I dont do an ab day, but a few of my fav exercises are planks with forearms on the bosu. Sit ups and side sit ups on the bosu as well. Theyre more gentle on my lower back

I have the exact same problem. But I do find planning out what Im going to eat the day before does help. Somedays its just rough though and I cant stop eating & grazeing. Thats when I chug a lot of water, I try to get in more than a gallon on those days so itll help move everything right on through.

Ive never heard of weaning yourself off of synthroid. I only have half a thyroid so its synthroid for life. Best of luck though if its doable to get off of it!
