  • I also have a Garmin vivoactive and personally for me. I ignore what Garmin connect and mfp say. All I am concerned about is how much I am putting into my body. Trackers give only estimates. I find people get obsessive compulsive over numbers. Where most of the time those numbers are wrong. Keep doing what you are doing…
  • Congrats on breaking free. I don't log that much and I have lost over 20 lbs. Half way to my goal. All this app did was teach me portion size for myself.I consider myself smart enough to remember a portion size. Who really cares if I am off my 20 calories? When it comes down to that it's obsessive compulsive behaviour If…
  • Your fitbit calorie burn is 90 percent based on what your body burns staying alive. Don't get it confused with actuall calories burned through exercise. Big mistake people make thinking they are burning massive calories and eat more. When that's not the case I am 5 2. And i have lost 18 lbs. Creating a calorie deficit with…
  • I won't eat low fat labeled foods. Ocne you start to remove elements others are added or increased. Fat itself doesn't make you fat. Healthy fats are good for you . I find a lot of people over look sugar and how much of it is in our foods especially with food labeled as low fat etc Next time you are in the dairy isle…
  • So you want people to fat shame to motivate you ? I am sorry but this logic isn't mentally healthy.
  • Not really. Considreng a portion size is 3-4 ounces
  • An at home tip. I love my coffee with cream so I opted for a lower fat. I use a large mug and found it tedious to measure out tablespoons. So I take a shot glass and use that. Three tablespoons fills my shot glass.and it keeps me consitant
  • Drink when your thirsty. The color of your urine will tell you if your hydrated or not. I don't buy into all of this so many glasses or ounces a day.thingy. Your thirst and urine color is accurate of what you need
  • To the op. Do you drink coffee tea soda etc. Along those lines
  • These last three weeks I stopped weighing my foods. guess what. I gained a pound. Best assured that today after grocery shopping I prepped and weighed all my food for this coming week. Gaining a pound was enough for me to understand I have to weigh my foods. Such great advice on this thread. Please consider it.
  • Congrats on the weight loss !! I personally don't agree with all the advice on boosting her confidence with constant I love you or beautiful etc. Telling your partner you love him or her is a given. Having to feed their ego or boost their confidence daily is emotionally exhausting. Keep at what you are doing. This is for…
  • Anything science/space related
  • ❤Yoga! My first time, class was 70 minutes. It kicked my butt. Holding your poses is about strength and flexibility. If you do it regularly you will see an improvement. Your local YMCA may have some classes.
  • I decided that looking at the WHOLE number for weight loss was to overwhelming. I decided to break it into 5 x 10lb mini goals. As of last week I lost 13lbs, so i crossed it off my list and said to myself " i think i need to loose 10lbs" its like a mental reset ;)
  • You have to really want it. Flippy and SJ have given you good advice, but you really have to want it. Needing and wanting are two different things. If you want it, it will come from with in and you wont stop, its like an unknown force that drives you. You wont need to seek motivation from others because that motivation…
  • This whole thread has made me sad :(
  • I am 5'2 and I had a hard time with 1200. I upped mine to 1350. Those extra 150 calories let's me have a fun snack if I want. I am happy with my meals and I don't feel like I am under eaeting. For people to say 1200 your eating to little. No. Trying being a shorty :( lol
  • i opted not to eat "low fat" anything, accept my milk is 1 %. the lower the fat, the higher the sugar content. i did try low fat cottage cheese, but um, no.never again lol
  • I wouldn't eat raw kale too much as its rather hard on the digestive system and can cause some issues if you have a low thyroid.
  • Sorry you feel this way. But walking is considered the best form of low impact exercise. Excersise isn't all about finishing in a pool of sweat. Its getting up and moving your body. As an avid walker I am slightly insulted by your comment as I am sure other walkers are too. I will leave this here…
  • Feel free to add me. Same name as here :)
  • I have had the hr charge for just under a year and my garmin vivoactive arrived today. I switched because the fitbit isn't waterproof and I wish I had researched other activity monitors before. Don't get me wrong Fitbit is great but limited. Before shelling out money for an activity tracker assess your needs so you don't…
  • Walking is great ! Start with 20 minutes a day. That's how I started and I am up to 3 miles a day after a month
  • i have lost as of this morning 10.3 lbs and i see a different in my stomach and in my face.
  • Kid Rock - For the First Time <3 Well anything by him. I have a dedicated playlist of his music I walk to
  • Because you already have back problems, regardless that its because of your weight, it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to go to your dr and discuss what activities you can do, safely. Just remember though before any activity, even walking, stretch, not just your legs, but your arms, neck back and core. Everything. Walking is…
  • Omg love that outfit <3
  • I don't blindly take advice. I question everything and there are some doctors out there who are very health and fitness minded. My mom's doctor is a tri athtlete I believe and in my 20's I was a body builder. I trust my own knowledge and I do trust my doctor.
  • That's fine. This all started because I said those who are shorter have a smaller window for error in calorie counting and someone said I was making an excuse for my height and that basically my doctor knows nothing. So yeah. I was responding to the original poster
