When I first started, I had zero dairy. Now I eat a little bit of cheese (maybe 3-4 oz a week), some HWC if I do low carb baking and it calls for it (so a little bit once a month), and a little butter here and there (maybe a total of 3 Tbsp a week). Since adding in cheese, I've noticed a slower weight loss but that could…

These are all perfect suggestions! Thanks so much for the help.

Yes, eat real food. Great one! She's terrible about that!

Yes, I do subtract my fiber. Net carbs for me but not everyone agrees. Net carbs has not hindered my weight loss at all.
-
@JessicaLCHF Yes, definitely try. I hate cream cheese so the similar recipes made with cauliflower and cream cheese makes my stomach turn and this is my alternative.

I eat beans every day and it hasn't had any negative affect on my weight loss at all. I'm generally at around 40-50 net carbs a day, if that helps. My hubby and I love white beans made into faux mashed potatoes with just beans, butter, and a food processor. Yummy goodness.

The Launch Pad on the main group page has great advice and resources to help you on you low-carb journey (sorry, I can't paste the link on my phone). Welcome to the group!

The reason most people don't count fiber as part of their carb intake is because it doesn't raise blood sugar like other carbs. The blood sugar spikes and drops are one thing we're trying to avoid in a LCD but since fiber doesn't affect this, a lot of low-carbers, myself included, don't count fiber and just stick with net…

Okay... totally off topic but can you please share some recipe ideas or websites that use more hemp protein?!?! I bought a bag for one recipe and now I don't know what to do with the rest of it! I really want to use it because it's so healthy but I'm completely stuck. Now, back to the real topic: Swerve (erythritol) is my…

I've tried both NO Explode and Hyper FX - both from BSN. Both are pretty similar so you can see which you like better. I'd start with a half serving first to test your tolerance and then see how you feel. I usually take a half scoop of the Hyper FX before I go for a 5 mile jog then come home and do some strength training…

Yup. Almond flour does that to me. Although, I have to consume it in mass quantities for that to happen. How did I learn that? I ate half of an 8 X 8 pan of LCHF brownies made with almond flour and felt super nauseous the rest of the night. However, when I only ate two pieces the next day (I couldn't stay away even after…

I don't think my maintenance meal plan will look much different than it does now. My plan is to keep doing what I'm doing and adding weight training in a month or so. I already run 5 or 6 days a week (less lately because of a terribly large and terribly painful blister, yuck) and will continue to do that but work on adding…

Sugar hangovers are the worst. I never worry about counting calories after a day like you've described, I just make sure to keep my carb count even lower than usual (less than half of my normal intake), drink lots of water and exercise. I know it sounds like the LAST thing you want to do but trust me when I tell you that…

I'm game!

Agreed. Eat more, smaller meals. Eat 4 - 6 small meals if it helps you feel more satisfied.

I have the Fitbit Charge HR and my hubby has the Fitbit Surge. We love them. I actually didn't even buy my Fitbit (or join MFP) until I had already lost 25 lbs - the Fitbit is my motivation to lose the last little bit and get my BMI and body fat percentage down to where I want it. If you have the means, the Fitbit Aria…

Ditto. Best group on MFP. I've wasted way too many work hours on my phone just perusing different threads. So much info and support. Everyone here is the bes!
-
Ditto the above posts. I eat a turkey burger every morning for breakfast. There's no reason to limit yourself to the conventional breakfast foods.

I'm surprised you haven't been linked over to alldayidreamaboutfood.com from that site. This is my all time FAVORITE for LCHF/gluten-free baking! You need to try the browned butter and chocolate chip blondies. My hubby and I (read: I) ate a whole 8 X 8 pan in three days with no weight gain. LCHF is the bestest!

Same here. I like knowing how I'm progressing and it motivates me to stay on track with what I'm doing. If I go up a pound or two and nothing has changed, I just assume water and/or hormones and just keep on trucking. I haven't gained any "permanent" weight since beginning to weigh myself every day.

If you want some good LCHF advice and information, join the low carb group. I find the discussions in there really helpful!

Sounds good to me!

You guys are the best. Thanks so much for your help! Time to do some shopping.

You're not wrong. You're definitely not on Atkins. People are just dumb. I love that people don't know that fruits and veggies are carbs. So cute.
-
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm guess I'm hoping more for specific brands/styles that have worked well for other people in extremely cold conditions.

I just started jogging about 2 months ago and I love it. No idea why I haven't been doing this for years. If you're on the fence about it, I say go for it. I thought I hated running and now that I do it about 5 days a week, I can't see why I thought it was so horrible. Just make sure you have a kick *kitten* workout…
-
*your advice. Damn autocorrect.
-
Thanks everyone! Today I just jogged slowly, did an extra mile, and felt great afterwards. You're advice was spot on!

I eat the same thing every day. Tastes good hot or cold. 4 or 5 oz of chicken 130 grams pinto beans 85 grams of broccoli All seasoned with only salt, pepper, and garlic powder. YUM! Nutrition: Calories = 243 Fat = 3 g Protein = 30 g Carbs = 22 g Fiber = 9 g Sugar = 2 g I don't get bored with food easily so I've been eating…

Thanks for all of the replies. Makes a lot more sense now!
