This question and the other thread have got me thinking about people who are looking for that miracle short cut to weight loss. I have wondered if there is a correlation between that and get rich quick schemes. Are people who are likely to buy into the hype of quick fixes to weight loss also likely to get sucked into the…

I have cut out diet soda completely because even though it has no calories it seemed to increase my cravings for sweets. I do miss Fresca though.

I just love this thread. It had been so great reading through all of the comments. Definitely motivating. For me it is getting dressed every morning. I am having a ball shopping in my closet. Everyday it seems I find something that I haven't worn in years. The shoe thing is a bummer though. I spend a lot of money on shoes…

I know the feeling. It was a great one. Congratulations!

I started my weight loss journey in February 2015. In April 2015 my husband and I went to Paris to celebrate our anniversary. At the time I had lost about 20 pounds. I bought a fabulous spendy leather belt that just barely fit on the first hole. Now, 6 months later, it is too loose in the fifth and final hole. Looks like I…

What worked for me (54 lbs in 8 months) was staying away from as much prepackaged overly processed foods as possible. I feel fuller on whole foods and therefore can stay at my calorie goal more easily.

Two fried eggs on whole wheat toast with spinach and cheddar.

Easier generally for me. More time for excercise and lots more walking with the dog.

Vanishing edge panties from Soma are great. I have found that if they are the right size there are no lines at all.

Take a look at this recently published review of the best trackers out there. The iFit is not listed. If you are budget conscious then there a few that got some good reviews for less than $30. wareable.com/fitness-trackers/the-best-fitness-tracker

Love love love my Apple Watch. I use the activity and workout apps daily. Just changed my goals on the activity rings. It took me forever to figure out how to do that. I had a Fitbit flex for a year and really liked it a lot. I used both for the first month I had my watch until I felt confident my steps were accurate.

Someone recently told me that you should eat like a king for breakfast, eat like a prince for lunch and eat like a pauper for dinner. I have no idea if that is legit. However, a breakfast rich in protein and fiber makes me feel full until lunch.

I plan breakfast, lunch and snacks ahead of time. I pre-log them when eating breakfast.

I love clothes more now than ever before. So any excuse to shop!

I like weighing every day as well. Same time and same lack of clothing. It really helps to see those minute trends so I can make appropriate adjustments. The impact of sodium is the biggest that I can see on a daily basis. I travel a lot and take my digital scale akin where ever I go. It is comforting for me and not…

BBC might just reference to this BBC Code thing that appears at the bottom of the thread in the mobile app when you post a reply. It is a hyperlink and I have never clicked it since I don't know what it is.

Yoga is an amazing stress reliever

Be strong. This is where you can get your support and enouragement

I weigh everyday as a well. I have been on a pre-diabetes program through Omada health and a digital cellular scale is included. It automatically transmits my weight via cell. It has been great to see the daily fluctuations and how my food choices make an impact. I love it. I have traveled everywhere with it. In fact, I…

I would agree with all of the posters who said that you don't "need" a gym to get fit. But I love the fitness classes: yoga, spin, cross fit etc. and they come free with my membership. An all you can eat buffet so to speak. It took me a while to justify it but I thought of it as a reward after losing 50 lbs in 7 months. I…

NYDJ (Not Your Daughter's Jeans) is a great brand to try. They come in all of the styles except "mom jeans"

Excellent explanation! I no longer use my Fitbit since I won my Apple Watch but I suspect it works the same.

Even though I know it is not accurate I like closing out my diary and seeing the message. It gives me that extra little motivation to say "no more food today". I won't deprive myself if I am truly hungry but I think first when I have closed out my diary

If I start to feel hungry in the late evening I drink water, lots of water. If that doesn't work then a few Wasa Light Rye Crispbreads. They are low calorie high fiber and filling. And if that still doesn't work I try to take my mind off the hunger by reading these conversations in MFP

Perhaps it is because there are so many and they estimate burns differently. The point I was trying to make is that I do trust my Apple Watch more than just the MFP excercise catalogue because it does capture my heart rate. However, I don't yet trust it enough to eat back most of my calories. And, for what it's worth, I…

I have an Apple Watch and I use the Activity app to track my excercise calories instead of MFP. And because it has a built in heart rate monitor I feel it is more accurate. For example, MFP says that 45 minutes of spin class burns about 385 calories for me but my Apple Watch had it closer to 300. But since there is such a…

I have an office job so mostly sitting all day. Here is what I do to get to my steps: - I commute by public transportation to a city. I get off one stop earlier and get on one stop later - I use the bathroom in the office that is the furthest from my desk - At the commuter parking lot I park as far away as possible -…

Congratulations! I know how great that feels. When I jumped on the scale on my 51st birthday I had lost a total of 51 pounds. It was the best birthday ever. Like you I have another 25 or so to go.
