  • I might eat quiche with crust and champagne at my sister's brunch after Mass. And then I'll have a slice of whatever dessert my boyfriend's mother makes after dinner. Just to be polite, of course. ;-)
  • My parents visited two weeks ago, and my mother didn't think my winter coat was warm enough. (Moms don't change, even when their kids get old!) This week, she sent me a box with a stylish new coat from Laundry that she said she got on sale. I saw the tag read "small" and sighed to myself that it would never zip up. But it…

  • I stop at a supermarket with a hot bar most mornings on my way to work and load up on bacon. It's $7.99/lb, but bacon weighs almost nothing. The scale at the grocer is not consistent at all, but this morning I paid 32 cents for five delicious pieces! Sometimes it's a little over a buck. (Can't figure out how that works,…
  • I'm 5'7". Started in July at 182 lbs and am now at 146. Looking to lose another 9. Best wishes to you!
  • I just got a Beurer scale at Target for $30. It doesn't do anything fancy (not automatic synching), but it looks sleek! It weighs in up to .2lb instruments, and you can have it display in pounds, kgs, or stone.
  • This is my first dry January and it is going very well--no slips! I've enjoyed seeing my calories left after dinner and realizing that without the vodka soda or red wine, I've still got room for some nuts or cheese in there. Haven't seen a rapid weight loss, but didn't expect to as I'm in that tough "last ten pounds"…
  • I've gone largely to keto, so I've given up most bread, starch, sugar, etc. But I do enjoy a treat now and again. Last night, I split a molten lava cake with vanilla ice-cream after dinner at a restaurant. However, I don't keep such things in the house, enjoy them them when I've a lower-than-usual calorie day, and it's…
  • I'm late to this challenge but I am in! Would love to look cute in a nice Easter dress and bonnet! SW: 182 CW: 150 GW: 135 I'm going to aim to drop 10 pounds (so reach 140) by Easter. That's a little under a pound a week, which seems right for me. Let's do this!
  • Good luck! Enjoy club soda instead!
  • I do this. I use MFP to track what I eat and watch my macros. I use WW for the community support and the weigh-ins. I don't tell anyone at WW I do this, as I think it would sound rude and divert most people from what they want to talk about (points). But it works for me.
  • I'm in! I'd like to lose 13 more lbs to hit my goal weight (let's round it up to 15 lbs). But I'd love love love to lose 5 lbs by February 1. We can give these five pounds to the curb!
  • Rather than adding calories, you can enter the bun as a negative number in your food diary. For example, if you had a Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich and threw out the bun, you could log 1 Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and then -1 (negative one) bun. MYF will subtract it from your diary accordingly. (I don't know if this…
  • I go to Weight Watchers meetings and really like it. I don't do the points plan (I do a keto diet instead) and I use MFP to track my food instead of the WW app. But I like the structure of the weekly weigh-in, and wanting to get a "congrats" from the lady who weighs you and updates your weight in the book. The meetings are…
  • Best of luck to you, GC! I joined this community in mid-July. Since then, I've lost 30 pounds and am motivated to keep losing! I'm aiming to shed another 15.
  • Best of luck on your weight loss journey, Connikins! Feel free to add me. I started in July and my diary is open. I do the keto diet.
  • I set my default diary view to show fiber as one of the inputs. That makes it easier to see the net carbs in each item. You're right that it is per item, not total per day. I find it's not too difficult for me to just keep track in my head when I can look at the fiber next to the carbs for each item. I've never heard of…
  • I found when I moved from NYC to ATX, I walked much less. I miss NY! Good luck. If you are back to watching what you eat and how you exercise, you should be back down soon enough.
  • You look fantastic! And you have a beautiful smile in both pics!
  • Good for you. You have such a great goal and look terrific!
  • I said no to focusing on food I shouldn't eat, and yes to enjoying those things on my approved list.
