  • Wow thanks @lynn_glenmont I didn't know that about coffee. I have added most of my fresh foods manually to add the potassium.
  • In theory I don't see why not, as long as you don't eat more than you burn at the weekend so you don't put any weight on.
  • What kind of vegetables or other foods for that matter do you eat for the potassium. I already eat sweet potatoes, bananas and dates but am trying to keep my blood pressure down and I know potassium is good for this.
  • I was checking your diary to see how you get a low in sugar diet, which you have, but I notice you're very high in fat, cholesterol and sodium.
  • 1.5 litres of water in 3 hours is definitely not too much water. It's only half a litre an hour. Maybe it's because you stopped drinking all the pop suddenly.
  • I think it's know what I mean by "natural sugar" sugars in fruit etc not processed sugar in cakes or candy. But also confirms what the doctor said. Too much sugar is too much sugar no matter what the source.

  • I asked my doctor about sugar intake, telling him most of the sugar I eat is from fruit. He told me sugar is sugar no matter from what source and should still be careful on how much you eat. Obviously natural sugars are better for you, but you can still have too much sugar even from natural sources. I try to keep my sugar…

  • Porridge with soya milk, blueberries and banana. Very filling and delicious.
  • I'm the same 2 years ago I lost weight easily and quickly and now I'm finding it harder (I'm doing exactly the same as last time too, weighing food and exercising) so it could be due to being perimenapause.
  • I use this online converter for both sodium to salt and salt to sodium http://oxsalt.org.uk/db/?page_id=37
  • Dates are a good source of potassium.
  • Everyone basically eats breakfast as breakfast is literally the first meal of the day so you could eat as soon as you get up or hours later it is still classed as a breakfast
  • When I first tried to lose weight in my 20's admittedly it was to look good, fit into clothes and so others would like me and that was hell. All I cared about was losing weight and getting thinner and I was never happy no matter how much weight I lost. Now 20 yrs later its more about getting to a healthy weight, doing it…
  • You could try lettuce wraps instead of using bread. Or a cous cous salad with chicken.
  • I'm low in iron too and take iron tablets (don't take with caffeine or foods with calcium though as that stops the absorption) but I also try get iron from food too like dark leafy greens (spinach or kale) seeds, nuts, Bran flakes, tofu, kidney beans, apricots, broccoli.
  • I don't have cheat days because I'm enjoying what I'm eating on my diet. If I feel like I want pizza, I'd rather make my own and use healthier ingredients, that way I feel good about what I've eaten and enjoyed it. If I want chocolate (which is rare for me) I'll eat a healthier option like a Nakd bar or something and count…
  • I have anxiety just visiting the doctors which makes it very hard when taking my blood pressure as it's always high because of this. So I feel your pain
  • I think the fact you say you "estimated" TDEE tells you something, also your fitbit takes into account any activities you've been doing where as MFP doesn't
  • I don't have cheat meals, I count anything I eat into my calories for the day and if I know I'm going to have a high calorie meal one day, I'll do more exercise so it fits into my calorie allowance.
  • Is that 18g of sugar added sugar or from natural ingredients?
  • Thanks for all your help
  • I don't go by weight anymore as sometimes the scale may say I've lost nothing or 1lb, but my clothes can feel looser, so now I go by how my clothes fit rather than whether the scales go up or down. There's also a lot of things can influence your weight, like muscle mass or water weight which can fluctuate all the time.
  • Don't forget large quantities of protein can be harmful.
  • I buy a lot of frozen veg and meat as it keeps for longer and is usually cheaper. I try buy fruit that lasts longer too like apples and bananas or dried fruit rather than grapes or berries that are usually eaten quickly.
  • Mine is spread out through out the day, usually 300 cals for 3 main meals and 200 cals for 3 snacks during day. It doesn't affect your weight loss though the time of day you eat as long as you're eating less calories than you're burning.
  • You don't want to eat too much protein though, if you're not exercising or doing loads of weight lifting, it can be bad for your liver.
  • I agree for me it's a lifestyle change, but each person finds what works for them. You don't have to eat clean or healthy to lose weight, you just have to eat less calories than what you burn.
  • I agree, does the packaging give nutritional value for the chicken cooked or frozen.
  • I drink Kenco instant coffee, usually 2 cups a day, black no sugar, no calories.

  • My Doctor must have lied to me then, because I asked him about eating too much sugar, even in fruits and he told me too much can cause diabetes so try cut it down.
