Coffee w/evap. milk and stevia, and a smoothie - frozen berries, soy milk, spinach, flax and chia seed, protein powder (pea/brown rice), collagen powder.

Evaporated milk - it's thicker and creamier than whole milk - and a pinch of Stevia.

My hair is actually healthier. I assume it's because I've been eating much healthier foods for about 3 months. Also, what's really weird is that my eyelashes are getting a little thicker. It's not really noticeable to anyone but me

The Tapeworm Diet. It apparently is legal in Mexico.

Yesterday I pureed 1/4 c. black beans, 1/3 c. leftover mixed veggies, 1 c. chicken broth, and 2 Tblsp. salsa. Added another 1/4 c. black beans and a Tblsp. potato flakes to thicken, heated up and added 1/4 c. shredded cheese. My quick version of black bean soup.

Been on it for 15 years. As long as I eat fewer calories than I burn, I lose weight. (P.S., why is he so anxious to discourage you?)

I used to feed them to the dog but now I just buy egg whites in a carton and mix with whole egg.

I'm in the same boat and agree about leading by example. He's totally uninterested in changing his eating but he's paying attention to the fact that I'm exercising and losing weight (although he's pretending not to.) I'm hoping that at some point he'll decide he can't let his wife be in better shape than he is and he'll…

I'm 55 and struggling to lose. Anyone can add me. No judgment, though, please!

Health. I hate the thought of ending up with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc. If I get there, doctors and nurses and medications will be in control of my life and it will be my fault! I won't willingly give anyone or anything control of my life.

Could there be something medical going on physically? Do you get check-ups with a doc?

I started walking about a month ago. At first I could only do a slow walk (about 2MPH) for 20 minutes and I struggled to do even a short uphill. This morning I did a full hour at 3.4MPH. I've started throwing in a little slow jogging - I could barely lift my knees at first, but it's getting easier and easier. But as it…

Sounds like enormous amounts of stress in the past couple years, which is derailing your emotions and your mental ability to conquer your emotions. Just a couple years ago I went through a horrendous time in my life and gained 20 pounds in 8 months - after spending the previous 2 years losing 30. I had to take a very hard…

In terms of nutrition I know they aren't at all equal. But I'm honestly not sure if the body treats 20 carbs of sugar the same as 20 carbs of bread the same as 20 carbs of vegetables, in terms of losing weight.
-
Yep, lost 30 lbs of the 50 I had to lose a couple years ago and spent a year putting 20 of it back on then another year ignoring it. Recently started again, trying to just focus more on a healthy WOE this time.

What happened to your tat in the second pic?

What is your question?

I mix peas into baked potatoes. I eat plain mustard. I like cold beans. I hate tomatoes on sandwiches but love them in salsa.

I'm feeling very well. I've noticed my blood sugar is more stable - when I do get hungry I no longer get "hangry" and crash if I can't eat immediately. I don't miss carbs nearly as much as I used to miss fat when I was trying to stay away from it.
-
If I like something I'll figure out how to work it into my macros. I used to love anything with sugar but the older I got the more sick it made me feel, so it wasn't really hard to give it up when I decided to switch to a healthier WOE.
-
Thank you.

I notice I'm not as hungry when I drink green tea. I use stevia for sweetening and usually have one cup in morning and one in afternoon.

I quit smoking many years ago by cutting back very slowly. I tried several times to go cold-turkey and just couldn't handle it. I literally counted the cigarettes I was smoking every day and cut out about 1 every 2 or 3 days. It took a long time and sometimes I cheated (just like I do with my WOE now) but in the end it…

For filling foods - brown rice, chili beans, and shredded cheese hold me for hours.

I didn't know a low thyroid could do that to triglycerides? My latest blood work showed very high triglycerides and low thyroid. Doctor upped my thyroid, now I'm wondering if that's what raised my triglycerides.
-
OP, thanks for starting this thread. I'm really confused right now about sat fat, after my last blood work showed high cholesterol and very high triglycerides. I'm doing lots of research myself.
-
7- 8 if my thyroid is working right, 9-10 when it isn't.
-
It would be nice not to worry about sat fat too much.

I am overweight by about 30 lbs. When I got the test results a couple weeks ago was when I came back to MFP and started to get serious again about my diet and exercise. I've starting exercising, walking for 35 - 40 minutes a day most days. I'm slowly getting faster and walking longer and even did a little jogging…

I lost 30 lbs. a few years ago doing almost no exercise. I just controlled my food very, very carefully.
