Yes, I am looking to lose about 9 kg.

Cycling and swimming are great low impact exercise options. I also enjoy skating and skiing, but the latter probably isn't great on the knees.

I am looking for more friends to help keep me accountable. I am trying to cut gluten dairy and histamines out of my diet, as well as live as long as possible by staying active and eating lots of vegetables and salads. I'd like to lose about 15 pounds. I love to skate, ski swim and ride my bike.

Yes, glad to hear about your success. Sometimes I forget that exercise feels good.

Good post. Puts it all nicely in perspective.

I'm 46, Mom of three kids, living in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I've always been pretty active, but struggle with maintaining a healthy weight. I love to ski, skate and ride my bike.

Oops- I meant to say: "steer clear of any drugs" if you can help it. Pharmaceuticals are over-prescribed in our culture (and often have nasty side-effects). We can do this!

I think I am an emotional eater too. I like the tips that others suggested, but I would definitely steeper

Please feel free to add me. I have been through the teenage years with one child, and I know that it can be challenging. I work full time and have two school age children at home. I do like working out at the gym, but I only consistently make it once a week. While it is nice out, I bike to work. Evening snacking is my…

Please feel free to add me too. I'm a forty-six year-old, married, mother of three and back to MFP after a bit of a break. I need new friends here. I also have a busy life/ job but I am determined to start prioritizing my health.

I live on Ottawa, Canada. The coldest capital of the world. Our winter is loooooong. And in Feb the cold is actually painful. We bundle up here though. I wear either down or sheep skin coats and lots of layers. The clothes matter. Plus I ski, skate, and do lots of other winter activities. We're really into hot tubs and…

Hi there! I'm another full-time working Mom. It's not easy to juggle it all and take care of yourself too. But we can do this! I like a lot of the tricks that the other Moms use to fit in their exercise and better food choices. Some other things that I do are: get help with cleaning (and don't fret over a little mess)/…

We decided to dine and dash- because we thought those calories wouldn't count...what we didn't realize was that an off-duty cop was checking her out

You can add me. I think I'm a good friend- when I'm serious about this wink:

Don't beat yourself up Kat. Sounds like you're doing really well. Keep it up!

I'm down to about 152, GW for this challenge: 146.

Hi there- I'm 45, and back to tracking after a six month or so hiatus. For me, this works, and I need the discipline in the fall and winter months. Feel free to add me as a friend, if you want to broaden your network. We can do this!

I'm 45 and 5'6

Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you're really motivated. You can do this! I started this journey a little over a year ago and was able to get to a healthy weight by staying on track. The last couple of months I've floundered though- by letting other priorities (work, the kids, etc) take over. If you want to…

I use Clinique. I have rosascea, which makes my skin fairly sensitive. I also try to shield myself from the sun, with sunscreen, hats, etc.

I hear you. When you get back to work- and you have a new baby- you face a new level of exhaustion that you've never had before. I've been there, and done that. 3 times now. The good new is that it gets easier (as you recuperate post-baby) and you adjust to your new life. Here's my top three suggestions: 1) Pay for help…

I have noticed that my rosascea got worse too. I am treating it with a topical anti- bacterial cream which I cover with moisturizer, and a yellow pro-biotic powder that masks the redness. I am also taking vitamin A for my skin. My skin condition is probably aggravated by the exercise I am doing (anything that flushes my…

You can add me too. My Dr. Says I should lose 15 lbs- but I'd like to lose more... My Diary is open to my friends.

I have a big family- so the luxury of keeping a few oils around. And I like to eat the oils that I find taste the best to me. I use olive oil for Mediterranean cooking, Canola and Peanut oil for stir fries, and Olive oil in my salad dressings and vinaigrettes. Sometimes I use butter instead of oil, like For caramelized…

Yes, that's right Deb, my post is about Ontario, where 40 per cent of Canadians live. It looks like you and your family have the benefit of living and in Canada's wealthiest province, with the best health system. We are not all so fortunate. And many of us in Ontario are in the dark about which vitamins we need to take,…

Looks like there' some conflicting views here about the Canadian health system. I appreciate the concern from my friend in the US- and I looked into what is happening here. The doctors here (in Ontario) do run blood tests- even if you are healthy- but apparently only once every three years- if you ask for it (as I did late…
