Fantastic job!

That the funky body odor I've had for years is gone. How badly my breasts sag now that my belly isn't holding them up. How my weight loss has spilled over into all aspects of life. I'm not just physically healthier but mentally and spiritually.

I'm 62 and have adopted two special needs kids. I suddenly realized that if I'm not there for them who will be?

We do Christmas Eve. This year's menu includes: A vegan soup Sliced roast turkey roll on ciabatta rolls with choice of cheese Shrimp tray Crackers with pepperoni dip Vegan eggnog Mulled wine Cheesecake and brownie bites for dessert.

Good idea for reflection. A year ago I weighed 202, no exercise, drank too much Diet Coke and moaned because I couldn't make it to church. Took an honest look at myself and have lost 64 pounds, 4 months since my last Diet Coke, walk 3-5 miles M-W-F, strength train T-Th-Sat and make it to church most Sundays. I've become…

New clothes are a consequence of weight loss. My rewards are things I've wanted but thought were silly. Got a tattoo, spa day, Geek Squad clean up on my laptop to name a few. Funny thing is that as I get closer to my goal, the rewards don't seem as important.

Starting a bit late but I'm in! SW 202 (12/22/14) CW 137.8 GW (for 2/29/16) 128 62 yo 5ft 1in female.

Not sure it's healthy but I'm going to bank some calories before Christmas and use those so I can have a little of everything. I will continue to log.
-
That is perfect! Now, if I can just figure out how to print it.

Remember that this s not a temporary "diet". It's a life change for the better. Therefore eat and exercise in a way that you know you can do long term.
-
This shows what my weight is doing lately.
-
My best suggestion is to get one thing right at a time. I started with diet, added cardio and finally strength training. If I had tried to start all 3 at the same time I would have been overwhelmed.

You are compelled to come back and add the tums you just took.

Link please!

Live and learn. You should see more loss shortly.

Love reading all the comments. I started last Christmas at 202 and currently weigh 138. My goal is a range of 117-127 so I'm getting there. I count, walk and just this week started strength training (oh my sore muscles!). I'm 62 by the way.

I just ate my first protein bar. It was a Power Crunch Salted Caramel and I loved it. My question is "what makes a GOOO protein bar? By that I mean how many calories, how much protein, how much carbohydrates and how much fat is considered appropriate.

Thanks!

I'm a bit late to this discussion but here's my take. First of all, yes, appetite can increase with the use of antidepressants but this is not an excuse to not losing weight. Losing weight comes from the conscious decision to reduce intake despite feeling hungry. Secondly, I'm reading a lot of opinion based on some…

Interesting idea and true for me. Moods often seem like reality and I tend to base my choices on mood instead of fact. Guilt is an everyday part of my life. I find that I set standards for myself that are impossible to attain and that I would never even think of placing on anyone else. I'm willing to forgive everyone but…

I started on WW last Christmas and was fairly successful. I then added MFP a little later and double tracked for a while. I gradually transitioned to MFP because I find checking calories much simpler than converting to points.

Convincing myself that I deserve to be healthy and not seeing a "fat slob" when I look in the mirror.

I, too, appreciate all of the information. My goal is to strengthen muscle while continuing to lose fat. At this point I don't care about building and defining. Is this a healthy ting to do?

Another 60+ woman here. It's not easy but calorie deficit is the only way to lose. I started with logging, gradually added cardio using a heart rate monitor to figure out burn and currently am taking baby steps to add strength training. I started at 202 pounds last Christmas and am currently 139. I am aiming for 117.

Sorry about your mom. That can be hard. As to your brother, ignore him. The numbers don't lie 80 pounds is amazing.

@pearso21123, I check the MFP database. If the actual restaurant isn't in there I try to find the closest thing I can, use a higher selection and deliberately overestimate how much I eat. May not be exact but it works for me.

I just started using a verilux light in August. I did have to go up on my Prozac recently but I think I'd be a lot worse if I didn't have the light. I won't know for sure until I get through March.

Taking your advice, ordered the book.

Good tips, bad tips, odd tips......we're all different so different things work. For me, it is finding an eating style I can live with forever. That means I eat out, stop at fast food places and eat convenience foods. I hate to cook! I've learned to read labels, measure (weigh) things and eat reasonable portions. I've…
