My weight is constantly moving up and down within a 2-4lb range. Just about everyday is different. As long as I stay somewhere in the neighborhood I'm good.
-
I'm 5'4/120lbs (down from 157lbs). I'm at around 23-24% fat and trying to recomp. You can add me if you like.

I love snacking at night so I eat lighter throughout the day to accommodate that. Didn't stop me from losing weight.

^^This. We all love food. Who doesn't? The idea here isn't to give anything up. It's to learn moderation. Treats are great. As are holidays and all the good stuff. We still get to have all that (with bigger indulgences here and there), but it's just a matter of keeping it in check. This is only as hard as you make it.
-
You don't have to do anything like that. It's not that complicated! Simply weigh/log all your foods properly and stay within your daily limit. That's all it takes!
-
If you're going to have to force yourself out the door to get there, then...no. And I don't see how it makes anyone more accountable. I do find it motivating for me though. Just being in the atmosphere and having other people around me at 6am working out makes me want to move too. It's still up to me to get myself in the…

This. It's weird to weigh food in the beginning, but you'll quickly get the hang of it and it will take no time at all. It's what got me losing weight. I'm pretty much trying to maintain my weight now and I still use it. It's that easy that I'm ok with continuing.

Truer words were never said! Which is just so, sooooo sad because I love me some snickers bars. :/

Don't be nervous. There are plenty of things to read and how-to videos online. Start with a light weight that you can easily handle for practice. You can even practice at home with a broomstick. As you get more comfortable you can start bumping up the weight. You could also start with Dumbbells if you're more comfortable…

This is what I do. I don't log it in mfp at all. Fitbit picks up that I'm walking...logs it for me, and gives me whatever calories for it. The only workouts I ever log on mfp are for my lifting.
-
Just keep at it and it will happen. I don't know what my starting fat percentage was but it was at least 30% if not a little more. Now I'm around 23%. It really is a slow process, but I do see changes as I'm going along which keeps me motivated.

^^ Yup! I swear the heavy weights are lifting my butt. LOL! I wouldn't be focused on making your booty smaller, but as was already said...you definitely can tweak the shape. I still think your measurements are great. I measure the same but I'm shorter than you at 5'4 and weigh 122lbs.
-
I have the same exact measurements. 25 waist and 36 hips. I've always been bottom heavy and I don't expect that to completely go away. I think lifting weights is changing the shape of my butt however. I'm making peace with it.

Well...why have a cheat day then if it's triggering to you? Why not just settle for incorporating a small portion of those things into your diet throughout the week? I think it can be more damaging to treat foods as taboo and then try to make them "cheats" then to get accustomed to portion control when you want something.

I'll tell you what not to try. Optimum nutrition cookie dough. Its the most vile tasting shake I've had yet. Almost returned it to GNC it was so nasty. Quest salted Carmel is good.

I didn't see where you want jeans that sit higher up. I still would say to think about trying the American eagle jeans. They're cut different than other jeans I've owned because they come up higher in the back than the front. Say...just under your waistline in the back and slightly lower in front. Definitely not "butt…

Usually it's a sandwich of some sort. Lunch meat/cheese, tuna, veggie burger, with veggies in low carb tortillas or on 100cal bagel thins. I either have a side of cottage cheese, a snack size bag of chips, or small Apple. Once in a while I throw the meats in a salad instead.
-
What I've started buying to remedy that is low rise jeans. They sit lower on the hip and eliminate having to fit so much smaller through the waist. I found jeans that fit my pear shape well in American eagle. Old navy had a cut called the sweetheart (or flirt) that worked for me too. Good luck. We pears have it tough. :/

I hope you don't have Alzheimer's because it's an evil disease. Had you had any experience dealing with it you wouldn't be making smiley faces.

I'm 5'4 and have gone from 157 to 122lbs. I'm trying to lose a few more right now along with being on a weight training program 4xs/wk with a smidge of cardio mixed in. If anyone needs more friends I'm happy to have another with similar goals.

I would just eat the brownie and blow it off. Things happen. Life happens. Brownies happen. As long as it isn't everyday it won't make any difference in the long run. I meticulously log my food daily and use my food scale religiously, but seriously.... Things are going to happen and sometimes we just have to lighten up and…

I do, and my weight is different just about every day. Many times its up, which it is today by 4lbs. It will end up dropping back down once the water I'm retaining comes off so I'm not sweating it. Some people like daily weighing but it makes others crazy to see fluctuations, which are inevitable. They happen to everyone.

That's fantastic! Congratulations!!!!

If he doesn't have a huge appetite the easiest thing would be to eat high calorie foods. Peanut butter, nuts, avocado, oils. Anything that is a buttload of calories in a small package.

Lifting is the best thing you can do for yourself exercise-wise. People already said what needs to be said, but you definitely can learn on your own if you have to. There are plenty of videos online and things to read. Pick a good beginner program and stick to it. Perfect the moves and increase the weight as you're able.…

You would be much better off eating what you're supposed to and losing at a slower rate. What you're doing now is setting yourself up to lose muscle, not fat. Not only that, but you will inevitably end up putting the weight back on.
-
Yeah.... I'm fine with dropping a few more pounds. I'm happy with what I've managed to do so far, but I feel like sooner or later am going to have to stop dropping weight. I fluctuate between 120-124 now, so cutting a bit more is gonna put me in the high teens, ya know? I can get the weight off, but it's gonna get to a…

Wow....that's crazy Carla! Amazing progress!!! My legs make me so sad because I can feel that my quads/hamstrings have changed but I can't see a thing because of the fat. I can barely pinch anything on my stomach, but I can grab an entire fistful of muck on my thighs. Thanks so much. Ya'll have made me feel a lot better…

^^ That's what I was talking about right there!

Thanks for the input, and the compliment. My fear is spending a ton of time trying to recomp and not getting anywhere. There are so many opinions on it and variables to consider (I think I've been reading too much) that I feel like I'm talking myself out of it because I don't want to end up spinning wheels. I realize the…
