You lost a pound in 10 days? That's not bad.

There should be a Godwin's type law on these type of threads along with a cpmpetition to see how many posts it takes before someone is crass and inhumanly tasteless enough to bring up Holocaust survivors in their rush to pass judgement on people who have difficulty with their diets. Trufax: not a single sane human being is…

The fitbit is a more accurate measure of how much you are burning than whatever mfp is telling you, if that is what you are eventually trying to get at here. If you walk up a flight of stairs and your heart rate goes up to, say, 100, it is because your body had to work to a certain level to walk up that flight of stairs,…

I have PCOS. What worked for me was - a low cal normal diet and going to my doctor for the proper medication. Low carb just made me sick and gave me dietary deficiencies.

^^ This. You know, your metabolism actually rises by about 200 calories for a few days - that's part of the reason for the cravings. The gain is mostly water bloat. I try not to weigh, or don't take the weighing seriously. It all comes off afterward anyhow, so long as I don't go completely nuts.

Start over again tomorrow. Sorry for your loss.

What is with all the posts by dudes who are unhappy with their gf/spouses body and want the internet on their side when they go to confront them about it? ffs

You're doing great by the way :) It's a long term process. People who lose quickly tend to put it back on quickly, remember that.
-
A lot of people have the delusion that fat people lose weight more quickly. It isn't true.
-
I gained most of my weight (up to a whopping 315 pounds) on a vegetarian diet. I was pretty disappointed.
-
That's why we call them sometimes foods.

118 pounds lost, have gone from... something like 50+ J cup (hard to have an accurate measurement at that size) to 40DDD.
-
Sounds like maybe your real problem is with self control in general.
-
currently trying "the junkfood diet" out of boredom with lowcarb and just to piss off all the low carbers and "clean eaters". No change in weight loss or fat loss. Sorry, it's just calories.

My policy is generally to live without regrets, as one decision and life choice generally flows from the next, but if somehow magically I could go back and change things given some foreknowledge, I would: Not go on the pill in college, as it contributed to the health problems that led to my weight gain and migraines down…

A lot of this thread reads like "the fantasy of being thin".

The misery and loneliness you feel because you have no more social life. The constant, grinding hunger because to actually lose weight and keep it off long term means never being able to eat anything that tastes good or anything in a quantity that will leave you satisfied ever again.
-
tbh - you don't need to lose weight from the stats you posted, which is why you aren't losing weight at 1500. I don't lose weight at 1500 either because that is my maintenance intake. If you want to lose you will have to eat less, plain and simple. But it isn't' really clear to me why you do want to lose more weight. You…

To expand on that - someone close to me who shall remain anonymous for my own protection since I am married to them (haha) complained they gained three pounds over the last few days and it must be because they "didn't get enough sleep". Since I want to not get a divorce I decided not to mention the literally 5000-6000…

Because there's a limit to what you can physically burn off. You'd die of a heart attack from over exertion.
-
Ohhhh , nooooes, if you go lower than 1200 you will DIIIIIIEEEEE and screw your metabolismssss! Trust me that's all the advice you will get from the MFP people. Yes, women with PCOS and insulin resistance sometimes can have a BMR as low as 1100 a day or even slightly lower. Not that most people here are going to believe…

Yes, you're overanalysing. Your body doesn't actually look at food you eat and decide if a food is defined by human beings as "refined carbs" or "fruits and veggies". It just digests food and deals with carbohydrates in one way, proteins in another way, and fats in a third. Everyone needs carbohydrates to live. Many of us…

To add - you leave out a lot of pertinent information like - what was it last year? Was it a fasting test? Was the TOTAL cholesterol 230? The good cholesterol 80? Aka the HDL? What was the LDL? And yes one week is not enough to really change anything in your blood work.

"Could "healthy fats" be an oxymoron for me?" No.

You only lose weight by cutting your calories. Sorry but the whole "some foods are evvvviiil" clean eating nonsense is just that. Enjoy your Pepsi in moderation while cutting your overall calories and working out more and you will see results.
