I think your body is one big machine and the fat we carry is fuel for it. It aint bothered about our ideas of where we want the fat to be used from! It certainly doesn't particularly pull fuel from the area closest to the muscles we are using. I have lost most inches from my rib cage. I don't do much to exercise that, but…

My wife likes larger ladies, I know she was first attracted to me when I was very big. But over time that gets less important. None of us can stay trapped in the amber of how we looked when we first met. And "attraction" morphs to more solid foundations in successful long-term relationships. We've been together for 25…

I have, quite a few now -- but it took a while to even start. People don't know if you are going to stick around, so they talk to their fellow "regulars" - it doesn't mean they are "friends" ! Most chat starts when waiting to go in, or before a class starts, so go early and smile at anyone who makes eye contact. They might…

Thanks to everyone who posts in here - the photos are inspiring. Seems MFP has some very attractive members!

So proud of this - after training hard on hills and doing some really steep bursts I tackled a climb in Wales that my mate and I usually just walk up. My mates been "training" with me and we thought we'd give it a go this time. Not only did we do it - I had the Garmmin on which gave the eye-watering fact that this is a…

Did you want to say something about this?

She was last seen in here in 2014 so don't worry if she doesn't resond!

MFP certainly over-estimates exercise calories. I use a different gadget to guess-timate my cycling calories and never "eat back" all the calories from exercise anyway. That bit of the MFP equation is always pretty vague. Over time you will learn what seems to be the "right" count for thing you do every week that ends up…

Hi - you did well to lost 50lb over two years. Bravo! If you are not losing now you MUST be eating more than you think you are. Espcially as your smaller body needs less food than you bigger body did for its base-level of keeping going. It is quite easy to overeat on things like dried fruit, so you need to weigh the…

Hi - I am not very good at maths but basically when you are not very over-weight you have to be pretty careful about your intake to be sure of losing it in a short time. It might be better to stop focussing on "how much a week" and try to think "these changes are for life" and over all you just need to reduce your total…

I agree - I also think that seeing how fat I still am after losing two stones stops me getting too complacent an back-peddling too soon.

I bought it just to avoid adverts, cos I have very short tolerance for adverts. I didn't want anything to stop me getting back on this and sticking with it. In that sense you could say it is working, have logged in everyday since then! I am not sure that I am getting any "features" benefits cos I cant remember what it was…

You have unearthed some very cute dimples and cheeks now! Bravo <3

Anyone else do Les Mills Body Combat classes? The new release includes huge numbers of burpees. The first time our instructor took us through it she was the only one still moving by the end of the track. TBH I didn't do any "I don't do burpees" was my initial response and I went straight to the lower option of squatting. I…

I did it! Snow 1/2 way up for a bit of the route, strong head winds and icy blizzard at the very top so we were cold and drenched despite waterproof gear. However, we got dry in the village pub so we could complete the circuit. @niblue It's 15-20% through one section near the top - which is stupidly steep enough! Also the…

By the way, what does LBM stand for?

I've been faffing about with MFP for three months and still haven't quite decided how to set it up - I think I have set my macros as % ages - which then increases the protein needs when I add in exercise, but I just ignore it! :p I have lost 23lbs and according to the boditrax at my gym (which gives you a rough idea of the…

This is basically the pattern I follow - tho I prefer jumbo prawns for lunch over tuna .. and I will eat some beans for dinner if I've done shed-loads of exercise in the day, but I generally am not eating rice/pasta/potatoe in the evening.

Yay - the girl done good! Bravo That must be a great feeling, just suddenly getting a reminder through FB of how you used to look.
-
Really? What little ways would they be? ! You look amazing and you must have worked really hard to get that muscle definition. Bravo.

Hi, welcome back! You don't have to join lots in the community, you just have to use the tracker to watch your calorie intake and get some idea of what calories you are burning with exercise. I use the forums cos I like forums, and have used different ones over the years on a range of topics, but they are not for everyone.…

There is not much point in trying to guess what other ppl think, No-one else's opinion really matters, and for sure you will find a whole range of opinions about weight at all sizes. We are obsessed with it in our culture and that generates lots of varying opinions. Choose your friends from people who can empathise and…

If they are really good quality it might be worth finding someone who can do alterations - there are some people around who can work minor miracles for reasonable costs.

Pretty pleased with this - out on the bikes and it was rainy/grey mizzley weather and we were discussing our route and it was ME who pressed for staying out and going further when my ususally super-fit super-enthusiastic missis proposed the shortest return route. I also overtook her twice up hills today, which never…

I'm 58 Battled with my weight ALL My life. Been as heavy as 18 stone and never been much less than 12. But I am muscular! Never quite nailed maintenance- that is the main thing I want to do different this time. I had advanced bowel cancer 10 years ago. That led to 5/6 years of many different treatments but I tried to use…

Good idea. I didn't lose anything this week but the Boditrax machine reckons I lost fat and gained muscle so measuring might show a difference for me too.
-
Good for you. Btw the link to the supplement doesn't work. Is that because we don't really need anything more than MFP? I lose weight without spending any money on "supplements". I never saw anyone else in here say they got help from a supplement either. My guess is you'd have got the same outcome without them!
-
Oh no, be kinder to yourself. OK, you have a way to go but 60lbs is a great success. You have started - which is a success in itself- you have learned how to use MFP and you are going to keep on keeping on. Well done

Is that literally the same dress? Do you alter clothes yourself? Your effort has revealed a stunning pair of legs! Well done. Edit to add: I see you answered this already!
