Same. If I'm going to take the time to make pasta rolls of an sort, it's going to manicotti. And there is no way I am working my manicotti into a normal day while cutting calories. ;)

Wait, so your heart rate was hitting 150 when exercising? Why is that bad? In hard sprints, I'll hit much higher than that. My steady state cardio pace is about 170-180 (according to the machines, which I don't fully trust). If you're hitting 150 while resting, that is bad. Either way, if you want the effect, just take…

All of this is 100% true. Don't forget to buy snazzy shoes to go with the clothes. I like square tipped black shoes, or square tipped boots. A nice pair of black shoes, paired with trim dark wash pants, and a nice button up shirt (I like purple), super masculine, and very authoritative looking. I think people forget how…

Finding pants that fit right is a chore when you are thin, but have big legs. I just had to get used to skin tight pants, because anything else was just baggy everywhere. I actually found that mall stores had the best fits (Holister, Express, American Eagle). They tended toward thin, but muscular cuts, rather than just…

I feel sorry for him, but you can't help people who don't want it. Unfortunately, like everyone else in existence, I had to learn that the hard way! And seriously, 20 pounds in 80 days? that is an abysmal rate (for someone with so much to lose). Sounds like he's been cheating the program quite a bit.

Depends entirely on the size of the bacon. The bacon I get is somewhere around 50-60 calories per cooked slice. No idea about the calories raw. As an aside. I got a triple bacon Papa Murphy's pizza a few weeks ago. I thought it was glorious. Three cups of bacon on a deliciously cheesy pizza. Making me hungry again. My…

As far as macros, it just sounds like a low carb high fat diet. Maybe someone who practices those can help you with macro counts. I like pizza too much to cut carbs.

Yeah. Pretty much all of the above. Being a large man (over 6' tall), I can easily create a huge calorie deficit with out dropping my calories very low. I eat 2100 calories a day (gross), and still maintain a 1000 calorie deficit. I also don't have to deal with so many hormonal fluctuations causing water weight. Obviously,…

Yes, you can target specific muscle groups that would like to train. You won't really build them while cutting though. Some sort of resistance training will help to preserve the muscle you have, so it can't hurt to start early. If you don't want to lift, then just start doing body weight exercises.

Each ounce of vodka is 64 calories (assuming 40% ABV). That's 512 calories, not counting the mix. So... yeah. ;)

I max out the leg press machine at my gym. I can't even get close to maxing the upper body machines. Your legs should be stronger. Unless the heavier weight is causing you pain, then keep it up! Strong legs are sexy legs!

What kind of G&T are you having that is so low? An ounce of gin (at 40% ABV) is 64 calories by itself. I've never had a G&T have less than 1.5 - 2 ounces of gin. Either way, 4 drinks won't ruin your deficit. Not really relevant, but a Gin Daisy, or a Gin Rickey is more my speed. Not that tonic is bad.

Why get rid of it? Just cut it to the portion you want, then apply lemon or lime juice to the portion you are saving. Don't waste apples! I usually eat the whole thing, core and all. But I prefer Gala and Fuji to Honeycrisp. :)

Alcohol won't stop weight loss. Just add the calories to your diary, and you're golden. I drink most days. Though, like @tincanonastring said, if I get buzzed, I may started getting the munchies. I just try not to get buzzed with friends, as we always seem to wind up splitting a pizza in the wee hours of the morning.…

It was pretty liberating when I realized just how much I can snack every day while losing a significant amount of weight. Being a 6'+ male has perks. Namely in that I can eat pizza and ice cream every day (if I want).

Raw: pickles, carrots, sugar snap peas. Roasted: Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower (though broccoli is far the superior). I could eat Brussels sprouts every day. So good. I also get frozen grilled chicken for quick protein heavy snacks. Something like 100 calories per 86 grams. Add Sriracha, or Cholula, and it's not…

Don't worry, it's not the pizza! I have pizza at least once a week (I love pizza), and I've been losing steadily! Since you cook a lot, I'd use the recipe function. That, in conjunction with a kitchen scale, makes home cooking easy to estimate. I use it for everything from soups, to bread, to pasta sauce. Works great!

You have more restraint than I. My step daughter and I can go through a bag of licorice Jelly Bellies in no time. :)

I eat junk food every day. I usually stay under my goal (or right at it), except the last few days, I've been hungry (and I went to my nephew's bday). So I've been over, but still in a deficit. Tonight, I wanted to get buzzed, so I did. Then I wanted Flaming Hot Cheetos, so I had a small bag. But I have "junk" most every…

To be fair, boot cut are actually cut for boots. If you've ever worn cowboy boots, to make jeans sit right, you either need the hem flared, or need to cut a wedge out. Standard jeans kinda bunch up a bit. Not a big deal, but the boot cut jeans look nicer, and give more room for the boot. That said, I have muscular legs,…

I find that pushups are good at strengthening the core. A well formed pushup should use the back, abs, chest, shoulders, triceps, and biceps. I use them along with situps to help regulate lower back pain. If I keep my back strong, my old injury doesn't hurt as often.

Even as a guy, I'd say this is true. I mean, I never looked at my wife's stretch marks, or baby pouch and thought "ew." They are pretty normal, and not really a big deal. I have stretch marks too. But once I lost the weight, I realized no one cared, if they even noticed at all. Of course, they are more likely to notice my…

Just hang, and pull. You can also raise yourself above the bar (maybe with a chair?), grab on, hang in the up position, then slowly lower yourself. Rinse, repeat.

The timing doesn't effect weight loss at all. Just do it when it best fits your schedule, or when you feel the most energetic.

Pushups are hard. I say so, and I used to do 100+ per day. It takes time to build up the strength and endurance. They engage a lot of muscle groups, and can be very intense. As others have said, start by doing wall pushups. Do a pyramid workout. Do as many as you can (or a set number, I like 10), rest, then do another set…

The hypocrisy is annoying (how does one establish a judgement free zone by judging others?), and the Smith machines suck, but it's not bad for the price. The leg press also has a distressingly low limit, but whatever. How is free pizza night hypocritical though? I went tonight, did my cardio, and grabbed a slice on the way…

When I sleep late, I just skip breakfast, and eat more snacks, or a bigger dinner. I don't eat breakfast all the time anyhow.
-
People bring in donuts and breakfast tacos all the time. I don't like either (donuts are too sweet, and I don't like eggs), so I always skip it. Events are different though. I usually try to skip them (I do not enjoy them), but sometimes we are required to go. I just kinda go light on the food, or have none, if I can get…

My friends are supportive, and don't care how fat or skinny I am. Most of my friends are thinner than me, though. So no idea.

The days I bring coffee to work, I don't drink as much water. If you aren't getting thirsty, then you are doing fine.
