  • Osteoarthritis is generally when you're older, rheumatoid is much more common when you're younger. My mum had arthritis in her neck when she was 30. My step daughter had a really bad flare up of rheumatoid arthritis when she was 15, but it's controlled now with medication. I'm 42 and I have pain in my left hip which my…
  • It's not about not changing over time. That's reasonable. It's about respecting your partner enough to take care of yourself. You can't turn into a fat pig and then say "you should love me no matter what". That's disrespectful, and unreasonable IMO. People have a right to have standards. If you take care of yourself, and…

  • I'm getting married in October too :D
  • And all three of you who quoted me just proved my point. Although it was a tongue in cheek comment, also known as a joke ... but I guess you just to hangry to get it, huh?

  • Increase your protein target. Problem solved. My macros are 20g carbs 106g protein and 106g fat.
  • The bottom line is that yes, most people who "go on a diet" and lose weight at some point or other go "off the diet" and gain it all back and then some. The whole concept of "going on a diet" is pretty much setting you up to fail. It indicates an end date. A point in time in the future where you can "return to normal".…
  • I lost my Dad last year, and had a week off to deal with everything including packing up his house - I'm an only child and did not have any assistance. It was tough. I didn't think about my eating, but I've been Keto for over 4 years and it's habit now, I don't reach for junk food anymore (although I had a couple of…
  • My partner is pretty good. He lacks self control himself, he is a big snacker and doesn't really care what he eats, but he has an active job so he's not huge. Carries a bit of extra weight but he's not worried about it. He has, however, taken the time to understand what foods are low carb and what aren't, and he's learned…
  • You can't build muscle without food. You got skinnier when you were swimming because you were burning more fuel and not eating enough. The only way you'll gain weight and bulk up is to eat more. Not even more volume, you can add calories to your day by eating higher fat, nuts and dairy and other foods that are calorie…
  • I don't exercise. I walk to the bus, and ride my horse once a week, but other than that I'm lazy AF. I've lose 85lbs. Your body burns calories every when you're not doing anything, exercise is NOT required for weightloss.
  • I know what you mean. I eat Keto and I get attacked all the time. I've even had inboxes from carb lovers telling me that Keto is stupid and restrictive and has no benefit whatsoever and I'm stupid and naïve for telling people that it works. And I'd just like to point out that there are some "dieticians" and "personal…

  • My mum had rheumatoid arthritis in her neck from when she was 30. I can't say I'm surprised, hence probably why I put going to the doctor off for so long. If it's not diagnosed I'm just sore. I am, however, outraged over being robbed of 100 calories when I have to work for every little weight loss (lucky to lose a lb a…
  • I walk a lot, not sure the furthest in one go, but I've hit 40,000 steps on my tracker a couple of times. I often jog to get across the road before the crossing signal goes solid red.
  • Was this an adult? Was he special needs? I mean, seriously wtf.
  • Might look into other alternatives. Krill oil is another option. I was just annoyed as I bought a 200 capsule tub, and the pills are really big, and the Doctor (and the recommendation on the tub) say 5 capsules for joint inflammation. I scanned the barcode to get the 20 cals per capsule.
  • Please do your readers a favour and proof read before you post something, even if you're on a mobile phone. I don't know what half of that says.
  • I like awkward. Especially if I've made it awkward for everyone else. I consider my work to be done.
  • I'm 43, have a desk job and a busy life, have lost 85lbs and I'm still roughly 25lbs overweight. I will lose those remaining lbs. It's taken me 4 years to get here. I lose about 1lb a month - on 1400 cals (1700 cals in the early day). Before now, I tried to lose weight for 20+ years. I'd lose a few lbs, gain them all back…
  • No way to guess calorie content based on a description. You MIGHT be able to try and log it once you can see it and guess at the weights of the individual items. But then you have no way of knowing what's in the gravy, how much butter or oil in the cooking etc. Log it as close as you can, and accept that it's not going to…
  • Lol, you talk to people like this in RL? Or you just a bully on the internet? Good for you.
  • I agree with you in principle. However unfortunately many fitness trackers vastly overestimate calorie burn and eating back all of the calories your fitbit reckons you burned (even if it's talking out of it's *kitten*) can often mean people aren't losing any weight and can't work out why. I try not to eat back the 300 or…
  • People care because they work out so they can eat more, and they want to know how much more they can eat. It has nothing to do with whether they're working hard or not.
  • My ribs look like that lying down and I'm 15kg overweight.
  • Lose skin will get better over time, and tends to be worse if you lose weight too quick. A few months ago I had a line going down from my belly button and the skin was soft and saggy, but now it's pretty much smooth, just takes time. Eating low carb has also made a big difference to me, no more bloat or water weight.
  • Not true. Your fat and protein are calculated based on your calorie target for weight loss. 20g carbs, protein @ 0.6g to 0.8g per LEAN lb of body mass (not total) and fat to make up the rest of the calories. Your carbs are a limit, your protein is a target. As you lose weight and your total calorie goal lowers you still…
  • I think it's possible to love someone whether they're thin or fat, however we like what we like. If you are physically attracted to someone and they change significantly, and you're no longer physically attracted to them, then that hurts your relationship. I was over 100kg when I met my fiancé three years ago. It might…
  • Yeah I don't think it's my mattress, that's only 12 months old and was a good, expensive one. I don't favour the left side, I can't even sleep on that side, it gets unbearably uncomfortable after only a minute or two. Lately I can't sleep on my back as even that puts pressure on my left seat bone, and I can't sleep for…
  • Weight loss is entirely due to what you stick in your mouth. If you eat less calories than your body uses you will lose weight. Having said that, walking or any form of activity will make you use more calories in your day, allowing you to possibly eat a bit more and still lose weight. But walking and still eating too much…
  • It's been a week. A stall is no weight loss for like 5 to 6 weeks. I generally only lose during one week a month. The rest of the time I stay pretty much exactly the same. Monday I was 86.0kg. Same with Tuesday, and Wednesday, and today. It's not a stall, it's just the way it is. Next week I might drop 0.5kg overnight.
