  • Hi, I know the feeling, I work 14 hour night shifts 5 days a week and have daily chores like kids shopping etc to do as well as getting a couple of hours sleep where poss. I go to the gym first thing after I drop the kids off so I don't miss it but I only go 3 days a week with some cardio and some weights each time I'm…
  • Why not work out how many calories you normally consume in food and how much is alcohol . This gives you a clear starting point to decide what to cut out , reduce or stay the same! So one week you may decide no alcohol but normal pizza and the next week you may fancy a beer which means cutting down on pizza .
  • I guess the main thing is how does what your doing now or planning to do compare to what you were doing before? If you post that info you will get a better response other wise you will just get told if your calorie intake is now lower you will lose weight, if it's higher you will gain, while this is true if you want a more…
  • My new favourite is a small tin of manderin segments with juice drained off and a tub of low cal jelly. This is a big bowlful of very sweet that comes in at 50-60 calories ( depending on jelly flavour ) . My old favourite is a mug of low cal hot chocalate ( tub says 40 per cup but I log 50 as I don't weigh the powder and…
  • So you were maintaining well on 1600 and don't want to gain or lose but you have cut your calories to 1200 and increased exersize? If you cannot see that the maths on this won't work then it's likely you are heading towards an eating disorder. Please seek help and stop this cycle before it gets worse . There are a lot of…
  • I've lost just over 50 kg so far just over 12 more to go! It's taken 6 years though but I'm getting there. The real factors that will affect if you can lose 32kg that you need to consider is what is your starting weight and goal weight. As well as your height. And if your male or female. If you post those details I'm sure…
  • Hi, lots of comments on here that are helpful and lots that are just critical. My view is the best thing you can do is firstly stop thinking of it as exersize with a view to get fit, instead make an aim to try as many different activities that challenge your body as possible and do as many as poss 2-3 times each, make a…
  • Sometimes my fasting period is 18 hours and sometimes it's 15 hours and other times it's 20 hours all depends on what time I start work and if I take longer doing my morning jobs and get home a bit later. I basically eat dinner in the evening sometimes finishing at 1630 sometimes 1800 then go to work, come home, skip…
  • If you used to eat like that 7 days a week but now eat less 6 days and the same one day you are doing better and could still lose weight ( although the salt/ water weight will push the scales up) problem is you are trying hard for 6 days and then almost sabotaging yourself on the 7th. In an ideal world personally I would…
  • I found my fat pouches stayed the same size, then got softer and more sqishy then next thing I knew my clothes were too big! Everyone loses differently and if you are relying on just diet the changes will be different to someone who chooses to do more cardio which will also be different to someone who lifts weights. There…
  • You do have a thin face so maybe they haven't seen you with your shirt off! You look great btw so keep doing what makes you happy x
  • I am new to the gym, I hate new situations and I hate crowds and get stressed if a stranger want to start talking to me more than a quick hi. These are my problems no one else's. It took me several attempts to get through the door of the first gym I went too as walking in and finding a staff member was stressful . To get…
  • I've lost 8 stone just 2 more to go! It very simple but also can be very hard. Don't over complicate things, no need to restrict times or certain food groups if you don't want to just eat a bit less than before. Don't go too hard and fast to start with you wont keep it up, and every day you eat at a deficit will help with…
  • If your original reason for visiting the doctor was a one off I'd forget about it, no need to wind yourself up if you only visit the doctor every few years and he could well of moved on by then. If it is an ongoing condition and you go to the doctors regularly depending on your personality and exact situation either ensure…
  • I personally think bmi works for most people, my theory is if you are smack in the middle of the healthy weight catogory you still have almost a stone either way to play with. So someone who was perfect weight then became a bodybuilder would have to gain a stone of muscle before edging out of the healthy range. And your…
  • 2t9nty you are my hero thinking of this! ( quote) You can always pretend you thought it was a compliment, and respond with "Thank you so much for noticing! You have put on some weight too!" Love this maybe it should be the standard response to those rude enough to think they get to comment on your life. Ignore them and do…
  • I have instant hot chocolate that mixes in water not milk. Tons of healthier ones around with different tastes etc, lots with 30 - 40 calories per cup so could be fitted in a lot easier.
  • It is not failure it's a learning curve! You are logging (+ 1 point) presumably weighing food or at least more aware of calories and portion size (+ 1 point) and aware that you need to do something to help you get healthier ( + another point) ,. So you are now 3 points ahead of were you were last week, that's good…
  • You look great and don't forget a big butt is a fashion thing! As are big boobs or on the other end of the range things like thigh gap and bikini bridge. It's fine to aim for a bigger bum if that's what you want but don't be bullied into it and please don't think it will make you more beautiful. Also in my opinion a friend…
  • It may be IF helped get rid of most of the weight but now you are closer to your goal the margin for error is much smaller so a different approach is needed. I do IF but within that eating window I also count calories, I have to as even with two stone left to lose, eating whatever I want results in Weight gain. Do you also…
  • Sell this as a new diet and make a fortune!
  • If you get worn out after just 10 to 15 mins walking I'm going to guess your either fairly overweight or very unfit. ( YOU don't say in your post) so it is important you take it slowly to avoid injuries . Build up slowly by setting small goals. Maybe that you will try to make all your walks nearer to 15 mins rather than 10…
  • Sorry should add I know nothing thats just my personal thoughts!
  • Could you but a cheap set( or 2 !) of 1 pound Dumbbells just for them.? Can't see much harm in them copying even with poor form at that low a weight unless they drop them on their head! Or if you want to go really light look for dog Dumbbells some of those are super light 1/2 lb or so.
  • Healthy weight is important for a healthy life but if a weight loss goal is affecting your life excevivly then it's time to reevaluate . You should enjoy your life first and foremost.
  • Speak to the manager, you are not the only one who will have this problem so if enough people say get lower weights or I'll leave I'm sure they will do something about it!
  • If you are in mantanance you will maintain your weight [ hence the name! ] any gains will be temporary . If you switch to mantanance before your holiday it will help you settle your mind before you go. When you come back you can set your loss slower if you want . X enjoy your holiday x
  • I should of been 7 ft 7 ! As I'm a 5 ft 2 female I need to grow a bit. Anyone got 26 inch heels I can borrow ?!
  • I seem to have settled into a routine of gaining for 3 weeks then the forth week it goes as well as an extra 1/2 a pound. Could be any number of things. It's normal so just keep working away at it. If you hit 4- 6 weeks and still no loss then you may need to switch it up a bit .x
