Why do you use any salt- as mentioned above table salt is very high in sodium. I don't boil meat, but cook in other ways where I can more easily use herbs and spices for flavor.

Olive loaf. Of all the meats that they could choose. It's olive loaf. Who knows what is in that stuff!

Mrs dash has some marinades too. I've only used the teriyaki one, it was sweet but otherwise not bad.

Balancing the humors. My grandmother was raised like that and as her esophagus got weaker with age the no drinking with meals caused an abscess. (She recovered, but still wouldn't drink with meals.)

One of my grandmas wouldn't drink out of a can, but she just found it awkward.

My dad was like this, but it was bread. My mom was of the sort to always include a starch- but it might be rice, pasta, or potatoes. But my dad always wanted bread. I remember my mom throwing a bag of sandwich bread on his plate once when he complained. He has since realized how many calories it adds and is okay without…

That's me too.

Actually, for some things labels are better. Meat is often brined or salted- especially seafood and chicken. Labels help a lot there. Frozen vegetables are often unsalted, so if fresh is hard to get just double check. Eating out and most prepared foods are the hard things, most of those are a no. Way too much sodium.
-
You are eating sodium that occurs naturally in food.
-
I've only heard of extremely low in cases of severe kidney disease. But ask your doctor for a number.
-
Why? And there is no way to go no sodium. Your body needs some. Low sodium is usually prescribed for medical issues- I need to eat this way, it's helped my blood pressure, but I don't see any reason to eat low sodium unless it's medical.

Well, not all vintage info is good. I have a 1940's cookbook that has similar menus but recommends to use mineral oil in place of the oil in dressings and mayonnaise.

They want it to be difficult in the ways it is easy and easy in the parts that are hard (self control.).

Oh, I wish I could help more. That's what I fear- diabetes runs in my family and I'm already on a low oxalate/low sodium/low protein/high calcium diet for kidney issues. I think it's time to talk to a registered dietitian.

Rice. Cottage cheese, plain yogurt and some jam. Tuna. Frozen veggies or if they have any near you hit up a farmer's market. Bananas. Eggs. I noticed the dollar tree had frozen meals for a dollar, I can't eat them now for medical reasons, but they were a brand I used to buy when I made a lot less. Tuna and a little mayo,…

I keep stuff I can quickly grab for breakfast and eat in the car. I don't like to eat breakfast, but I need to for meds. Generally it's some kind of cereal I can eat dry. Not the most healthy, not the worst.

It depends on how perishable the item is. If you will use it before it goes bad, buy the bigger package, if not buy a package you can use before it spoils.

$200 a month is what I aim for- $50 a week. I will say I eat low protein, especially meat because of kidney stones, but high dairy. I also eat on the high side of carbs. Eggs are a big amount of my protein besides dairy. Use your store card- if they have an app that's has online coupons, use it. I've gotten some good deals…

With 10 calories it's not affecting your weight loss. There probably is something off with your logging. It still counts as water.

Just a note- I work in the almond greowing part of the state. Most producers in the last few years have switched to more efficient watering techniques. The related trees, like apricots and peaches use the same amount of water. Now to answer, I eat almonds but not as much as I'd like because I get kidney stones and they are…

The label says 60 mg per 1/8 tsp. So it's 360 mg per teaspoon. Still not low, and add salt or soy sauce on top of that....
-
I've been doing it since January. Probably will do it forever since I'm watching certain things for medical reasons. It becomes habit.
-
Sauces used in proper amounts generally aren't high in calories, but are usually high in sodium. Mrs dash makes some low sodium sauces/marinades. I've found others but it involves a lot of label reading.

It's very possible. Some studies think that what used to be blamed on MSG after a Chinese restaurant meal is actually from the high sodium. MSG has a lot of sodium in it.

Caramel corn or kettle corn

Unsalted butter, or one of the many oils out there. Olive, avocado, coconut, grapeseed.... will reduce sodium. All are similar in calories, and fat is a nutrient- just in moderation. We need some- ever heard what happened to pioneers who lived on rabbit as their main food? When I want to use less oil, I use a misto to…

I eat starchy carbs every day. I actually have a carb heavy diet because I have to limit protein for medical reasons. I've lost weight and my blood work is looking better with a combination of diet and medications. Limiting carbs is not one of the dietary modifications.
-
How long ago was it? And is it not possible that they ate less of the higher calorie foods?

If you have kidney issues you are put on a low protein diet. Manageable by NOT eating crazy amounts of protein.
