My kids' school went away from the healthy "chef driven" lunch company and started what they call Fun Lunch, which is fast food 3 days a week. I let my kids get it, but the rule is they have to take fruit and dairy for their snack and another fruit for lunch. The rest of their meals are healthy. My oldest only ate chicken…

I use Yummly.com for a lot of stuff. Can pick specific dietary requirements, ingredients you don't like, and it will find recipes for you. I also take the Kroger Weekly Ad and see what proteins are on sale. Then I have each child pick a protein and 2-3 vegetables. Then I find a recipe that fits their selections. I've had…

Considering my goal is to lose at least 1/4 or my body weight, I'm just saving up for the 2 replacement wardrobes I'll need - the one at the halfway point and the one at the goal. If I want to do something ridiculous, I may go attempt some eating competition type thing like the 5 pound burrito or the 3 foot pizza.

I log my whole day with my morning coffee. Seems to help me stick to it when I see it all laid out. And it motivates me to exercise so I can have a little something that isn't on the list. Of course, I've been doing this less than a month so I probably haven't hit tracking fatigue yet.

Ah the clean plate club. That was pushed on me. Then when I started putting weight on in middle school, even though I played sports etc, it was attributed to me filling out before filling up because that was what my dad did at that age. Ignore that he and I have COMPLETELY different builds. Sports kept me ahead of the game…

Blue diamond almonds in a variety of flavors (I prefer the Wasabi Soy ones) Vegetables and greek yoghurt dip (16 oz greek yoghurt, lipton onion soup packet or hidden valley ranch packet, 4tbsp sour cream to mellow it out some) Honeycrisp apple and barney butter Popcorn with Kernel Seasons (can get a variety pack on amazon)…

PT said make sure to stretch my calves and feet and to try to make myself walk on the inside of my feet and push off with my big toe instead of my pinky toe. Says that based on muscle development in my calves, I used to walk/run properly but that I must have changed my stride at some point. I'm wondering if it was back…

Ham and egg bites with dry rye toast and a lot of coffee with more creamer than I should use but less than I used to now that I'm measuring it.

About 5 pounds and I noticed a couple older shirts were fitting better. About 10 pounds and my belt was easier to buckle and I could fasten it another notch in, though that's a little uncomfortable. Looking in a mirror, I don't really see a change yet, but my memory is that last time I lost 20 pounds before it was really…

I prep a lot of meals on Sunday. I premake ham and egg cups. Muffin tin, slice of ham, 2-3 tbsp egg beaters, a little cheese, some jalapeno, bake for 10-12 minutes. Wheat toast with that if I want carbs. On occasion I make overnight oats to alternate with that. I also prep salad ingredients. For snacks, I make bags of…

My teenager just went to college and “forgot” to mow before he left so the lawn was a week behind. Not an easy task with the reel. I’m tempted to buy a robot lawnmower just to taunt him.

In my experience, a meal that “hits all the tastebuds” is more filling than 3x the food that only hits some.

Monday and Friday morning. Lets me see the progress of the week, and it helps me focus through the weekend when it’s usually harder for me to exercise.

I searched McDonald’s in the forum and saw a few that said it should be ******* out. I think they were mostly older posts. I did the artisan grilled chicken sandwich and side salad with balsamic. No fry burgling.

MFP is usually the lowest for my walks, so I use that. It was about 60cal lower than the Nike app for my 3.3 miles on Thursday. For other things I don't know. For example, I did 51 minutes of seated elliptical this morning. Machine said 816 calories and 20.3 distance. I don't trust that at all because my height and weight…

Luckily, most fast food places don't have something that I just have to eat. Arby's - going to want that beef and cheddar. McDonald's - why yes I will super size my fries. Twice. I'm at a significant calorie and carb deficit for today so I may allow myself that small fry. Of course, it makes me think of all the Give me the…

I have the desk job that I pretty much only move to to deal with various biological needs. Everyone recommended I choose sedentary and track all my exercise. The 300 calorie difference was a bit of a shock. As for tracking, my sync with the iPhone health app shows up as running 5mph for my morning walks which are still…

I used to subscribe to a service called eMeals. Back then it was here are a bunch of recipes that use ingredients on your chosen store's weekly ad. Saving money always nice. But the best thing about them is that they were easy to make. Recipes were usually 5-10 ingredients and only a few steps. Of course, there were lots…

This week, I started putting everything I'm going to eat that day in the tracker until I'm max calories with my morning coffee. Then I go walk. I make as much as I can on Sunday (poached chicken, bags of cheese and nuts, salads that won't go all wilty.) Then it's just a matter of eating what I have. I was raised on cooking…

54 minute walk about 3.75 MPH. Another 30 on the desk elliptical. Some dumbells (bent row, stiff legged dead lift, scaption, tricep extensions.) And 10 minutes of Mountain Climb, Mountain Climb Daddy (Yup, I'm the mountain)

I did discover the other two apps do have an automatic pause function so I turned that on. I had to stop and retie a lose shoe and pace at 4 intersections, so that might have impacted time. Like I said, just my personal OCD.

I understand the "I feel a bit peckish let me grab a snack thing." I work from home too so a lot easier to get to stuff. That's when I go try on the t-shirt I bought at the Police Reunion Tour that hasn't fit right since 2009. Still doesn't fit right? Then I don't need a snack.

1/3 cup Greek Yoghurt and 2/3 cup milk. I've used regular milk and almond milk, both work. Tinker with the amounts to get the consistency you want.

I never advocate nuts in a school lunch because of allergies. Allergy parents have enough to worry about. I have them make their own lunches and check it behind them. Rules are: Dairy (cheese stick or slices) Protein - ham turkey the occasional Chicken Nugget lunchable Fruits/vegetables - at least 2 Chips/crackers/pretzels…

All of them have the same height and weight numbers. All started within a span of 3 seconds. Mileage is within a 10th of a mile. Times are 40 seconds different. Calorie counts differ by about 30 and I always use a lower number than the apps give me. It's mostly just academic/curiosity/OCD at this point.

This made me go measure myself. I came out at my expected height. Possible I did it wrong, but since I put myself in as an inch shorter than that anyway, I’m good.

I would say my mom's snide comments about my weight, but she'll just take credit for my weight loss because of them. Say she "motivated" me to do it. Be in better shape than the other Kindergarten dads is definitely on the list.

The last good meal? Roasted flat iron steak with petite gold potatoes and asparagus. The last good thing I cooked was grilled chicken schwarma. Last good thing I made was an edamame, green bean, dried cranberry and feta salad. I've had a whole lot of man that was disgusting the last week or so trying new things.
