  • Im also on this train! I am 5'8" and a similar weight and need a goal. And yes the photo is believable - people carry weight differently and it may be muscle mass. I relate to you OP
  • I used to find it really plain and almost sour too, however I have actually now got used to the taste of 0% greek yogurt, and have no problem eating it! It's very rare that I have it on its own, but if you leave fruit (especially frozen raspberries) in it overnight with some oats, it's yummy
  • I'm a Maid of Honour in September... Hoping to lose as much as possible, maybe 35lbs if I'm VERY lucky! Fingers crossed  Anyone else on a similar journey, feel free to add me! I'm 213 at the moment, hoping to get to 140 eventually.
  • Dedicated workouts - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (40-60mins) Walks - Daily at lunchtime (30 mins) Long walk - 2hrs at the weekend. My social life/household chores take up the rest of my free time, which can also keep me active! I believe the above is plenty.
  • Fitness Blender! I quit the gym because I found their workouts more beneficial. They have so many videos - bodyweight exercise/dumbbell/weights and cardio.
  • Yeah I totally know what you mean. Even though it's within my calories, I feel that it doesn't give me good energy, it's stodgy food and the grease isn't good for anyones health... I always regret it.

  • So, how do you explain height and big feet? Don't embarrass yourself with lack of common sense!
  • This was me last night, i couldnt sleep because i felt so hungry. To be fair, i couldve been thirsty, but I still had a large banana (130cals)
  • Thanks all, I'm going to continue what I'm doing and reduce my salt intake whenever possible. I will also eat some of my exercise calories back in the form of bananas :)
  • Great start, I do agree with others about the gym, building muscle as that will be visible with weight loss - you dont want to be skin and bones! I quit the gym to workout at home as that works better for me. 30 mins a day is totally doable.
  • I make seperate meals - He gets the usual and I will have soup and a roll which is surprisingly filling, or a smaller portion of the same thing. He doesnt have to diet because you are, but healthy eating can benefit everyone.
  • Thanks for your reply, my calorie goal is 1,200 and it does get to about that (or slightly over) with about 3 cups of tea a day with semi skimmed milk and a sugar!
  • Thank you, and good idea. Just trying to see if there's anything blindingly obvious diet-wise that I should change. As stupid as it sounds, I didn't actually realise it averages at 1lb a week... I was expecting to have a 6lb change by now! 3lbs isn't too bad, the scale is going the right way and my insides will be…
  • I see, thanks. I do like salt with my rice at lunch, I have one packet which is 3g at best. I am using a lime and pepper seasoning for my chicken, and I try and use pepper instead (which I had to do today due to no salt!). Apart from that, it's in the soups I have, usually about 1g going off the labels.. I have pre-logged…
  • Happy to see someone in the same boat - hopefully it'll pay off for us!
  • Natrium? What's that?
  • Thanks for your reply, I do weigh everything and do it 'by the book', which makes it more frustrating!
  • Thanks for the info - helpful!
  • With running you need the correct form to avoid injury - I wouldn't recommend obese people to run due to the sheer mass repeatedly going on to each joint, a soft jog would be more beneficial, those new to it need to learn the form if it doesn't come naturally! (Look it up on Youtube)
  • I recommend FitnessBlender on YouTube, I quit the gym because I found their videos so much more beneficial for myself - and completely free. You don't need a trainer as long as you can follow the video and have a large mirror so you can see your form. Keep your back straight and don't forget to do your stretches! I have a…
