Guys, to be clear, my body burns 1644 calories a day (my BMR) without me doing anything regardless of how many calories I eat in that day, right? I.e. if I don't eat 1644 calories, it will still burn 1644 calories?
-
So will my body burn 1644 calories a day by itself?
-
So I have to eat AT LEAST 1644 calories to maintain my weight because that's my BMR? Any less and I'll lose weight? Is that right?
-
Exactly. You've pretty much hit the nail on the head.
-
I haven't discussed it with anyone in a professional position other than a personal trainer at the gym who told me "Seriously, don't lose any weight.", I seem to ignore it when people tell me that. I'm beginning to think maybe I should make an appointment with my doctor though. :-/

The 1072 calories includes the 2 packets of crisps, by the way.
-
My friends always say that I need to seek medical attention, and that I have body dysmorphic disorder. But I seriously see something huge when I look in the mirror... I fail to see what could fix that other than losing weight.
-
I've eaten 1072 calories including dinner. It's 9pm at night here.
-
Really? So the 130 calories in a 25g of crisps will include the calories that are in the carbohydrates and fat?
-
Are the calories in the carbohydrates, fat etc. included in the total calories on the back of the packet? Or do I have to add those in separately?
-
So the fact I've eaten 1072 calories and my BMR alone is 1644 means I will be losing weight right now even though Ive had the crisps? Should I add the calories that are in the carbohydrates, fat etc. to that total of 1072 is the calories in the carbs, fat etc. included on the back of the packet?
-
I'm 5'11, my BMR is 1644 and today I've eaten 1072, as well as doing about an hour of excercise. My BMI is 19.3 and I'm 25, I'm 9st 13lbs but I want to be about 9st ideally.
-
There's only 4 calories in carbohydrates?! So if I was excercising, it's okay to have that bag of crisps as long as I'm creating a calorie deficit while I do it?
-
Oh, so those 2 packets of crisps don't really matter too much as long as I'm in my calorie deficit?
-
Would my body enter starvation mode?
-
What would happen if I ate below my BMR?

It's not so much that I feel flabby, although I do have a bit of a tummy podge. But I want to be even slimmer, my jawline isn't as sharp as it used to be, and it bugs me a lot. I'm in an industry that requires me to be very trim and slender.
