  • I started by making small changes to my diet, things like eating less chips when I did eat them. I eventually started to really start thinking about food differently and started to see it more as a source of fuel for our bodies vs something we are supposed to sit down and enjoy every day/night. This has really given me a…
  • I usually only have coffee two to three times a week. I actually use it as an appetite suppressant more than anything. I don't require coffee daily to get up and going. However, I do practice intermittent fasting and on days I am struggling to wait until my usual time to eat I do run to Starbucks and grab an iced Americano…
  • I reward myself with things I normally wouldn't have before I lost weight. For example, a new two piece bathing suit, a new tank top, new pair of skinny jeans, shirts that fit a little more snug to my body, etc. Things that before I lost weight I would have been too uncomfortable to wear.
  • 5'3" and 167 lb here. GW is 130ish. I started at 247 lb, so I've been at it for awhile. Would love to have friends with similar stats/goals. Feel free to add me!
  • I weigh in every morning. That way, when I notice I've put on a pound or two I can tighten things up and get back on track sooner. Otherwise, I have a tendency to be an "out of sight, out of mind" person and can easily get off track.
  • My hotel towel wrapped all the way around my body and didn't leave anything exposed, that wasn't always the case!
  • We truly are our toughest critics. That being said, I really didn't notice my loss until nearly 80 lbs. I knew my clothes where fitting differently and my husband was telling me I was losing a ton of weight but I didn't see it in the mirror. One day I was getting ready and I checked my outfit in the mirror and told my…
  • 1. Food will not always control your life, you will someday find happiness without it. 2. You are stronger than you think. 3. Keep going, someday you will meet your goals.
  • I'm a night shift nurse and noticed many of my colleagues would eat throughout the night to keep themselves awake. I was bound and determined to not let this happen to me when I switched to nights and started following a 17:7 fast. It works well with my schedule and I feel full and satisfied. Not to mention I have lost…
  • I am definitely guilty of weighing myself multiple times a day. But, I also understand my body weight trends by now too and just know that I will most likely weigh roughly 2 lbs more before bed than when I wake up. Therefore, I only really count and log my fasting weight first thing when I get up. Anything else I just take…
  • I have a boudoir shoot coming up in 3 months that I want to tone up a bit for. ☺
  • I used a bmi calculator today wondering how much I have reduced my bmi since starting my weight loss journey and realized that I am no longer obese! I actually fall in the overweight category! I haven't been in that category in just over a decade, so it was a very exciting realization. Not to mention an excellent motivator…
  • Thank you everyone for all of your input! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that has experienced this! Good news, I did go shopping today and got a few things in my new size which definitely helped a bit! I did not realize just how big my clothes were on me. It doesn't help that I wear scrubs for a living, which…
  • Agreed! I didn't realize just how invisible I was before, but now all kinds of people are coming out of the woodwork to comment on my weight loss. Some, are very supportive, others not so much. For instance, some tell me I look amazing and can see the hard work I am putting in. They ask what I have done to achieve my goals…
  • Protein shake half way through my shift with some PB2 added seems to give me the boost I need to make it all the way through my shift. Other than that I sip on a non carbonated, 10 calorie per serving energy drink that I mix with water during my shift if it's a rough night staying awake. But, that's a last resort for me.
  • Offer to be the designated driver when you go out. Makes it a lot easier to not drink when you are responsible for other people's lives.
  • My go to is anything with eggs. They are versatile, easy to make and easy on my budget.
  • I used to struggle with my weight loss and alcohol intake, until I started taking medication for migraines and now can't drink with my meds. If I do, I get terrible headaches. But, since I am not drinking anymore I have lost 30 lbs almost effortlessly, am not bloated from drinking and am actually finding entertainment in…
  • I realize thia is an old topic, but I found it on a search so thought I'd offer my input. I have a phrase on my rib cage that is nearly illegible after a significant weight loss. Once I am closer to goal I plan to have a consult to see what my options are as far as a cover up. Hopefully I can get it looking amazing again…
  • People are finally noticing my weight loss! Just the motivation I need to stay on track on difficult days.
  • Today, I got up on my kneeboard! I haven't been able to do so for over 10 years. I honestly thought my kneeboarding days were done. But, today I got up! The last time I even attempted was probably 5 years ago and I just did not have enough core strength to pull myself up onto the board. Today, after a few tries, I got up!…
  • I personally have become so lactose intolerant that I have cut most dairy out or switched to lactose free dairy products. But, if I wasn't lactose intolerant I definitely wouldn't cut it out. I miss eating dairy so much sometimes! Especially when we have potlucks at work or all pitch in for pizza. ☹
  • That my butt would lose some shape. ☹ I'm down 60 some lbs, with 40 lbs to go and noticed today that my butt isn't as shapely as it used to be. Currently searching Pinterest for butt building workouts. Haha
  • Small town in Michigan here.
  • Great job! I've recently started a similar program with the intent that I'd like to someday run a half marathon. I've slacked a bit this week but your post has inspired me to get back on track tomorrow morning (treadmill is in the bedroom and hubby is sleeping). Thanks for sharing!
  • I started out with a weight loss goal of 110-135 pounds. I have lost about 65 pounds at this point. I maintained that loss for about two years and have come back recently to work on losing the remaining 50-75 pounds. Am having a but more trouble losing this time than I did the first time, so would appreciate any support…
  • I added you.
  • Welcome! I love MFP I used it in the past to lose approximately 65 pounds and have returned to lose the remaining 50-65 pounds to reach my goal weight. I am 32 and a mom of three, ages 9, 4 and 2. I work fill time as well. I am always looking to add more friends so feel free to add me. :-)
  • I'll add you as a friend. I log on daily and try to motivate others frequently, would love to offer you support as well!
