I take so many vitamins because of medical issues its not even funny. But thank you ;)

Yes. Basically, yes. Why does it have to be so complicated?? And I did read those articles and completely agree with this Katz fellow. "There’s obviously a lot of money to be made from confusion." << Yes.

I agree with a lot of this. People want an answer, even if it doesn't ENTIRELY make sense. I find it hard to believe that legumes are responsible for any of my problems. I have absolutely no difficulty in believing that refined sugar and SOME grains may be to blame. But cutting out thinks like corn, whole grains, and…

Thank you so much for such a thorough response. I appreciate it. It absolutely could not hurt to try the whole 30. And now I want spanakopita.
-
I appreciate your response! I'm glad it's working for you!!
-
I would say you're pretty qualified then!

Thanks for your response. My ailments are "actual" ailments. My bloating is caused by specific foods but also because I have some "female" issues. My autoimmune disorders include alopecia, lymph node issues, and raynauds, though those are usually not caused by any diet or deficiency. It's just my body reacting against…

I think I really am going to try it. You sound a lot like me with all the medical issues. I would love to feel better. Thank you for your response!!

I don't like the way I feel. I am tired and bloated all the time. I have autoimmune disorders. I have asthma and stomach issues. I am addicted to sugar. I know that if I eat wheat my stomach will hurt. But only certain types of wheat and I am not celiac (I was tested). I know dairy affects me to a point. I would love to be…

Seems like you're like me. I have a tremendous sugar addiction and generally don't feel good a lot of the time. If it could really make my crVings go away and hit the "reset" button, I think it would be worth it. But I don't know if I could do it because i really do have a bad addiction. I am thinking about buying the book…

You're right about eating out. Eating out a restaurant would be hard, although I believe they offer some kind of guidelines for ordering. Still, you couldn't just order anything off the menu, as-is. I don't think it's intended to be a "lifestyle." Following those rules for LIFE would be very hard. Are you a doctor? It's…

Thank you for an informative response! I would probably continue weighing myself as well. Do you notice that your cravings for sweets or carbs have diminished?

A friend of mine sells Healthy Chocolate (Xocai). She swears by it. But it's pretty expensive.

I do fish oil, vitamin c, vitamin D, and biotin because I have alopecia. I take zinc on occasion as well. B vitamins are good. Be careful with iron. I was supplementing with iron because I was anemic, then I had TOO much iron. I think it's also easy to take too much potassium. The supps I take were recommended by a doctor…

Interesting. This is how I felt about being vegan. I absolutely believe that eating vegan is the best thing for your body because of the science that backs it. People thought I was doing it to lose weight though. (I am no longer vegan but would probably feel better if I was.) anyway thank you for the insight. I was curious…

I am actually Italian as well. Italian, Greek, and Middle Eastern. Waaaayy too many good foods to give up forever!
-
That would sense if it did start out that way. And yeah an allergy test would be faster.
-
Seriously. I would be starting over constantly. I mean maybe not. I'm sure I could do it. But i feel like I'd be more likely to binge after.

That's how I feel about it. It seems too restrictive. I didn't read the whole website but there is something about it being "healing." And if you cheat or mess up you must begin the"healing" process again.

I do agree. Why make myself suffer for a month when it's not a sustainable "diet"? Also I'm middle eastern. I cannot NOT have lentils or chickpeas.
-
That is basically where I'm at with it!
-
Very helpful! Thank you!

I do all that.. I don't eat fast or fried food. Just wondering about benefits of IF.
-
I am working on it. I'm trying to take care of my body and give it what it needs.

I will admit that I have an unhealthy self-image. I always have. I have never felt comfortable in my body, unfortunately even when I was 20 lbs lighter. I have looked in the mirror and started crying because I feel disgusting. Though I still struggle at times with maybe a mild ED, it is nowhere near when I was in my teens…

I will look into IF. Actually it makes me feel better that it took you nearly a year to lose ten pounds. I've been consistently working at this (this time around) for about 4 months. And I am doing things right this time and trying not to starve myself like I've done in the past. I know I have a lot to learn but I am…

I appreciate everyone's insight. There are definitely some things I see that I need to adjust or work on.
-
I appreciate it. Did you do anything specific to "repair" your metabolism?
-
You're right about seeing a doctor. I do need to do that, even if it's just to see if I've messed up my thyroid. But I like mfp because it helps me track everything (obviously). It has brought awareness to the fact that I do need more protein most days. I'm willing to bump my calories back up to 1200 at least until I see…

I don't feel like I am as bad as I was. Other than the occasional binge. But it's frustrating because in the past I have not been able to lose weight without consuming less than 900 cals per day. I know that's bad and I am trying my best to do everything right this time. But it is so frustrating. I think I really screwed…
