  • I like Taco Cabana better, but I never turn down Chipotles.
  • Awesome. I have a mountain a block away at the end of my street. I live halfway up the last, littlest Rocky mountain. I usually keep my 'monsters' under the bed, lol.
  • I'm a 38DD. I like Champion style 6209 sports bras. They have under wires and give good and comfortable support for the moderate exercise that I do. They also have bra-style clasp back closures rather than the wiggle in method.
  • I would not go about wearing just a sport bra, regardless of how good I looked in it. I wouldn't go about in a bikini top unless I was swimming. I do wear sport bras under a tshirt or swimsuit for water sports as I haven't met the swimming gear that can handle DDs. I also wear a sport bra when I am in the position to have…
  • We ate at a barbecue place and I said no to my usual choice of pulled pork, no to my usual side of macaroni and cheese, no to the roll, and no to adding sugar to the BBC sauce and drowning my meat in it as I usually do. Instead I had bone dry chicken breast with just a dab of sauce, and had red beans and rice for one side,…
  • I am currently using the free version of the program so I think it defaulted to 2 lbs per week. Insufficient calories isn't a problem, the first few days I had a heckuva time eating the 1200. Portion size isn't my problem, it's low quality high carb fast junk food. I plan to upgrade to the paid version in September so I…
  • It was a lot of fun, and no muscle soreness after. But it was a pretty light workout. I really think it's designed for people who need low impact exercises.
  • Once upon a time, Coke and Pepsi had cocaine in them. It's where Coke got its name and put the pep in Pepsi. Cocaine was made illegal, and sales plummetted, so both began adding caffeine to replace the pick - me - up from the cocaine. I have heard that worldwide more people are addicted to caffeine than any other…
  • I started using coconut oil because some folks believe it can help prevent alzheimers, which has taken out the previous 3 generations of women in my family. I know it's all supposition at this point but if there was a possibility that wearing my clothes backwards would slow or prevent alzheimers I'd be learning to button…
  • It depends on what you are cooking and at what temperature, and how absorbant the food is. If the food is absorbant, like pancakes, then you will be eating all that oil. If the food is moist like most vegetables and adds water when sauteed to the oil rather than absorbing it, and if you eat only the vegetables and throw…
  • Try edamame pasta. Since tofu is in your list I would think soybeans would be as well, but check with your doctor. Edamame pasta contains nothing but soybeans, it's got twice as much prot e in as carbs and would give you the pasta feeling. But as I recall a single serving would use all your carbs for the day so maybe you'd…
  • I wish I lived somewhere berries are cheap, I love them. But I just paid $4 for a pint of blueberries. Raspberries (my favorite!) And blackberries are that much per half pint. I find that adding a couple of spoonfuls of fat free half and half cuts the sharp taste of the yogurt. I make a very light dessert topping by…
  • The 2oz serving of dry pasta, once cooked, is about 6oz, and each dish got two ladles of sauce. It pretty much filled up a breakfast cereal bowl. I had workout calories left but I was full and didn't want anything else. I was also pleased to find that the pasta had little flavor, I was afraid it would have a strong soybean…
  • LOL, here in West Texas Pico De Gallo is equal parts tomato, onion and jalapeno, with lime and sometimes cilantro for seasoning. Despite being a gringa born and raised back east, I couldn't go a day without Pico de Gallo and Salsa Verde with tomatillos and green chile.
  • Breakfast outside this morning, it was a beautiful day. Fresh blueberries on Greek 2% yogurt with mango, thinned with a little fat free half and half. I put a bowl of ice under it so I could eat it at my leisure while working on art projects. White tea with melon flavoring. Lunch was eggs scrambled with pico de gallo,…
  • Costco and Sams both have excellent white meat chicken canned in water. 2oz Kirkland (Costco) chicken is 60 calories, 13g protein, 1g fat, 0g carbs, 270mg sodium. I use it quite often, most often on top of salad.
  • So I joined Planet Fitness, and my best friend and I go 3 days per week. We do 30 minutes on the treadmill (25mins brisk walking plus cool down), then go to the weight area and work our way down the arm and chest machines and up the ab and leg machines (about 20 machines) spending about 45 minutes at this, then finish up…
  • I love your answers, folks. I have always struggled with this sugar thing on these diet trackers. I don't consume HFCS (just don't like the stuff), but I eat quite a lot of fruit, mostly fresh, and sweet vegetables such as corn and beets. I usually use Stevia when sweetening things, but some recipes need cane sugar, it…
  • Singing would bother me if I could hear it, but I work out with earbuds as I need the beat.l I often mouth along with the music, but never sing aloud at the gym. Whistling makes me crazy in any context, it's like nails on chalkboard to me. Also it would be more penetrating than singing, so probably more annoying to…
  • I agree with all the above posters on just skipping the Corral and eating someplace nicer for your vacation. But somehow Chico's Tacos won best local Mexican restaurant in our city with hundreds of awesome family owned Mexican places, and I don't consider Chicos to even be food, much less good food. So different strokes…
  • There's a company called Lesser Evil that makes amazing snacks, organic, healthy ingredients. I am a kettle corn addict, and the Himalayan Sweetness is seriously the best salty-sweet popcorn I have ever had. My only complaint is that it's very hard not to wolf down the whole bag. You can read a useful review of their…
  • Caribbean Style Chicken and Beans, I made this last night and posted the recipe over on recipe swap. New here so not sure what's what. 372 cals, 41.7g carbs, 30.4g protein, 7.9g fat.
  • I steam broccoli and put homemade pasta sauce over that instead of pasta. I make the sauce with fresh tomatoes, long green onions, mushrooms, garlic, spinach and bell peppers sautéed in a little olive oil. I bought some gluten free organic spaghetti made from edamame at Costco but I haven't tried it yet. The nutrition…
  • Howdy. New here too. I am mostly looking for savory recipes lower in carbs and higher in protein as I tend to use up my carb allowance quick and run low on protein as I don't care for meat. :)

  • For me, feeling satisfied has a lot to do with complex flavors. No amount of a single thing makes me feel satisfied. I spray a small skillet with olive oil spray, saute 2 oz pico de gallo while I chop some onion and a roma tomato. Toss those in, let them cook while I scramble two eggs, pour them on top. Flip it like an…
  • Eggs are not so cheap these days but are still one of the cheapest forms of protein. I find my Costco membership a big asset. Whole roasted chicken $5, huge bags of iceberg lettuce $2.50, big bags of dark leafy greens or broccoli for around $5, great canned white meat chicken for around d $2 for a big can. Lots of organic…
  • Hey, I'm 55 and trying to lose 75lbs. Same story, past success didn't stick and menopause makes it super hard to get anywhere.
  • Try to make exercise out of daily tasks. Park at the back of the parking lot. Use the stairs at work if you have them. If you have breaks at work, use them for brisk walks or stair climbing, that can give you 30 mins of cardiovascular a day. When you spend quality time with the kids, make it active play when you can.
