  • I love that you put all this out there. I log every single day (and days ahead of time) religiously, but truth be told...while it's helped me immensely, it bothers me that I'm so hung up on it. I'm not ready to give it up quite yet, but at some point I'd like to.
  • As far as the walking goes, sometimes I get some daily movement in by driving to a shopping center...parking a little further away, and then walking around stores/strip malls/or the actual mall. It seems to make something mundane a little more fun because I can people watch and window shop. Just a thought.... Or what about…
  • Well...you really don't have to workout. You can lose weight simply by watching your calories. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with just walking if that's what you're willing to do exercise-wise. It's great low impact activity that anyone can do and everyone can benefit from. If all this is new to you and you're…
  • Thank you. Orthopedist said I don't have any tears in there. Just a lot of inflammation, hence the injection. I'm afraid the next time will be a tear if I'm not careful though, and I can't work if my arm is in a sling. They suggested I do 6 PT sessions so I'm all signed up. In the meantime I'm just stretching and keeping…
  • Ok. I've been lifting for a year now and recently managed to irritate my rotator cuff. I've had issues with it in the past (unrelated to weights) and this time earned myself a cortisone injection and a few rounds of physical therapy. I was planning to ask this when I start therapy next week, but since you're here...what do…
  • Not what you want to hear, but after 10 days of no pain relief I had to get a cortisone injection in my shoulder yesterday. If it keeps up you had better have it looked at.
  • New goals are always great! Just don't go diminishing what you've achieved so far because you've come a long way and should be nothing but proud. Keep up the great work!!!
  • Everyone seems to have covered all the troubleshooting so I don't have anything else to add except that maybe you're just getting a little burnt out and need to take a few days off from the workouts. I get like that once in a while too, but if I get a little extra sleep for a few days and let my body rest I feel much…
  • Well the good thing is you can lose weight regardless of what you're physically able to do. Just stick to what you enjoy eating while staying within your calories. If you find yourself getting hungry then choose foods that are lower in calories so you can eat a higher volume. Walking is great and safe exercise for most…
  • Why can't you see their diaries unless they're losing weight? Maybe some of your friends have their diaries set to private? Just saying that you should be able to see everyone's log as long as they have it set to be viewed.
  • I agree with all of these posts. Everything does center around numbers though. Everything from the scale and ones body measurements/fat percentage, to counting calories... Tracking workout progress/step goals, and then into clothing sizes and what size we wish to be. It's all numbers and so hard not to get fixated on one…
  • What I want to know is why would you be drinking while you're working?
  • Meanwhile I'm still stuck on why we want to be "pushing the fat around."
  • Someone here told me to buy a health o meter scale from Walmart. I did and it works perfectly.
  • I'm still trying to wrap my head around the label of being a "super taster". Same as the "foodie" people.... Interesting....
  • Yup....start embracing them because chances are good that they aren't going anywhere. Mine are also large, and despite having lost a lot of weight...working out regular, ect... My calves have only reduced by 1/4-1/2". They're here to stay apparently, so I'm just letting it go.

  • I have bouts of feeling guilty too, but...it's not like I'm sitting in bars while my kid is home being neglected. I do things to keep him healthy, and my eating right/exercising keeps ME healthy. That's very important too, yes?
  • Yeah...I ummmm....googled too. My dream body would be Ronda Rousey. Ain't gonna happen, but maybe I can become a pee-wee version.
  • This is why I love the Happy Scale app. I just log my weight in it every morning, and then I can see what my average is over a week/month, ect. If the average keeps downtrending then I need more calories and vice versa.
  • I'm struggling more now, but not because of summer events/food. It's the heat that is seeming to sap my energy somehow. Being in the a/c helps but I still feel lethargic when the humidity gets bad. It's surprising me because I thought I would have loads more energy but it's proving to be opposite.
  • I don't have one, but I think rather than being worried about pain when working out afterward I would be asking how long it takes to heal completely. That isn't something I would want to be doing anything to interfere with the healing process with. Just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean it's healed completely.
  • Cottage cheese and fruit is fast. So is oatmeal. Sometimes I'll cook some pancakes and freeze them in portions so I can pop one in the microwave. Lately I've been putting a fried egg on a 100 calorie English muffin.
  • I think you look great. I've gotten many of the same comments from people and as hard as I try to blow it off, it's still hurtful. I tend to be self conscious all on my own without commentary from others..... I will say that the comparison pics you posted (phenomenal change btw!) show your face as being quite thin now. I…
  • I've managed to gain 9lbs over a few days, so I believe it. It always happens after several days of eating out (not straying very far out of my calorie range)....eating heavy carbs/sodium. All the extra water, plus the food in my system makes the scale jump way up. It can take me a week to get back where I was after those…
  • You said you want the weight gain to go to "those areas". The weight is going to go where it goes. You can't have it pack on anywhere in particular. That's what he's saying.
  • My lifting workouts logged on mfp haven't transferred to Fitbit for days now. Used to work perfectly.
  • I lost 40lbs while vaping, so...no. It does suppress my appetite just the same as smoking did.

  • I think it could be made into a nice group either for the specific supplement or for hard gainers.
  • I have a few tolerable things on my list for times like this. I've gotten the hard fresco tacos before. Grilled chicken salads/sandwiches with minimal/no dressings/sauce are generally what I go for. I always pass on the fries. If I'm faced with fast food, I just get something that will hold me over until I get home or can…
  • I was thinking along these lines. My ex is a very insecure person, and every time I would lose weight/feel better/gain confidence, he would change and get nasty. I would end up gaining everything back, either due to comfort eating because of the fighting or somehow to make peace again. That's far from the only reason I got…
