Fighting the panic
I've been at maintenance for about a month. So far, I've kept in my chosen range but how do I keep from being dissatisfied that the scale is no longer moving down? Also, any way to fight that panicked feeling that occurs when you near the upper limits of your weight range?

Weight sneaking up
Over the past week I've seen a 1 pound gain (gradual increase on a daily basis). I was nearing maintenance. Im thinking about reducing my calories from a recent (about 3 weeks ago) increase to 1450 back to 1300. Im 62 and petite with a fairly sedentary life style. Good idea, yes or no and why?

Weight stall/gain when starting program?
I'm only on my second day of lifting but have noticed my weight is bouncing up and down (I weigh daily). Is this related, a plateau or time to review my diet?
-
Help!
I'm not hungry or thirsty but I want to eat. I'm already over 300 calories past my quota.

Taking a break?
Did you ever consider this? I've been working on weight loss through diet and exercise since Christmas of 2014 and feel the need to relax a bit. I'm thinking of eating maintenance for my current weight and easing off on the exercise for a month. I'll continue to weigh daily. Is this a bad idea?

First hurdle crossed
Made it through the family Christmas Eve bash and stayed under my allowance despite eating what I wanted (and then some)! Now on to Christmas dinner.....

I fell today!
How can this be a success story? 1. I tripped on uneven pavement while walking 5 miles in 82 minutes at 5:30 in the morning. 2. I got back up and finished my walk at pace. 3. A year ago I couldn't walk a mile and as far as 5:30am, I would have been barely conscious.

Scale question.
I se a Tanita which measures fat and water as well as pounds. I'm aware that most people say the fat isn't accurate but what about the water? Also, if the same scale shows a consistent drop in fat, can I consider that as progress?

Earlobes
Can you lose fat in your earlobes? All of a sudden my pierced earrings just hang.

When does walking become running?
I hate the cadence of running. It's always felt awkward to me so I walk by choice. Today I finally hit a 4 mile per hour pace and am hoping to get faster. Is there a limit to how fast a person can walk? FWIW I'm only 5 ft 1 inch.

How long.....
.....does it take for strength training to become a habit?
-
Exercise calories
Everyone uses these differently. What is your reasoning for why you do or don't eat them? Do you intend to eat them in maintenance?
-
I know it's not been a week but......
My loss has evened out. The only change I've done is add strength training. Can I really blame that?
-
Exercise calories
My Apple Watch estimates calories burned during exercise based on heart rate. Is this fairly accurate? Also, should I eat back those calories?
-
A hard lesson learned.
I love to eat out and refuse to stop. However, the last few times I went out, I actually was able to stop eating when I was satisfied. This included letting myself have a few bites of dessert. Celebrate this victory with me.

Strength training
Hand weights or machines?

Transitioning to maintenance
I'm about 14-24 pounds from my goal range and recently increase my calories to lose 1/2 pound per week instead of 1 pound/week. Was this premature or is it a good plan?
-
Decreasing rate of loss/increasing calories
I have some where between 14 and 24 pounds yet to lose (not sure where I'll feel comfortable). I've already lost 60. I just decided to drop my rate of loss from 1 pound/week to 1/2 pound/week. This will increase my calorie allotment from 1290 to 1360 (yes, I am short and older). My concern is that I may be doing this…

Probiotics
Yes, no, why? What kind do you use?
-
Yoga?
I've only done walking in my exercise regimen, slowly increasing speed and distance. Now I am starting a basic (balance) yoga video for 30 min twice a week. What benefits can I expect?
-
New scale.
My scale is dying so I got a Tanita scale/fat and water monitor. It just arrived this morning and I haven't had time to check it out. Any suggestions on transitioning to a new scale. What should I do about the discrepancy between scales? Is the body fat/water content accurate?

Is 8pm too late to exercise?
I try to get my cardio in early in the day but today that has been impossible. The earliest I can do anything is 8pm. I go to bed at 11pm. Will this be a problem?

Guessing at calories
Ate out today and am having a hard time figuring out the calories. I've guesstimated how many calories each item had (using this app) and claimed the calories for a whole portion but only ate half. What do you do?

Help!
Ive been stuck in the hospital with my son since Tuesday. So far I've stayed on plan but I'm losing it and it's almost time to go to the cafeteria for supper.
-
What's wrong with 1200 calories?
I don't get it. I keep reading posts from people who insist it isn't possible to stay on 1200 for long. I've basically done so since December with a 54 pound loss so far. Am I missing something? Harming myself? I feel full and content and don't deprive myself of treats.

Need a shove
Spent most of the night in the emergency room with my son. Walking does NOT look attractive. Help!

Be happy with me!
I got too warm while walking today, took off my jacket and was shocked to find I could tie it around my waist!

Another walking question.
I'm trying to walk 2 miles a day. I'm usually pushing my daughter in her wheelchair (about 150# total). My heart rate averages in the 130s. I can't seem to attain a pace faster than 2.5 MPH. Am I doing enough or is there something I need to add?

A little celebration and a question.
I've been working at this since Christmas. So far I've lost 49 pounds and gone from a size 20 to a loose 12. I figure I have about 30 pounds to go. Even my ring size has changed a lot! My question concerns my calorie allowance. I'm usually about 100 calories below what I'm allowed but occasionally (maybe every 2 weeks) I…
