Angie you have been such a inspiration for me. Being a week before me I followed just about everything you've posted. You have been so positive and it gets me in a better frame of mind. Thank you!

That is the hardest thing but I've decided not to be so hard on myself and it seems easier. I think I was stressing myself out too much. I am so glad things are going better for you. I have been thinking about you. Soon this will all be a faded memory for us and we can focus on the big picture.

Congrats on your surgery date! I agree with all of the above. I am just over a week post-op. The pain wasn't bad for me and I left the hospital the next day. I had the sleeve with no drains. I did have nausea after I got home and a bout of diarrhea. Do not buy too many protein supplements for after surgery. Your taste will…

I've told my close family members. I knew I needed their support in my journey. There are other people who I will not tell just because of their negativity. I had lost 60lbs before my surgery and had several of these negative people ask how I did it and I told them the truth. I told them I exercised more, cut carbs, cut…

I have watched some of them. Some seem to be more realistic than others. It was not a decision for my surgery but I can see where it may help some on their path to WLS.

My doctor gave me a form from ProCare pharmacy. They run your insurance to see if vitamins are covered. I pay 25.00 for everything I need for a month. It includes Bariactive multi, calcium, iron and Nascobal B12 nasal spray. Every month they will mail them to me. The phone number is 855.828.1488

Glad to hear your surgery went well. I was thinking about you while I was in the hospital. My surgery was pushed back. I had to wait 2 more hours. The pain wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Today they had me sip and walk. I did well enough they sent me home. Now I'm gonna go rest a bit. Take care!

I just got home a few minutes ago. The surgery went well and I did not have as much pain as I thought I would. Got a mile walk in today going around the the hospital floor. It was not all at one time. My surgeon found a hernia and repaired that also. Now I'm gonna lay down and get a little rest. Thanks for the all the well…

Welcome! Congrats on your surgery and your progress so far. I love this group. Tomorrow I go in for my VSG. So I will then be on the other side. You may also friend me if you like.
-
Thanks Kim! I am feeling very relaxed today. If I can just keep it going til Monday.

You are doing great. I appreciate all the info. It prepares me and gives me positive thoughts. It looks like your eating plan is about the same as mine will be. ssbeadlady: It is a little strange that doctors differ in before and after plans.

Ok I'm on my liquid diet so I'm drooling while reading all of your great dinner ideas. I can say today I tried the peanut butter powder in a shake for the first time and it was soooooo good. So thats my dinner.

Yes I'm having the VSG. You feel just the way I do. I have had surgeries before so that part doesn't bother me. It's the not knowing how I'm gonna do afterwards. I hope we both have smooth sailing. Lucky you, no liquid diet. I guess I should not complain too much some people have more than a week. Angie Thanks for the…

Great to hear you are feeling better. Sounds like you have great support in your husband. I go in Monday for my surgery and I'm thankful for my husband also. I tried to prepare him for whats to come.

Hey surgery twin I have to be at the hospital at 10:45. How have you been doing? It has not been easy on the liquid diet but I've been doing it. I go back and forth between excitement and fear as the date gets closer.
-
Makes sense. At one of our support groups the discussion was "carbs good or bad" They explained the good reason to have carbs in your diet mood, heart, memory, etc. We just need to find our balance. Glad it solved your depression. I will have to keep that in mind as I move forward with this process.

Im sorry you are having such a difficult time. We have been told that we can schedule an appointment with the psychiatrist anytime we feel we need to. We also have a monthly support group. I hope you have the same options. Take advantage of any support you can.
-
Congrats on surgery! My sleeve surgery is scheduled 11/23 Feel free to add me if you like.

I do the quick 500 calories when I'm below. Now that I'm on my liquid diet I have to do it. It does not add any other values and you can easily see where you've done it if your nut. looks at it for your log.

Hope all went well and recovery is smooth! When you feel up to it let us know how you are doing.
-
Anyone can feel free to friend me. This is a great group with even greater people! You'll get support and questions answered. I get sleeved Nov. 23rd. I just started my liquid diet. The first day actually went better than expected.
-
Congrats! Don't worry about the spelling issues. Hope things go smoothly and you have a speedy recovery. Keep us updated.
-

Great job!

I like to go walking when I don't feel like exercising. The best part is no matter how far you go you still have to get back. lol I understand you said its difficult in your area but be a bit creative in how you get the walking in. Most schools have tracks that allow locals to use and as previously suggested other indoor…

Here you will find some great advice and support, as you can see by previous comments. I am in the beginning of my journey with surgery on the 23rd. I have had some negative comments but I think many people are uninformed or just plain negative. One thing that helped me was support meetings. My surgeon has a monthly…

I recently found Boulder Canyon protein crisps at a local store. I picked up the dark chocolate flavor to try them out. I find that they curb that sweet craving I have without being overly sweet. They have 12g of carbs, 10g of protein,120 calories and 2g sugar. The serving size is aprox 47 chips but I usually am satisfied…
