Besides the above issues, I discovered that the entire meal I logged for dinner on Saturday has disappeared from my diary.
-
I can;'t seem to log any new recipes, I'm also wondering if I should find a new app

This just showed up in my Facebook feed. Some legislators are trying to change it. http://www.cjonline.com/news/20180507/capitol-insider-podcast-efforts-to-lower-kansas-sales-tax-on-food-fails-for-lack-of-guts

That was a big surprise to me when I moved there for a few years.

Nobody has mentioned buttered popcorn jelly bellies.
-
A roommate and I once ate ourselves sick on butter mints in college.
-
If it’s aged properly the alcohol “cooks” the eggs.
-
I like sardines in tomato sauce on pasta. Strangely my cats don’t pester me.
-
I’m not vegan so you will need to double check labels, but I love their Kung pao cauliflower, and vegetable birds nests. Both are in the frozen section. The rosemary marcona almonds are good too.
-
That is a good page. I discovered them when I needed to go low sodium/high calcium and Safeway offered me a coupon for a really good deal. I tried it and now they are in rotation. (Do check labels for sodium content.) I’ve eaten them like tuna salad too.
-
I log every day. Mainly for medical reasons. I’m at a good weight and not trying to lose now, but I am watching my sodium and what I eat that could contribute to cholesterol. So every once in a while there is a crazy day, and it’s logged.

Oh, an often maligned budget food is sardines. Low calorie, high protein, high calcium. A can of the ones canned in tomato sauce mashed up and put on pasta and topped with a little cheese is a quick and cheap meal.

So true about perishables. I have chickens and guinea pigs so they can pretty much eat anything I don’t, but I also freeze a lot. I portion out meals into single servings and label and date with the month and year and throw them into my freezer. Also, if I open a jar of something that won’t last until I use it all, I…

Teflon eventually wears off. If you get a good one it lasts longer. The t-fal I had lasted about 10 years. The calphalon I have is lasting longer, but I don’t expect it to last forever. But I’m the only one in my house now and roommates were hard on the T-fal. Nobody else except the occasional family members who is…

Ceramic and Teflon don’t need seasoning. Neither does stainless. Just cast iron and steel.
-
It’s fine to wash them. But yes, keep it oiled and dry it well between washing and oiling. My mom put them on a low burner, so that’s what I do.
-
But with cast iron you do need to still use oil. Especially before it’s well seasoned. I use cast iron, stainless steel, and also have one calphalon nonstick pan for the stuff that just really wants to stick. Some people prefer the ceramic nonstick, but the only experience I have with that is one of my instant pot inserts.

The vlasic purely pickles is still high, but lower than other brands. I keep them around since I have to stay low sodium but still want a dill pickle now and then.
-
As others said... the box serving size means dry.
-
Can you get the Lipton’s onion soup packets? Mix one of those into a tub of sour cream. I miss that stuff since I need to watch sodium now.
-
I had two sonic cheddar peppers and ranch. And a large cherry Vanilla Coke. The person making it put four cherries in it!
-
Some people use it in lasagna. I like it cold with some Penzey’s sunny Paris on it and chips dipped in.
-
If it’s whole vegetable it’s impossible to know. Usually supplements are discouraged in stone formers.
-
I like it and drink a lot. I like the peach pear, passion fruit, apricot, and coconut the most. I like some of the other brands of sparkling water too. (But not all). I need to drink a lot of water because I get kidney stones and it helps.
-
I use a lot of canning jars. The wide mouth kind- I can freeze single servings in the pint and half pints, then cook up some rice or pasta to go with them for a meal. I also have some of the Pyrex storage containers. Mostly the round ones that I think are 4 cups and come in all sorts of designs. They make divided glass…

I do the paper towel thing. And only a very thin layer. Just enough that you can barely see it. Or get a coconut oil spray.

There are other issues than high blood pressure that require low sodium. But if you don’t have any of them I wouldn’t worry.
-
Well, when I was that weight and height, I also wore a 6 at old navy. That was 20 years ago, so it looks like they haven’t changed their sizing.

Here is the website I’ve been referencing. https://kidneystones.uchicago.edu/the-kidney-stone-diet/ it includes links to actual studies to back up what they are saying.

Not in one usually. But the combination of the higher protein, sodium, and ingredients like soy and nuts that make them high in oxalates just make me stay away. (The amount of protein that is too much varies by person) I’m laughing at the fact that my post based on actual science got woos. Have any of you looked into…
