  • @shoofly435. Thank you so much for this information and undestanding and AGREEING that these meds CAN cause weight gain. There are many Web sites that state issues with weight gain on these types of medications. Everybody is different and everybody reacts differently to medications. I just have to keep fighting this to the…
  • Everybody is different. Medications affect people differently. I am not the only one that has gained weight on this medication. I am very diligent about watching what I eat and working out 4-5 times per week.
  • I take that position because this is the second time I've been on this medication in the last 15 years and both times I gained between 10 and 15 pounds. Did not increase my calorie intake and have always exercised. I know a couple of other people who have been on this medication and the same thing happened to them. But, it…
  • I do have a scale. I do log everything. Curious, do you take anything for depression or anxiety? I took something several years ago and had the same issue with my weight. • Thank you everybody for your comments and support. I should also mention that I am on medication for anxiety. I swear it seemed like I gained 15 pounds overnight. So I went from being 30 pounds overweight to 45 pounds overweight. I do work out approximately 3 times a week and am trying to increase that to 5 days a week.…
  • I have used phentermine in the past with good results, however, I didn't keep the weight off; thus, the reason I have joined MFP. I'm just trying to learn to eat healthier and stay off diet pills. They really aren't good for you.
  • I want to lose 30-40 lbs. I'm a 61-year-old woman. I started an anti-anxiety med about 5 months ago and it seemed like I woke up one morning with 15 extra pounds on my body!!!! My metabolism seems to be nonexistent. I need motivation. I'm starting AGAIN today, which is Friday, but I can't put it off any longer.
