Trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy. Went to the gym today. Then to the feed store for dog food and pet supplies. Preparing a roast with carrots and potatoes for dinner. Have an early platelet donation appointment tomorrow, so will check the grocery store before 7. Will be trying to work from home next week. Hope…

My gym is still open. Did some lifting and prowler work today. A little normalcy was nice.

Amen to that attitude, @AliNouveau.

Thanks for the reminder. I have to check on the irises on the west side of the house, where I don't go too often these days. A second for Jeanne Robertson. She is hilarious!

Well said, @AnnPT77! I always appreciate your insights. I. too, have learned to look at the long term trend and pay less attention to daily failures or successes. Always telling myself "Strive to do better tomorrow." Remember that in a month or two things will be back to normal.

Welcome to the new folks. And so begins another work week. I can do some work at home, but not all of it. Just as well - I would go stir crazy stuck at home for days on end. Have a great week, everyone!

Amen to that advice, brother.

Greetings, all. Hanging in there. Went grocery shopping yesterday - the cupboards were bare. Went back this morning - supplies were better and got most of the items on my weekly list. The grocery was still out of most paper products, bulk rice and pasta. I had hoped that the local folks would not succumb to the panic…

I take my pup for a walk - she seems to gain energy as the walk progresses. And I am the one who is usually pooped when we are done. HAHA! :D

Ginger snap crust! That sounds delicious in a key lime pie. Thanks for that tip, @AliNouveau!

I'm with you, Barbie. Just going to keep on living a normal life. I haven't been to the grocery store in a week. I'm hoping I can get what I need tomorrow. And I love your friend's advice. I will pass that on!

That's what I'm thinking. Netflix and rye whiskey. That's the sort of quarantine I'd sign up for. HAHA! :D

Heard that. I use to brew my own beer and I like to try new beers. Had to cut that out for the most part. Now I only drink beer with others as part of a social event. The beer restriction is my only regret about losing weight.

People do it both ways. I'm in a weight loss challenge in another group where we weigh in weekly - some people use the weighted average - some use the daily reading. Just use the same type reading all the time for accuracy for yourself. And it's not cheating - you don't need to explain it anyone. "To thine own self be…

Had a good day today. Donated platelets at the crack of dawn - then finished some repairs around the casa. Took the dog on a long hike, including some hills for a little extra fun. Fired up the grill for some prime rib for Sunday dinner and stayed under on calories. Life is good. Have an awesome week, y'all!

Beautiful country. What river is that in the background?

Good luck! How did heavy leg day go for you?

The realization that you are sabotaging yourself is the first step. You just gotta' be mindful all the time. Easier said than done. I also struggle with that self-sabotage sometimes. One thing I do is force myself to drink a glass of water and wait 5 or 10 minutes. If I am still hungry after 10 minutes, I will get…

I work in different offices on different days. Doesn't matter where I go - the temptations are everywhere! I need to keep both of those reminders front and center every day! Kudos to both of you for the inspiration.

Your food choices look good to me. Mostly whole food. Are you logging your food? Do you have a food scale? I'd start with weighing and logging everything I eat. It's a bit tedious at first, but after a couple of weeks you can look at the food log and figure out where you can reduce calories.

Went to the gym this morning for the my first lifting workout in a couple of weeks. Lordy, the strength goes away quickly. Bench was off about 15 pounds, but deadlift was off about 40 pounds. Yikes! A reminder to find a way to do some sort of lifting workout, even when away from the gym.

Hey, y'all. Catching up here after four days on the Salmon River. Good friends, good R&R and slow fishing. C'est la vie! I live in southwest Idaho - between Boise and the Oregon border. Spring is on the way here - had to peel off my jacket while walking the dog this afternoon. YAY!
-
Heard that. Fishing or playing in the rain is one thing. Working is a different matter.

I read this post and then went back and reread your earlier post. Don't sell yourself short. You have plenty of determination. 150 lunges and pushups during a walk - that is a great workout and that would kick my *kitten* for a couple of days afterwards. I try to go out regardless of the weather. I have no problem getting…

I've seen several posts in this thread where people note their weight fluctuations or plateaus and frustration because of them. Consider using a weight trending app like Libra (for Android users) or Happy Scale (for Ios users) - and there are probably other apps. I plateaued a couple of times during the early part of this…

Hello to all the new posters in this thread. Welcome! Got out for 3 miles with the pup after work tonight. Will be able to do that more often with the longer days. Come on, spring! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like. Always glad to share support and encouragement.

I noticed the same thing while intermittent fasting. It helped me to be mindful of actual hunger as opposed to eating in reaction to boredom or stress. Now I skip breakfast most days and eat when I actually get hungry.

Hey, y'all. Walked a couple of miles with the dog yesterday and threw the frisbee around with my son and granddaughter. Lots of work to do today. I remind myself "It's good to have lots to do". And I still sit on my *kitten* way too much. Have a good week, everyone!

Have a good weekend, y'all. Working this weekend in order to get some river time next week. That will get me through. And of course - the obligatory walks with the dog. Come on, spring!
