Hey everyone. I have been working out consistently for 10 weeks. I work out 3 to 4 days a week and I alternate between upper body and lower body days. My problem is "Abs Day". I don't have much knowledge about effective routines. Also, I don't want to look silly/incompetent in my local gym. I end up skipping this day.

I need help making up a good routine for a beginner (and general support )

My stats:
Starting weight 210
Current weight 199
Goal weight 145
Age 26
Height 5'2

Thanks

You don't need an Abs day. Toss in a few sets at the end of your workout a few times a week if it's that big of a concern.

I dont do an ab day, but a few of my fav exercises are planks with forearms on the bosu. Sit ups and side sit ups on the bosu as well. Theyre more gentle on my lower back

    Two things:

    1. you don't need a whole day devoted to abs; and
    2. as a beginner you shouldn't be making up your own routines, leave that to someone who hopefully knows point 1. There are plenty of free workout programs online devised by people who have heaps of exerience in this area, why not take advantage of that.

Either hire a good trainer or follow a good program, like NROLFW, Stronglifits, etc.

I don't do an abs day. My abs get plenty of training on my other days - compound lifts, crossfit, rowing, Kettlebells, running and yoga.
