  • Agnelfire356, the answer to that is yes. Yes it is worth it, 100%. The improved health, those moments of catching your reflection and thinking "wow!" (and those *will* happen). Yep. A picture is just a capture of a single moment. The lighting, camera angle, awkward pose, a bad hair day, unplanned gust of wind--any of those…
  • I've been "the chubby one" (at the least) since as early as I can remember--have always been overweight to one degree or another. I went all through primary, junior high, high school & college having to shop specialty sizes. My highest recorded weight was 260...may have been higher, but that's my "official" number from the…
  • Thanks for the kind words everyone--they help me get through the rough moments!
  • Thanks! I started off on Weight Watchers for several months, using their points system. Once I left that, it was just portion control, logging food here on MFP, making sure to get some form of exercise daily--lots of walking, some strength training.
  • Thanks everyone! Actually I'm smaller than I was in high school--lol! I started off doing Weight Watchers, so I don't know what my actual calories were at that point. Did that for a number of months then decided I wasn't really using enough of the tools to justify the cost. Found MFP & went forward from there.…
  • I've been on this weightloss adventure for 20 months now--have lost 100 lbs, over 18 points off my BMI, several of my meds and many of my "everyday" aches and pains I used to have.
  • I think there's a social stigma about discussing weight with a female, particularly. My husband has been by my side throughout this weight-loss/get healthy adventure--at one point when we were out shopping together several people us & "ooh-ed & aahhh-ed" over how good he looked & how much he'd lost (about 15 lbs, at that…
  • What's blown me away is the number of people who *don't* believe me when I tell them I'm down 84 pounds by portion control, mindful eating & exercise! I've heard "surrrrre, you didn't have the surgery" more times than anyone should (& no, there's nothing wrong with weight loss surgery--it's just not what I did), & been…
  • Thanks for the suggestions & information. Due to some issues with my feet, the Asics were suggested & have been amazing--if I find my feet are flared up, I can switch out to them & count on having my feet settle back down quickly. Will definitely look into 6pm.com & see if they ship to Canada.
  • bumping this up, hoping for responses
  • I have just binge-read this entire thread & come to a conclusion: WE ARE ALL FREAKING AMAZING, regardless of where we are in this journey! Some things that have surprised me:* The knee-thing--urgh! * The overall health benefits that happened *so* fast (ie: high blood pressure, asthma, reflux--all gone, off all meds, so…
