Despite being away for a week on holidays this month, I remain on target to hit and perhaps slightly surpass my goal of 166 to 162 for September. Very happy that my better food choices and slightly increased activity levels are paying off since August. All very sustainable too- a couple of days per week I aim for some…

Well done all!

Things are slowing down a bit for me and I'm feeling disheartened more often. Its feeling more like a hard slog now than it did starting in August! I'm going away for a few days but when I get back, I'm going to do my best to introduce another HIIT gym session with some strength training in during the week. Looks like…

Love it! Congrats!

Down a pound since last week, yay. New goal is to get from 166 to 162- I'm aiming conservative as I've a week away on holiday this month!
-
I made it to 167.5, going to try for a loss of 5 lbs again this month. There is a 5 night holiday to Portugal in a couple weeks but I don't foresee major damage!

I started off with the intermittent fasting but found it wasn't working for me. I had no problem going long periods with nothing and then going very low calorie but I wasn't seeing any loss despite the huge deficits. Once I stuck to the 1200 daily, with a 200 cal breakfast protein shake, the weight started to shift and I…

Amazing, congratulations!

Started around 175, finished August on 167. I really feel like I'm on my way, its finally clicked for me what works. Thank you everyone for getting involved and being so inspirational!

Fantastic! A story with pics and a happy ending! Thanks for sharing!

Lofty, unachievable goals that you fail to reach only serve to make you feel bad. I'm learning to aim small and to be pleased when I exceed my own expectations eg. I aim to walk 40 minutes a day and then feel good when I end up walking an hour or more by jumping off buses early. I don't feel bad I had pasta for dinner…

@KrisiAnnH Fab Well done!

I'd take that over the numbers on the scale! Well done!

Have to say, anything too sweet makes me feel gross now. Salt and savoury flavours were/are my biggest weakness but sometimes I would have had a sweet tooth- seems to be gone now! I make a tonic of Apple Cider Vinegar in water and drink a glass every night- I'm convinced that its helped me to cut out sugar.

Thanks folks, I was feeling that maybe every day was me being a bit obsessive, but you're right, it does help me stay focussed. So why stop?! I'll try to accept the ups and downs for what they are rather than reading too much into them. Soy sauce and hot sauce, yes, they've caught me out a couple of time now and will no…

I found myself absolutely starved after a couple of hours of roller derby training last night. Despite a decent protein shake this morning, I was craving meat and ended up overdoing it on fried chicken tenders at lunchtime today. On the plus side, even if these were lightly breaded, I didn't have any fries or other side.…

@shangates92, I took it on as new and fun activity and to meet other women but jeez, its some workout as well! I'm feeling it today! Its a 2 hour session and I figure I must be moving for at least 90 minutes of that- MFP says that's a burn of something like 800 calories.
-
Hill running but have also just discovered roller derby- loving it!

From Toronto, living in Dublin, Ireland- feel free to add me!

I have a Fibit Aria scales, it's quite good. Even better now as it tells me I'm down a couple of pounds along with the lard! I find its accurate enough for my purposes and compares favourably with the measurements I have taken by my gym.

Glad you're okay and you are right, losing weight might no longer be a priority. On the other hand, you're going to be dealing with a lot of "what ifs", doubts and anxiety along with feelings that things aren't in your control. One thing that is in your control is your weight, what you choose to eat and what activities you…

Well, though I may turn out to be down a pound this week, it could possibly have been a little better. I think I fell off the wagon, but it happened slowly and without me really realising it because I generally stayed under my calorie allotment. Thinking back, I made a few bad choices this week including a croissant for…

This happening to me the last couple of weeks as well and I'm finding it very frustrating. Just drop already!
-
That's great news, well done!

Meh, I'm fed up. At the four week wall but will climb over it tomorrow with a good sweat at the gym. Will check in with the weight after that, when I'll be feeling good regardless of what the numbers are. On the plus side, my scales are telling me I've been losing body fat this week.

I have a night out with friends tomorrow night which is mostly a drinking affair, rather than eating, but I'm not really up for it. Not in the mood plus I'm feeling guilty ahead of time by the calories I'll be consuming in the form of useless booze, even if I do manage to limit it to 3 or 4 G & T's. I'm planning my…

Its been a few years since I last ran a 10k. I could just about pull a 5k out of the bag now (if I had to!) but it would all be so much easier if I were carrying a little less weight! I'm also fed up with my ports bra feeling so tight!
-
I'm going to give the 5:2 a rest for this week and will stick to 1200 for every day. If I'm hungrier on the days when there's more activity, I'll eat a proportion of the extra calories. But only if I feel the need to! Thanks for the insights!
-
Thanks folks for your responses. Staying under my 1200 for the day is the goal, activity or not, and I guess if I feel I need a bit extra, I'll have a scoop of protein. Listen to your body always is good advice. @danielaica The 5:2 is five "eat regular" days (whatever that is!) interspersed with two "fast" days (I prefer…

Biggest obstacle for me is dealing with paradox. I want instant results for all my hard work but at the same time I know full well that weight loss should be slow and steady, with plenty of time to develop new and better habits and to work out the psychological kinks that will ultimately lead to a brand new lifestyle! When…
