I've never heard of this myth, and no clue if it is true but I've noticed if I don't give into the munchies during that week, I actually lose some weight. I have no idea why and I am sure it is not something common but it is something I've noticed over the years for me, I am always a few pounds less during that week.

Are you doing your work outs on your own at home or in a class? I find that in a class I don't have time to feel bored because it's so fast paced and I am trying to see what the instructor is doing. If I do a workout at home it feels boring to me because I am in charge of my own pace and there is no motivation around me.

What % do you all find works best for the macros?

Had vitamin D recently checked and it was fine but I take pills for it which I occasionally take breaks from. Just restarted them today, so maybe it will help. I try to work out daily, but I have yet to become consistent with it. I do a cardio class at the gym followed by treadmill, some days only treadmill. I am eating…

I don't eat gluten because I don't tolerate it well. But I replace it with other carbs, gluten free oatmeal, sweet potato, rice, etc. What % for carbs do you think is good to have set as goal?

nope not a sleep issue either.. getting at least 7 hrs, sometimes 8

I like going to the gym as soon as I wake up, grab something quick to eat and go. I am too tired this early to talk myself out of going. If I go later in the day I can come up with a bunch of reasons why I need to skip gym today. Once I get there it usually energizes me for the rest of the day and I love that I don't have…

Sorry about your condition. I dont have any cause to it but my vitamin d is always low as well. Ive also noticed an increased appetite when my level is very low. My dr has recommended to take a low dose of vitamin d daily indefinitely. I also know few people with b12 issues who have to indefinitely either get the shots or…

I am not hypochondriac. The pain/ side effects I suffered was visible. Keyword WAS. If I were a hypochondriac I would've found a new ailment to worry about or continued to worry about this one. I am baffled why those that have no connection to gluten sensitivity or celiac do research on it and have such strong feelings to…

I hope that made you feel better once you wrote it out. Seems like its something thats been bothering you.

Good to hear someone with similar thinking. It really is nothing more than a calorie dense food. Arent any nutrients within wheat lost when processing it into flour and then the nutrients are re-added? I can find those nutrients naturally in other foods.

Totally understand you, and how sensationalism of gluten takes the seriousness out of celiac disease. This is why I always differentiate between what I have and celiac. Celiacs consequences to gluten can be life threatening while what I experience is just discomfort. But that doesnt take away the point that my gluten…

Yes this makes a lot of sense, some people don't have symptoms and don't get a diagnosis until much later in their life. Some people have symptoms, always test negative, and then years later finally get a positive result. Heard lots of stories of both scenarios. Wheat which contains gluten is also included in FODMAP. So…

I really relate to you. I suspect I have reactive hypoglycemia. I had hypo as a child so I guess it now came back. I feel like I was going through a roller coaster as well with my sugar. I gained about 30 pounds from always trying to remedy the symptoms with more food. Smaller meals, no processed sugar, small portion of…

You are ridicilous. Medicine is not set in concrete, there is always research being done. Medicine is always evolving, new information is discovered, information is retracted, causes for disorders are discovered, and symptoms are given a proper diagnosis. Just because a diagnosis doesnt exist doesnt mean the symptoms arent…

I see what you are saying, availability of more products doesn't mean it is legit. But an increase of products is great for the people who really need it and others that are trying it out. Wheat Belly points out that many symptoms, conditions, inflammations may be caused by gluten sensitivity. If someone is struggling with…

If you can eat it without any issues, there is no reason to stop and no one said it should be stopped. I haven't heard of it as a weight loss solution. However in mainstream I have heard it suggested in order to increase energy, alleviate any random symptoms someone has, reduce inflammation, etc. If someone is experiencing…

Atkins is a solution to weight loss, gluten free is a solution to symptoms people experience, not a diet fad. But yes many companies are getting on the bandwagon of gluten free products to make some money, but that's a good thing, theres a higher % of people being diagnosed now with celiacs or gluten sensitivity.

This is true, now that I have a little bit more of an understanding of how my body reacts to sugar and how to keep my energy stable through out the day, I am able to monitor my eating habits a little better. But this was difficult to figure out and I am sure for many with other health conditions it took time to figure out…

@peachycarol Exactly my issue. I know for sure I have a problem with sugar or insulin. I feel like my body has some problem processing sugar correctly. But I am yet to be diagnosed. I went from being diagnosed with PCOS to having the diagnose removed, to then being re diagnosed. It is not so much my appetite being…

I understand that conditions don't directly affect significant weight gain, but a lot of conditions disrupt hormones and disrupt normal regulation of your body. As some of you have stated this can lead to increased appetite. It is not really fair in my opinion to say it is only about CICO. When your appetite is increased…

Also want to add if you feel better without gluten, there is nothing wrong with eliminating it even if you don't have Celiac. I had a Dr who gave me a blood test and after it came out negative told me to go eat some pizza. Very insensitive to someone who has been struggling with stomach issues. I also don't do too much GF…

Gluten intolerance is caused by celiac disease, you can ask a Dr to test you for this. There are 2 ways of testing; either by blood test or during endoscopy they take a sample and send it to the lab for testing. I turned out to be negative for celiac, but I still believe I am sensitive to it because I can clearly see the…

Any specific recipes? Would like to start making my own dressings.

The Dr/nurse usually asks you beforehand if you are fasting or not and then the results are evaluated based on fasting or non fasting. There is a different range they look at if it is nonfasting. Not sure if this applies specifically for biometrics but that is how it is for regular blood sugar testing.

The ones feeling like they need to support MFP, you do realize they get paid for ad space? With the billions of users they have on here, I am sure they aren't suffering with their revenues. I have considered paying for it as well in order to be able to adjust it for different days and different exercise routines. But I…

I would fit in very well in Australia, I love wearing active wear. Leggings especially the ones specifically for working out make my legs look like they are in so much better shape than what they really are and suck in my stomach bulge really well lol.

I dont know if this is related to your problem but when I power walk for a long time, my finger tips on my hand get numb a little. I do crunches with my hand kind of like to get the blood circulating in order to prevent it from happened. Maybe this is similar to your feet and moving your toes around will help (as the…

I eat half and store the other half in the fridge. The half that goes in the fridge it should still have the pit in it, this is what keeps it from going bad. I wrap it tightly in plastic or put it in a container. It must be eaten the following day though. Sometimes theres a small layer of brown on the very top, but you can…
