  • Im 41, In my 20s my bmi was about 23, im aiming for 25 now which is the upper limit....I.dont think I could carry off the skinny look in my 40s. Everyone is different but this is just how I feel. Your body shape changes as u age I think bein the weight I was at 21 just wouldnt look right for me 20 yrs later. Just try to…
  • I just use the cheddar one, but the blue cheese ones would go well with it too
  • Cottage pie. Dry fry the minced beef with onion, draining any liquid, add a beef stock cube crumbled, peas and carrots and a little dried mixed herbs. A tbsp of tomato puree and just enough water to cover. Simmer for 30 mins topping up with water if needed and a tiny bit of gravy granules at the end to thicken. Pour into a…
  • Saute some mushrooms, garlic and lean bacon bits then add hot pasta, melt through 2 extra light laughing cow triangles over the heat and serve immediately. Its delicious!
  • Waist is at the smallest part of the torso and hips at the widest part, this is how I do mine anyway! Dont breath in, and make sure tape measure isnt tight but comfortably snug so its not digging into u....... but agree with previous answer, as long as u measure same part every time it wont matter
  • Im doing ww just now for a month to see how I get on as I plateued for months. I stilll track on here too just needed something new to shift my last 14lbs. Im eating less, my 30 smartpoints often is only 1100 cals, iv lost the 7lbs that I gained at xmas. I am definitely making better food choices as bad foods tend to be so…
  • Iv signed up online for a month after losing 50lbs on mfp, I kept gaining and losing the same 7lbs since last October so felt I needed something different to challenge me. Lost 5lbs my first week and two this week so its going well. I stilll track everything on here though but as im not a big fruit or veg fan (fruit and…
  • Like someone else said if I cant possibly get accurate calories at a resturaunt I try to guess by how full I feel and I do a quick add entry.....I know when iv eaten a big 1000 cal meal versus 500. If its deep fried, added cream, oil or butter or with added fries I know its gonni be be nearer 1000....I usually do a quick…
  • I found the first 6-8 weeks I lost consistently....2 or 3lbs weekly after the first massive 8lbs on week one. This lulled me into a false sense of security because it does get harder...and less room for error as the lbs drop. Now just a couple of bad days and I can gain 6lbs which takes weeks to come off. I can go a whole…
  • I personally find one day off a week helps me. By 'day off' I mean 3000 cals at most.. I weigh on a saturday morning and saturday night I have a few drinks and takeaway of my choice...deep fried..whatever, I dont count it. Whatever works for u I say. it certainly gives me reason to stay focused during the week. Im always…
  • I like a saturday morning weigh in. Im very disciplined sun-thurs but fri/sat nights are my downfall. A saturday morning weigh in ensures that at least ill b good on the friday. Thats my logic anyway and works for me.
  • Roast your potatoes in fry light and cut visible fat off your meat, I have 2 generous slices usually. I use gravy granules rather than making it with meat juices as lower calories. Be generous with the green veggies but keep butter away from them. Log everything, if u dont go overboard on portions u can have a nice roast…
  • When u were dieting for your wedding did u have these regular binges then? I only ask because I find I binge when lacking motivation, a wedding is for most people a huge motivation. Now the weddings been and gone so maybe your struggling for something to aim for? I am a bridesmaid this summer and nothin got me more…
  • I stopped last September, I did gain a little but I dont think it was because I was eating more.....I still logged everything. The cheat days were becoming a bit more often but I think that was more to do with me lowering my calories because by that point I had lost 3 stone. If a heavy smoker stops smoking the body…
  • I keep back 200 cals for bedtime. I have a toasted sandwich of low cal bread, a light cheese slice, some wafer thin ham onion and tomato. a cup of tea then off to bed with my kindle. Reading has really helped me id reccomend it to anyone who suffers from night time hunger attacks. When I stay up late watching tv I find it…
  • Im 41 and lost over 50lbs. No facial sagging at all, iv got a nice neck now and just the one chin, I think I look younger. But iv always looked after my skin if that matters. My tummy is another matter ha ha but I dont care about the rest. However I do think after a certain age we shouldnt aim for too low a weight loss.
  • I tried it...didnt work for me. sw works as a diet yes but only cos u stuff yourself full of free food, once u start counting the calories youll find those big plates of pasta are tiny...and forget about all the unlimited fruit, boiled eggs, cuts of cold meat etc that u can snack on, when counting the calories especially…
  • Me too! My cheat days are never planned, I think people use the word 'cheat day' when really it was a 'oh fuk, I may as well start again tomorrow....kinda day!!' ...a perfectly normal part of a weight loss journey and something that happens to me at least once a week....even after losing 53lbs.
  • Today I had Weight watchers mature cheddar and onion crustless quiche and walkers sweet chillli sunbites....total cals 394cals.
  • My goal weight will take me to a BMI of 26. To even be of a bmi of 22 would make me the same weight I was at 15....and very skinny! Im 41 and 5'11, iv no desire to b the weight I was at aged 15.
  • Im 5'11 and the lowest iv been was 160 around 10 years ago. I might b a larger frame to you but I was very skinny at that weight. Im currely at 196 I think (im used to talking stones not lbs) but have lost 53lbs. My goal is 170 as this was when I felt my best and im 41 now so it doesnt do women my age any favours to aim…
  • I eat out regularly but like some have already said I try to stick to chain reaturaunts, especially the ones with calories on the actual menu. Otherwise u cant go wrong with a medium sized steak and jacket spud with salad without creamy sauces for around 700 cals. At really calorific resturaunts iv been known to have the…
  • Iv not read the replies but u dont need to eat healthy food to lose weight, u just need to b in a calorie deficit. Iv lost 53lbs and today for lunch I had 3 chicken selects from mcdonalds (359 cals). Surprisingly filling btw...and delicious!!!
  • Im 41, lost 51lbs still got about 17lbs to go but iv been stuck for months. Really struggling. Also im a bridesmaid in September and dress doesnt fit yet :-(
  • I only log when I lose weight never when I gain a pound or two.....unless its a big gain and I know the reason for it..like a holiday, xmas etc.
  • Iv noticed while losing the first 40lbs I was able to have a generous cheat day per week without it havin any real impact on my weekly loss. 54lbs down now and 17lbs from goal its getting harder and harder to recover from those cheat days. Now my cheat days are limited to 2000 cals instead of the usual 3 or 4000 cals.
  • I dont have a sweet tooth but love salty savoury snacks. Pickled gherkins, onions and beetroot when im bein good and if not it has to be salted peanuts, bombay mix or spicy crisps....all counted of course :-)
  • I have a,bridesmaid dress to fit into in September. I had to choose a size and as im only three quarters of my way to goal weight I ordered one size smaller. The zip doesnt quite go up yet....but Im guessing another 14lbs itll fit me like a glove.
  • I managed to lose 50lbs whilst not even counting my wine. Some nights just a glass, some nights a bottle and a couple of nights none at all. I figured surely just eating much less would make me lose weight and it did. But iv been stuck for months and still have 17lbs to go so my new years resolution is to either quit it…
