So back to the topic at hand, almond milk is a good low-calorie alternative to cow's milk, especially because you don't like the taste of cow's milk! But keep in mind that almond milk doesn't have as many nutrients as cow's milk, including that hefty 8g of protein per cup. If you're looking for a milk alternative, you…

I find that a lot of time when I input a recipe. Definitely flag incorrect values when you see them!

By the way, just wanted to say that most of those body fat scales are notoriously inaccurate. I wouldn't trust those measurements at all.
-
Also I second all this! Being hungry for 9 months straight sounds like the worst thing ever.

Your weight plateaued and you're still losing inches. It started around the same time as you became more diligent at weight training. And you have a personal trainer who is pushing you at every session. Are you sore after every session? Are you getting stronger? Rebuilding muscle does cause a very slight weight gain (I…

I will ask for half the meal in a to-go box at restaurants where I know the portions are gigantic, like Cheesecake Factory (they have 2,000 calorie salads!) and at Chinese restaurants (who can eat six cups of fried rice in one sitting anyways?) Often, I will have to box up my own food, since many restaurants will not do…

This might sound like a silly question, but are you using the same scale in the same spot to weigh every time? We had a guy on here a few weeks ago that was switching between scales and there was a 7 pound difference!

I think this is the start of something beautiful... or at least the start of a daily reminder to drink my f**king water.

OP, I missed the part in your post where you said your period came and went and you hadn't lost any more weight. I'm not sure what the problem is here based on how you're eating. Maybe a medical problem? Do you have a dietitian or nutritionist you're seeing?
-
I can feel how overwhelmed you are through this post. I'm a huggy person, so I'm sending you a digital hug *right now*. Your weight will naturally go up a few pounds during your period. The weight you lost so quickly and are gaining back just as quickly? Most of that was what we call "water weight". Your body retains fluid…

I only have 9 pounds left to lose, but I also have a huge sweet tooth!

It's probably not muscle gain. Women who are not training like bodybuilders will typically gain .5 lb of muscle a month. Women who train like bodybuilders can gain up to 1 lb of muscle a month. You're most likely eating above your calorie limit, and that is leading to this slow weight gain. I had this same problem when I…

I just want to point out that the USDA value for bananas is "peeled", so it's probably not 40 calories more. Banana peels are pretty heavy, and if you use the weight of an unpeeled banana in your diary you are likely to overestimate. Same for bacon - the serving size in grams is typically for a "cooked" slice of bacon.…

Women who are doing everything right - getting enough protein and calories and lifting properly and often - can gain 1 pound of muscle per month, max, unless they are taking hormones designed to increase muscle mass. I have heard that men can gain up to 2 pounds of muscle per month naturally. I doubt that's what's…

Don't you ever insult Texas by implying any sort of relationship with Florida. We're hundreds of miles away for a reason.
-
I've found that sometimes cyclical hormonal changes (like my period) or changing up my workout schedule can make me retain water in weird ways. I bet you that in a week, you'll drop two or three pounds all at once when that water weight puddles out. Don't worry! You've been logging properly since January and you've been…

Is Texas just full of fat people or people who waste time on the internet?
-
These were not the sort of traps I was expecting.
-
Not much of a sense of humor, either.

I think you look good. Since you're not digging your look, you need to build muscle, lose fat, or both. Unfortunately body shape is something you can't really change, so if your body likes to hold onto fat in the belly then that's going to be the biggest part of you for the foreseeable future. Do you have an example of…

Have you ever heard that when an insect dies, it releases pheromones with its death warning other insects to stay away? There is a similar phenomena with humans and desperation. We can smell it from a mile away and avoid it like the plague. Or maybe it makes us pile into a thread about how to get women to find a random…

well there's one day ruined right here

When I first had my Mirena IUD put in, I had like three months of nonstop period. I was so frustrated that I looked up ways to stop the bleeding, and I found that someone on the internet suggested taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 4-6 hours (that's 4 tablets of 200mg Advil). I took the ibuprofen like that for about two weeks…

I met my boyfriend through the Craigslist personal ads. Maybe give that a try? If it doesn't work, at least they'll be an axe murderer so the question is moot at that point.

Go according to those menus and make about a quarter less food. BAM. 1200-1500 calories per day. Want less? Taking out a third of the food will put you at 1,000-1,300.

Oh crap, I still typed almost 200 words :'(
-
Eh, I had typed out like two hundred words on this, but it was just a long-winded way of saying that everyone is different and it's hard to make generalisations on what might or might not work for OP. I don't log on Saturdays (at least not very accurately) and I still lose weight. I have friends whose food logs are so…

I agree with your assessment. The MFP app is my arch-nemesis. Not really into fragrances, the username is a reference to an old Bemani song.

:s When he's right, he's right.

The website is way better than the app, I will grant you that.
