  • Would you be offended if I said i didn't know what that was? I'm doing ok after second surgery on Friday. I can't wait until I can take the bandages off later and wash my hair!
  • Thanks for all your support. it's exactly what i need right now. I got in a good workout today. I don't know how long it will be until I can go back to the Y. Probably another week after Friday's surgery. The scale was boring today, but it looks like I've lost inches. I will try on some size 4 pants to see if they fit!
  • You are all wonderful!
  • Thanks for all the support. I went to my doctor today and the news isn't great, but it could be a lot worse. The margins weren't large enough for radiation, so I need to have another surgery on Friday. It will be easier than last week since my doctor will use the same incision. Then I will have to have radiation and will…
  • I am so sorry about your mom. When I lost mine, a friend told me something I've never forgotten. " It doesn't get any easier, but you get used to it being hard." Get back into working out. It's something you obviously enjoy. It is great to fight depression. Your health issues in addition to your loss are devastating. But…
  • Went to the Y yesterday, but for some reason, I had very little energy. I did a lower body workout and 30 minutes of cardio. Today I get the results of the pathology report from the lumpectomy.
  • I have heard that. I have been doing weight training for over 18 years. My big problem is that I hate cardio. I know I have to do it but I have to force myself. I am going to the gym tomorrow to do a lower body workout. Since that doesn't take long, I will make sure I do cardio also. I am lucky because my cancer was DCIS.…
  • I am 68 and have been trying to lose for over a year. Not a lot...just 15 lbs. I had all kinds of tests to see what was wrong, but it all boiled down to carbs. That was all I was eating. Now that I am really carb careful, I have lost almost 10 lbs. I allow myself one day to eat whatever I want. I did that yesterday because…
  • That sounds great! My boyfriend and I are always looking for interesting weekend breakfasts. I think he's getting tired of eggs! He is thin...no weight or health problems ( I HATE him!!), so it's all for my benefit.
  • Not to have breast cancer
  • I buy thin sliced boneless, skinless chicken breasts and marinade them in seasonings and a low calorie marinade or salad dressing for 24 hours. I then bake them and freeze them wrapped in waxed paper for easy separation. It's great to know dinner only needs to be microwaved. I'll add some steamed green beans and a salad.…
  • For some weird reason, my will power is amazing. Pizza, ice cream..carbs of any kind...just don't phase me. I think I'm coming down with something!
  • Muscle weighs more than fat. The way it looks, you are building muscle. The scale won't necessarily show a loss, but your clothes will. Use that as your criteria. See how things fit and how many inches you're losing. You also might be over doing the exercise. My doctor told me one of the reasons I wasn't losing was because…
  • I just altered my workouts for a change. I am now trying for 5 days per week, alternating upper and lower body with abs and cardio every day. I also take CX works on Thursday and Yoga on Tuesday. I just found out (if it's true) that Sliver Sneakers provides personal trainers free of charge. I have been working out for over…
  • Ok. What everyone has posted on here is right. I am getting worked up about nothing. I have always been inpatient and I guess this is a prime example. I should be thankful I have lost 4 lbs. instead of gaining.
  • OK...so maybe I'm overreacting. I just expected something more dramatic. I am so uncomfortable with this roll around my middle and my obliques. I have dramatically lowered my caloric intake and I thought the weight would just melt off.
  • This is why I wear workout skorts!
  • I have been soooooooooooo careful for three weeks. Below my calories always, exercising, but I've only lost 4 lbs. I am so discouraged.
  • Hi! I'm 68 and don't know anyone on here....but I'd like to! I don't need to lose a lot of weight. I was up 15 lbs. which is a lot for me since I have a very small frame. My doctor said I am overdoing the carbs (and boy! is he right!!). I have been on a low carb diet for three weeks and have only lost 4 lbs. I'm very…
  • I am well over 50. Is that ok?
  • The big problem is that I'm never really hungry. Is this typical of a low carb diet?
  • I keep it simple. One scoop of high protein chocolate whey powder and a cup of dark chocolate almond milk and ice. I have it for lunch most days. It's really good and very easy.
  • I don't log in anything that is noncaloric. It just is too much work! I try to be careful to log in most everything else as accurately as possible so I can keep up with what I'm eating. If I think the carbs or calories are adding up, I will be super careful for the rest of the day.
  • Do your clothes fit? I gained around 15 lbs. I have a closet full of size 4 but I can't get into most of them. I also feel fat. I never had any rolls and I do now. My motivation is to fit into my clothes and be comfortable. Try going to your doctor and see why you're gaining. Mine told me I was pigging out on carbs. I have…
  • I am new here.....I just wanted to post on this board since everyone elsewhere is so young! I am 68. I weigh 126.5 trying to get down to 115. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing until my dr. pointed out I was eating mostly carbs. I'm now on a low carb diet and I've lost 3 lbs. in a little over a week. I also do…
