I eat them with a bit of mashy brown rice, ground flax seeds and boiled spinach, with some tabasco or sriracha mixed in for a kick.

Count me in! I too was here about a year ago and ready to start again.

2 months is not long at all, it's good to know it won't take me a year, for instance. (I doubt I can ever cycle 24 km though!!!). I took a saunter in the park today, way below my usual speed, short, just to get things moving. Let's hope I can build it up more slowly this time. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you, definitely guzzling the water

That sounds like a good plan. I've always felt so *guilty* for not doing more intense exercise though. Slow and steady, I guess.

Ah that gives me hope!

I weighed 62.6 when I joined MFP and am 5'6" tall - and that's what it gave me. Tbh I've been over it half the time (was wondering how to be below, in fact).

PS: I've been really ill since Saturday so haven't filled the diary - before that I was pretty regular though. Not that I've consumed much while ill - too nauseous.

I've opened it - thanks for taking a look!

Yes! I am vegetarian and try to be gluten-free and dairy free. Gulten-free is fairly easy, dairy-free is not because I do like a good block of cheese and yogurt and I get paranoid about protein levels and gut bacteria. But I feel a lot better off dairy (esp since its really hard to find organic dairy around here) so I need…

Well in my case there were no antibodies. Just high TSH, though normal free T3 and free T4. No hair loss, but sudden weight gain, yes. I no longer have high TSH, thankfully. Didn't go to an endocrinologist because I did not want to take lifelong medication and wanted to see if diet and exercise would bring the levels back…

First you need to get an anti-TPO test done - which checks whether your hypothyroid condition is auto-immune (Hashimoto's) or not. There is a whole regime to treat Hashimoto's. As far as I know, it is a chronic conditon, like Lyme disease or Crohn's disease or Type 1 diabetes. It has to be managed. In my case, I did not…

Hi there, I don't see how I recmmended to the OP or anyone that they get off thyroid medication! I suggested OP go get it checked! All I did was recommend exercise in addition to cuting calories. Further, there has indeed been medical research showing a correlation between thyroid function and yes - exercise:…

I agree that you should get checked. I have been hypo - weight gain, depression and dry skin were all a part of it. Also, if you are starting on a fitness plan - important to exercise as well as cut calories. I have managed to bring my TSH levels down to within range without medication. None of the doctors believe me but a…

I have just run into the same problem. I usually run a 90/60 - and it's never caused dizziness or fainting spells. My heart rate has also tended to hover in the 80s and 90s. A year ago, the BP started showing 70/55 - again no fainting or dizziness but yes I did feel fatigue and depression (and didn't know until I just…

I am aiming for better muscle tone and 123 kg. That's what I weighed when I was 40, and then in 2 years I suddenly went to 137. (Started working from home, for one thing) I don't mind being big (for much of my skinny youth I desperately wanted to be bigger), but I feel heavy in an unhealthy way now, and that's my reason…

Thanks, breda!

I started yesterday. I am at 140, trying to get to 120. I have a paunch and a lot of weight around my waist and hips, which is distressing for my self image, as well as, I believe, bad for my heart. I find it hard to go and exercise everyday though twice this week I took a brisk walk for 2.5 miles.
