You're right. Something I need to work on. Thanks to everyone else as well. I like the idea of setting new goals, maybe time to think about a non diet/exercise one.

I've lost 78# and look like the saggy, baggy elephant. I've only been at maintenance for a month and plan to give myself a full year to see if anything tightens up. If it doesn't I'm hoping that I will have achieved some level of acceptance.

Awesome work!

Just read the WHOLE thread. Not sure if I wasted my time or got a good laugh. I really didn't learn anything.

Go for it. Sometimes it can be good for both of us.

Very timely discussion. I came here to write a similar "failures" post. I sat down with a bag of Tostitos and a jar of salsa after already wolfing down half a bag of mini peppermint patties. I'm so full my stomach hurts and yet I'm having trouble stopping. I feel like I'm at the top of the slippery slope and losing my…

Very boring but it keeps me full. 2 large biscuits of Shredded Wheat and 1/2 cup of 2% milk. 225 calories.

I transitioned from WW to MFP not quite a year ago. What I did was double log for awhile until I get the feel for calories vs points. As as the splurge points are concerned, you can deduct any number of calories from your daily 1700 and save them for your splurge each week if the extra treat matters to you (say eat 1600…

I'm so 62, started CICO in December of 2014. As of today I've lost 77 pounds with 8 to go. Anything is ok in moderation, just be honest with yourself and log everything.

Great job!

I'm another one who will swear it really is CICO. I started Christmas 2014 at 202#. Today, at 62 years, I weighed in at 126.6#. Some exercising but I tend to cop out in the winter. I have eaten anything I want and wherever I want since I love eating out including fast food. What I have done is control my portions and make…

I beat myself up for maybe an hour then log it all here (sometimes posting my "sin" on one of the boards) then move on. Realistically I may have delayed reaching my goal by a few days but that's all.

It would be so much easier to just post what I don't like. Mayonnaise Sour cream Coffee Tea Olives

I guess mine is that when someone loses weight that somehow makes him/her an expert. If you're not doing it their way then you're doing it wrong. CICO is the answer and how you apply that principle is your business. To me, sustainable means a change that you can continue using forever.

I,too, just did the math. 404 days and 72 pounds lost. That works out to be 1.25 pounds per week. Not bad! I think that a lot of discouragement comes from the fact that the closer I get to goal the slower the rate of loss. However the other thing I remember is that those 404 days would have passed whether I was dieting or…

I'm a daily weigher because I find the information essential to keep me on top of my game. Not weighing feels like the first step to not logging. I guess I'm one who likes structure.

Thanks guys. Sorry but I caved and ate 700 calories of chocolate. To quote Scarlett O'Hara, "tomorrow is another day..." Pray I get back on course.

To be honest, I initially chose a goal that I figured wasn't possible. I was 202 and aimed for 145. On hitting that, I decided to try for a range I was comfortable at in my 20s. That range is 117-127. I'm about 3-4 pounds from the top of that range and in a healthy BMI. I'll continue to work on my weight until it feels…

Thanks. Break's officially over and I continue to lose weight. Easing off was scary but felt great!

Thanks to all! I do feel a little burned out and appreciate the support you've provided. Having gone from couch potato to exercise 6 days a week in a year's time has left my brain struggling to catch up. The advice, suggestions and warnings are very welcome.

That's me, for sure!

Oops, forgot the vegan lasagna. So I'm a bit over. Oh well, tasted great.

My idea of heaven.

Sorry you allowed yourself to get bogged down. It hurts but you can overcome. Welcome back!
