Coconut flour tastes like coconut. I've tried it in a few baking things and they always taste funky (not in a good way). Almond flour is my go to for all keto cooking.

Carbs are a limit, protein is a target (based on your LEAN body mass, and never changes) and fat is the rest. This is why percentages don't work. Your weight loss calorie limit reduces as your weight reduces (so you need less calories at, say, 200 lbs to lose weight than you did at 250 lbs). When you reduce your calories,…

Yes, too lazy to do a google :)

I lost 110lbs without exercising. I just ride my horse once a week and do the normal amount of walking around during the day (around 4000 steps). I have a desk job. Diet for weightloss, exercise for fitness.

OP here :) It's now been 5 and a half years and 110lbs lost. Still eating Keto 99% of the time, although I take a break from tracking here and there, and keep an eye on my weight. If I gain a little I make myself track again. I just wanted to expand on (9.) Go easy on the saturated fat. After 4 years of bacon and butter my…

Probably been said but based on my 5 years keto, and now low carb experience I can categorically say that tracking my foods and restricting my calories is the single reason I have lost 110lbs. Eating keto and now low carb and the associated reduction in hunger is the single reason I have been able to stick to it. Fat is…

Ok, good to know. I won’t use it again. Thanks.

My dad died last year at 68 from diabetes complications. 11 of his siblings are type two. At 38 I was insulin resistant/pre diabetic and 123kg. Today at 43 I am completely free of any issues and 79kg. My doctor says I am in no danger of developing diabetes. I have no doubt whatsoever I would now be full blown diabetic if I…

I had nothing but problems between mfp and my Apple Watch. The Apple app uses a different algorithm to track activity and the two never synced right. I tried all the forums and even contacted Apple but there was no solution. Ended up getting rid of it and buying a Fitbit blaze. Which is working perfectly and has become…

Good to see this post still helping people. Nearly 5 years in and I stand by all of these points. I do agree that some people don’t need to weigh and track everything, but most people - those who have been long term overweight and can’t intuitively know what’s “enough” will struggle to simply eyeball portions and lose…

I'm not worried about this. Other fitness trackers I used gave me alot of steps for a 2 hour ride. I only eat back about a quarter of the calories, but it is quite a workout so it's fine.

I ride my horse and I go to the gym 3 times a week. Treadmill and rowing machine mainly. I'm not a runner.
-
I'm 15lbs from goal. Lost 100lbs. But I'm still a G cup. I have never been nor will I ever be a runner.

I thought I read somewhere that since early this year it works with ios also but I can find the google page.

Yep still around and sitting at 79.7kg from a start weight of over 120kg. Not losing much at the moment and eating alot less calories than I started with. Goal weight is 70kg but I think it's going to take a while. I still track every day but don't have much time to get on the forums with my new job. It's been 4 and a half…

And now, an hour later, mfp says I've only burned 23 cals not 89. Wtf is going on with this thing.
-
In fact. The apple health app says I've burned 400 cals under "active energy" - calories burned for actual exercise so ehy does MFP only show 89 calories? Is there a way to set this up so it actually works?
-
Yep did all of that and finally got it to sync but it GROSSLY underestimates my calorie burn. I have MyFitnessPal activity set to sedentary and the apple setting as light activity like I used to have with my Misfit so that on days where I'm actually active I earn more calories. Today I rode my horse (normally about 400…

When he gets up before you every morning and there's a coffee waiting in a travel mug for you to grab on the way out the door. When he texts you every lunch time to ask how your day's going. When he puts the bin out without having to be asked, or sees you cleaning on a Saturday morning and pulls the vacuum cleaner out to…

I find this hard too. What can work is allowing yourself a 5lb buffer. Still watch what you eat, of course. But allow yourself to eat out and have that icecream if you want. Keep an eye on the scales. If you get to the top of your buffer, cut calories until you get back to the bottom. Don't let it blow out of control.

I work as an events coordinator in the disability sector (government). Today is my last day. I start a new job on Monday with a partner organisation working out in the community with people with a disability. A chance to actually get out of the office and make a difference, with the added bonus of more money and a car.

This. It's like when people say OMG I'M SO OCD. No. You're not. You're an idiot. If you were actually OCD you'd know it's not funny or cute or interesting. It's soul destroying and controls your whole life, it's a real debilitating disorder, not a quirky personality trait.

Yep, just like putting a ski jacket on will help you cool down in summer.

You've been doing it for a week. You're not weighing your food when you log it because you've been doing it for years so you know that item of food you ate weighed exactly X grams. And you haven't weighed yourself on the scale. So you don't really know that you're eating 1300 calories and you don't really know if you've…

My fiance gets up at about 7:30 and makes us a cuppa, then sits down in front of the tv and eats nuts, biscuits, chips, lollies, all sorts of rubbish. I used to as well. Now, I skip breakfast, and have about 300 calories left over for after dinner. I've been doing this for the whole time I've been trying to lose weight and…

Yep, today I am 2lb up from yesterday. I feel "fat". It'll pass.

Yeah, had some unpleasant inbox stalking. Didn't want to delete my account unless I have to.

I ended up frying it with some hot smoked salmon, red onion, garlic, ginger, cumin, turmeric, salt and pepper. I was quite sceptical, but it really was like rice. I'm going to buy another bag and make some hash browns.

ISTJ Funny, in the past I've always got "E" not "I" but recent times have turned me into someone who really doesn't like people, being social, or interaction of any kind. I am an extrovert in a work situation - I am not shy in any way and in fact do public speaking, it's just in my heart of hearts I want to go home and…
