exercise 5x a week for at least 60 mins and have discovered slow Yoga which helps immensely with peace and stretching. I've been toying with eating more calories overall (was…

After reading the above and using the TDEE calculator I think I am not eating enough calories. I've been around 1400 (including exercise) and the TDEE says 1800!! What??!! I am not seeing movement on scale however, hovering at 183. Very active so perhaps this is right. Has anyone experienced this? Thank you.

Hi! I'm so happy to find you ladies. I'm 5'10" and lost 14 lbs earlier this year. Was so happy at 165!! Did it slowly with lots of exercise and reducing calorie intake. I'm 47. Enjoyed my body and not wearing spanx ... ever again! Then my job changed this summer and became sedentary. I put every single pound back on…
