  • My weight never fluctuates more than 8 lbs or so (120 or so to 128), for years. Was I at lower ends of the range when the results were so much better? I'm not sure about 2015, but I am at the lower end now in 2019, but even the higher end is in a healthy weight range, although not where I like to be. When I'm not doing IF…
  • 5'1" and around 120. Usually I wear a 4 or 6 petite. (which are smaller than regular sizes. If it's regular it is always a 4). If I go up even just 5 lbs., I would always be a 6 petite and sometimes 8. It seems when you're short you change sizes more quickly than taller people, whether it's up or down.
  • It happened to me. I've been on and off intermittent fasting for over 5 years. When I've been actively doing IF my cholesterol was so much lower, the first time I thought my results were mixed up with someone else's! The year before (2014) my total had been 233, 2015 it was 190. It hadn't been under 200 in 15 years. Bad…
  • I'm 5'1", over 60, and already at a low weight (under 130) but not low for me, and on the high end of my BMI. I lose on 1,000 cal a day, but sooooo slowly, like 1 lb. a month.
  • Finished this round of FMD 2.2 less than start weight (which was .2 less than I finished the last one). So two rounds of FMD led to 5.8 lbs lost. That is great for my 5'1", old female frame, lol. I'm now 5 lbs. from my ultimate goal, probably 2 more rounds, in the next couple of months, if I can keep off the weight each…
  • I was at my thinnest the two periods of my life that I didn't eat breakfast. First in my college years, I maintained a weight 10 lbs. less than my high school weight (when I ate breakfast every single day). I didn't watch calories, I was just too lazy to get up in enough time to eat. And I didn't feel hungry until later.…
  • I fixed it. First one didn't work. It should work now.
  • This is a group for all types of intermittant fasters, of which the 5:2 diet is one. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/49-intermittent-fasting
  • Uneeknitter, I know what you mean about the foods getting boring, but there's not much help for that. If you did the expensive Prolon foods, I'm sure you'd get bored from those foods too lol. Basically I do rice cakes and PB for breakfast (it's portable for work too!) with a fruit that's not too high in carbs, like a…
  • Yes, how did it go? I wish this group was more active, would love to see more try this. I am on my second round of FMD. Lost 3.4 lbs. the first round, and kept it off using a 16/8 fasting window. Even with my son and family visiting for a week from out of state (lots of extra eating) and a 4 day vacation in the Berkshires…
  • Once a month! It's doable. And inbetween, I'm doing 16/8 intermittant fasting just to hold on to my losses. I tried to stick to 1,000 cal. a day to continue to lose more but it got too hard. I have however held on to the weight loss by doing 16/8. I have followed 16/8 intermittant fasting on and off for a few years, and it…
  • First, let me say I don't lose weight easily. I'm short and old and female, and any program I follow, even at 1,000 calories a day, I generally lose a couple of lbs. a month, if that. Even MyFitnessPal told me this, at the lowest calories it would put me on (1,200 per day) it told me I would lose 1/3 of a lb per week, lol.…
  • Yes. It makes having a deficit easier to achieve. It seems effortless. However, the suggestions wear off, and unless you learn self hypnosis, it can be pretty expensive to keep up sessions.
  • Have a plan for slip ups. A slip up will not derail you unless you let it go to a full blown derailment. We ALL have slip ups because, HELLO, we are human, not perfect. First shift your mind set. You might be thinking "I always do this! I'm a loser! I can't do this", which is ridiculous when you've already lost 70 lbs,…
  • ALL airlines are ridiculously tight these days. I always feel cramped and I'm 5'1" and 123 lbs. My knees end up hurting somehow, every time. Hate flying. From what everyone says, you should be OK and fit OK, try not to stress, and if you're uncomfortable (which it sounds like you will be) just remember that even small…
  • I agree! I have never regretted not eating something afterward. Maybe I'm regretting it while other people are eating it but not afterward. :-)
  • How long have you been doing this? When I joined and took the little quiz, MFP told me I would lose 1/3 of a lb. per MONTH at 1200 calories. Because I'm old, short and already in a healthy weight range, it would just take a really long time. When I lowered calories to 1,000, it's more like a lb. per month. MFP does allow…
  • I've seen the 80/20 reference a lot. I think what it means is that too many people think exercise causes a lot more weight loss than it does. It doesn't mean exercise isn't important. It does mean that just because you walk two miles every day (some people think this is SUCH an accomplishment when it's really the minimum…
  • While it's true that it's the general trend that's important, I would say that a scale that has a 3 lb. variance every time you step on it should not be used. It's not accurate, and 3 lbs. is a huge difference if you step on it at the same time/place within a few minutes. My scale stays stubbornly the same every time I…
  • Doing leg exercises like squats, plie squats, lunges, etc. will firm up your legs. Even if they are still larger in relation to the rest of you, the muscle tone makes them look strong and firm instead of soft and squishy lol. Now, they do not look squishy in the picture at all but leg exercises will make them stronger and…
  • Most bars have diet soda on hand. A rum in diet coke is much better calorie wise than real coke. A diet 7-up or ginger ale or Sprite mixes well with some liquors too. Or a shot of a tasty liquor by itself is good. I discovered Limoncello recently. Yum!
  • Sheesh, all this arguing lol. I did 16/8 fasting for about a year. I started eating at 10:00 a.m. and stopped at 6:00 p.m. When I restricted calories I lost weight. When I didn't I stayed the same. But that was actually awesome, because usually if I am not really tracking what I eat, I gain. And it seemed I could eat and…
