  • I love black coffee and prefer it depending on the brand! I recommend getting a bean grinder and getting yourself some good quality coffee. Then youll be able to appreciate the ritual of making a really good cup of coffee and you'll find that the better quality stuff is tastier and doesn't require sugar!
  • Work out in the evenings if you don't want to get up early. That's what I do!
  • I bombed this weekend too. I walked a lot but ate more than what I know is proper portioning and I'm up 2 lbs because of it. But it's a new week! Soldier on!
  • I'm right there with you. I smoke almost every night and it is insanely hard to not go crazy with the snacks. I usually try to watch serving sizes and be mindful while I'm chewing!
  • I'd say things with little nutritional value that are high in calories. But I think the term "cheat" is subjective.
  • It connects to MFP
  • Hey same stats! I'm 5'2" and started out at 133. I've lost 4 lbs in the past month, my goal weight is 115. Friend me and you can take a look at my diary if you want. I go over most days lately though, but that's mainly because of a few drinks in the evening or snacking a bit after dinner. Echoing what everyone else is…
  • Absolutely. You did a good thing logging it. I find that when I cheat and I log it honestly it takes some of the guilt away, oddly.
  • I like my jawbone up move because it's a little clip on that doesn't require charging (it uses a flat circular battery that needs replacing every few months) and I don't have to display to the world via a bracelet that I'm tracking my steps. I wear it on my bra on the little part in the middle between the cups ;) It seems…
  • I also need a drink or two every evening to wind down. I usually go over on my cals by 100-200 because of that, but I'm ok with it because if I don't have it I feel deprived and cranky, and I've been logging for 5 weeks and have lost 4.2 lbs, so I guess it's ok!
  • Personally I love the way it feels when I'm halfway through my jog, I have the right music going to keep me adrenaline filled, I'm covered in sweat and I'm staring straight ahead, focused and my breathing is heavier than usual but not labored. I love the intensity of all of that together.
  • I've been on Wellbutrin two times in my life (for depression) and both times I lost 5-10 lbs in the first few weeks. It definitely kills your appetite.
  • My jawbone Up Move has gotten me seriously motivated to walk a ton more than I used to. I do everything I can to hit 10k steps. I highly recommend getting one, they really are fun if you're into challenging yourself a little bit.
  • ^ lol, it bleeped @$$
  • Same here. I exercise 5 days a week so I can eat. If I don't exercise, not only do I feel listless but i tend to feel like I have no flexibility in my calorie intake that day. The hours will pass anyway, you can sit on your *kitten* and dwell on how you don't want to work out, or you can stop the mental game and go work…
  • You will always have to stir peanut butter made of only ground peanuts, and keep it in the fridge. Some brands add another ingredient (can't think of it now but you can google it) that will make it non-stir and shelf stable. After years of trying to stir a cold brick of peanut butter and slopping oil all over the place I…
  • Try planning all of your dinners. That way when you get home from work you know exactly what you're going to cook and there will hopefully be less temptation to eat. Also, I go to the gym right after work and it honestly keeps me from snacking because I get home, shower and basically start cooking right then. No…
  • Also, if you're on Instagram or Facebook, look up yoga_girl AKA Rachel Brathen. She posts really encouraging things throughout the day about acceptance of ourselves and the beauty of life. Her posts really help me see through the fog sometimes.
  • Being out in nature always helps me feel better when I'm depressed. Don't get me wrong, it sometimes takes hours to put in the effort to actually put on clothes and go or the front door, but once I do it's almost magic. Not only are you moving your body and burning off the crap you ate, but you're outside and there are…
  • Couch to 5k is the only reason I can jog now. I can't recommend it enough. I've done the program once all the way through and still use it as a general guide a few times a week when I jog. Keep at it, don't try to do more than the app tells you (you'll burn out) and keep the jogs at a slow and steady pace. I started at 4.6…

  • I have an Up Move, just got it last week. I love it so far. It syncs with MyFitnessPal but be aware that if you're using your phone's pedometer now it will not give you as many cals to eat back from your daily steps. I haven't found that to be a real problem though.
  • 3 weeks. I weigh 4.2 lbs less now and my clothes are looser and my face is slimmer, and my collar bones are more visible. Hooray!
  • I usually hit 5000-6000 from work at my desk job, where I either walk some on lunch break or run an errand. I also go to the 1st floor (I work on the 4th) for about half my potty breaks (and use the stairs both ways). I go to the gym after work and that gets me to about 9000 or so, then getting the rest is relatively easy…
  • My gym is cheap and a mile from my house. Also it's brand new so everything works :)
  • After a few days of breaking the jawbone in so to speak I think it's giving me a fair amount of cals back. It's not as many as I was getting before but it's not super difficult for me to stay within every day.
  • I do have negative adjustments enabled but I don't really understand what that means either haha. The FAQ article about it just confuses me and I consider myself to be reasonably smart
  • I un synced the iPhone and the jawbone is the only source. Update: I've gone over 10k steps and now it's giving me 157 cals back. Still seems like too few...
  • Yes, they're linked. MFP shows the number of steps I've walked but gives me 0 calories back.
  • For a warmup I do 3.5 mph on a level "3" incline, enter my weight and trust that the machine has calculated my calories accurately... Is it wrong to trust the treadmill's calorie count?
