  • Sounds like you found what works for you! I think we all need to find our own path. Some may need a more strict and rigid program while others can work it just as well on their own. Some think I'm nuts because I don't feel I want to get to my doctors set goal weight. I was there at one time and I didn't feel good. I felt…
  • Thanks! I have done some internet searching and found a site that has some simple recipes I want to try. They do include protein powder. When I try them I will let you know. The carbs are lower and protein higher. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/diy-protein-bars-healthy-bars-in-5-easy-steps.html
  • I look forward to seeing them!
  • Tat2cookie- I am inspired by your meal prep. for the week. Do you make your own meatballs? If so could you share the recipe? I am also curious in what you put in your sweet potatoes. I should be able to try some of these things now. Thanks!
  • Wow that is interesting. My nut. actually said I was probably in ketosis but the fogged me never even thought about it when I got home. I will try your suggestion and find some information on it to read. Thanks!
  • Great advice! I had the sleeve I was able to take my blood pressure medication up to the day before surgery and after. It was a small pill and I had no problems with it. I would have to say it is all up to the size and effects to your stomach. My pepcid after surgery was also pill form. I wouldn't worry too much about it.…
  • Great Job!!! "Woohoo!" says it all!!
  • Oh my I know how you feel. I was just told I could add regular food but I don't feel like I'm up to it. I was also told to add a few more bites when I eat but I just can't do it. I just wish the fog would lift. I fall asleep when I sit down to rest, not at all like me. My nut told me yesterday it will pass and I'll start…
  • Interesting article. I have already focused on some of the loose skin I have, especially on my neck. We are are our worst critics. On a positive note I was shopping yesterday and walked past a full length mirror stopped and walked back to look again. I thought wow is that really me! I still have a long way to go but it did…
  • You rock girl! The holidays can be a difficult time. So proud of you!
  • Yea! Target. It does feel good to get out. Your doing awesome with your activity. I am now slowly getting my time up on my stepper. I am able to get 10min twice a day now. Walking is still my go to exercise. I also feel fatigued but it is slowly getting better. Do they have you on a cream for the yeast infection? Sounds…
  • I very rarely used sugar before I started this process. Carbs were my poison. I found the pre-made protein shakes sickly sweet. I use a little monk fruit powder to make my own now. I get 4 uses from one single serving pack. I dont find that it makes me crave more sugar but everyone is different. If I noticed that I was…
  • Sounds like you are doing great especially with some unexpected difficulties. Good news with your heart. I had bad nausea the doctor called in a prescription for it and it was over in 2 days and I haven't needed the meds since. Hopefully yours passes soon. Keep up the good work!
  • I was wondering also.
  • Not a problem. Everyone on here is so supportive. Today is your day! I will be thinking about you. When you feel up to it let us know how well you did.
  • You only have a few more days to go! How are you doing? Wishing you smooth sailing.
  • Oh I'm so sorry for how your feeling. The only thing that I can suggest is a few home remedies that I have used for gas in the past. In the morning before you eat anything drink a glass of warm water with a TBS of lemon juice. It would also count as you liquids. I dont know how it works but it does for me. Ginger or…
  • Your right with the tuna! I had pureed tuna with lowfat mayo with a little seasoning. It was delish and went down well. I was gonna add a little water but it pureed well. So far no problems and I ate it over 7 hours ago. I want to buy plain yogurt to use with it next time. Certainly better than any protein shake!
  • I was gonna try an egg this morning but decided to wait. Now reading what it felt like for you I'm glad I did not try one yet. I want one so bad. I think I'll wait a few days before I try.
  • I was told today that I could discontinue my blood pressure medication!
  • I've been advanced to pureed and I can gradually add soft as I feel up to it. I was out shopping today with my daughter so I stuck to a protein shake. It was just convenient and easier. I did have two small bites of my daughters mashed potatoes. I was in heaven. I know not to make them a regular thing but I enjoyed those…
  • I have one of those husbands that can eat anything and not gain a pound! Errrrr! Then again he is an ironworker so he burns an amazing amount of calories a day. I used to tell him I'm gonna become an ironworker so I can eat like him. When I told him about the surgery he was very concerned about how drastic it seemed to…
  • I go in tomorrow also. Since my surgery the smell of whey makes me nauseated. According to my preop class and the manual They handed out today would have started my puree phase. I just decided to wait til I see the surgeon tomorrow. For me the soft diet phase starts at 4 weeks and goes on until week 6. Like everything else…
  • Its exciting to get your surgery date! Angie is right with the above information. I would add chapstick. My lips were so dry and I was so greatful for it. I was just fine with stacking two pillows but some people need to have more support. A pillow to hold on your belly for the ride home may also help with bumbs and turns.…
  • I think they are both great options with their positives and negatives. My question is why is your surgeon not equipped to handle a leak in a sleeve? I don't mean to sound pessimistic but that would put a seed of doubt in my mind that I could not let go of. Maybe your in an area that does not have many options. I went to…
  • Aw! Awesome update. Enjoy that Christmas party!
  • Welcome! You will get great support in this group.
  • Thanks for sharing! Visuals always help.
  • I'm so weird. Sometimes I want my fluids warm and then the next time I want ice in it. I just decided to go with what I'm craving at the time.
