I'm with MidModJenn, eating paleo really helped a lot with blood sugar control!
-
I've been eating paleo for 3 months, so I'm somewhat new to it. But right away, I feel like my blood sugar got better controlled. I've never been diagnosed with anything like diabetes or hypoglycemia, but before paleo, I was hungry ALL THE TIME and felt like I needed to eat ever 2-3 hours or I'd start getting light headed…

I follow paleo also! I'm fairly new at at it, been eating paleo for 3 months. Will add you!

Hello, I'm Trista. Not sure if anyone is around, but I'll say hi!

I use a heart rate monitor. I got mine on Amazon. It's a Polar watch and it uses the strap you put over your chest. I think I got mine for $45. I think.

I agree with samanthaluangphixy. I had thought about waiting too. But upon research, decided I would start strength training now. One reason being that cardio burns calories while you're doing it. Strength training burns calories during and then continues to burn after. That right there had me sold!

Love Leslie Sansone! Also, as others have mentioned, Jessica Smith on YouTube has lots of free walking workouts. She also has DVDs you can buy.

I say whichever one you can stick with. I eat clean some of the time, but it's not perfect. You have to find something that you're willing to do for the long haul.

I think the 300-400 is totally reasonable. Then again, I think working out for 30 min to an hour max is plenty also. I've seen people that post that they burned 1,000 calories but they spent 2.5 hours on elliptical. Which by the way I am always like

You did really great!

I do not have celiac, which was surprising because I had a lot of the symptoms. Naturopath recommended an elimination diet to see if we could figure out what was causing my abdominal pain and cramping. The list was daunting, so I started with the first item on the list which was gluten. 3 days without gluten and I felt…

You can add me! I'm on mfp every day!

I'll join in! I've got about 55 pounds left to go. I log on and track every day. My progress has been super slow, but it is coming off!
-
My co-workers have commented that they notice my weight loss in the face, neck, shoulder area. Now if it was just my belly, but I'll get there!
-
Great job!

Katie, I follow you on Instagram (I'm hey.thats.good) so it was fun to see your story here! I've been reading through these boards the past few days. It helps to see that it is possible! I was just wondering if you still tracked your food?
-
You look so happy! Job well done!
-
Amazing! Just like you I like to browse these boards. I hope to be here someday myself!

Great work!

I agree, YouTube is an awesome resource! BeFit, JessicaSmithtv and Fitnessblender are my 3 favs!

My son and I had a little dinner date. We did have pizza, which was fine, I tracked it. He wanted to get frozen yogurt, so I did let him have some frozen yogurt. I passed on it this time, though. It's so hard to tell how much you're getting at those places, and the toppings can really add up! I waited until we were home…

Nice work!

That's so great! Thank you for sharing your story!

I'll be a support buddy! I'm looking to lose 75 pounds. Taking it in small chunks, though. The goal for the moment is to lose 15.

Wow, I'm surprised this thread isn't more popular! I had to hunt down non-scale victories! Anyway, I had a little dinner date with my son tonight. We had pizza, then he wanted to get frozen yogurt. I did count the calories for the pizza of course. But...when I took him to get the frozen yogurt, I didn't buy any for myself…

You're doing great!
